"Our stay at Heyuan Xiangfeng International Hotel was a happy accident. We were driving from Zhaoqing to Shantou, which is quite a long journey, so we decided to break it up with an overnight stay in a city somewhere in the middle. I just picked a hotel near the river from the map. Once we checked in, we were really impressed. The hotel is definitely older, but you can still see its former glory, and they've maintained their unique character through meticulous details and management. The cleanliness of the entire hotel was astonishing. The small hand towels in the bathroom were individually packaged in plastic after being disinfected, and there wasn't a single black spot on any of the silicone in the corners. Even though the furniture and decor are dated, everything was spotless. The staff, from front desk to housekeeping, were all incredibly polite, on par with what you'd expect at a luxury hotel. The hotel management has clearly put a lot of effort into this aspect."

"The hotel service was excellent. There was a minor issue when I first checked in, but it was addressed immediately, no big deal. The dinosaur theme is fantastic, especially the cute wall art. The air conditioning in the room was already on when I arrived, a true savior in the scorching summer heat. The cleaning staff also left a thoughtful welcome display: towel animals and flowers, and the one on top was a real flower – so beautiful! You could really see their dedication. Upon check-in, we received souvenir keychains of a T-Rex and a pony (I only photographed the T-Rex). It's a small gift, but my little boy at home loved it and was so happy. There's a great variety of activities. The water park stops admission at 6 PM and closes at 6:30 PM; kids who don't want to leave eventually have to, hahahaha. The water curtain show is at 8 PM, the bonfire at 8:30 PM, and the fireworks show at 9 PM. The fireworks show was quite short, without a clear theme, almost like someone was just setting them off casually at home; it ended in about 3 minutes. Basically, you don't have to rush or wait too long for anything; the schedule is very well organized."

"Upon entering the first room, there was a pungent smell that my mother absolutely couldn't stand, so she requested a room change. After leaving the room, we saw two other rooms being cleaned, and they also had that strong odor. Afterward, a friendly front desk staff member showed us two more rooms; one had the smell, and the other didn't. Even though we had already partially used the original room, the front desk was very accommodating and switched our room, which was excellent service. The swimming pool was just okay, and the restrooms were decent, but the locker room's disinfected shoe cabinets also had a foul smell, making us hesitant to wear the provided slippers. The hotel rooms are visibly old. In the room before we switched, the wallpaper and cabinet doors were noticeably worn and tattered, and there were no tissues on the desk. The new room was a bit better. In the original room, even with the AC set to 16 degrees, it was only cool, not cold at all, but the air conditioning in the new room was much stronger. The cookies given by the front desk were quite tasty. This hotel is not in the old town; it seems to be in a newer area. To go to the old town for food and sightseeing, you have to cross a bridge every time, so those who mind should consider this carefully."

"I stayed here for two nights, in the same room type, but had to switch rooms once during my stay. The first night was quite good. However, in the second room on the second night, the bedside table was dusty and the floor wasn't very clean. For breakfast, the first day was a weekend and it was acceptable. But on Monday morning, the second day, there was less than half the selection – it was far too sloppy for a buffet breakfast. The complimentary vouchers were also a letdown. The hot spring water wasn't hot and the facilities looked old. The forest park was impossible to enjoy in summer due to the intense sun. And the coffee voucher could only be used after 12 PM. Overall, my stay experience was significantly diminished."

"The hotel was a pleasant surprise overall. The pickup driver was very responsible, contacting us in advance of our arrival. The front desk staff was also great, accommodating our request to change rooms. Our room was clean and tidy, and the buffet was plentiful and delicious. The hotel's location is also fantastic, very close to the fountain and Taiping Ancient Street. I'd definitely choose this hotel again next time I visit. As the pickup driver said, once you stay here, you'll want to come back. Everything was indeed excellent, and it offers great value for money."

"Better than expected experience! I thought it was a small park, but I didn't expect it to be so interesting.
