"Went to front desk to tell them  air conditioner and fridge was not working. Asked him to send someone in an hour. Didn’t write our room number down. No one came. Sent  someone right after my second complaint. Maintenance came twice didn’t fix air conditioner or mini fridge. Spoke to someone  on the floor about housekeeping just to make the beds only and no need the rest(vacuum/bathroom/empty trash). Beds were not made. What a disappointment in the hotel."

"The room facilities were excellent, and the room itself was very spacious. It's conveniently located with attractions nearby. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, tidy, and comfortable. Definitely worth recommending!"

"Cleanliness needs to be improved. Maybe it’s just our room but there was big stains on the chair. Otherwise cleanliness is fine. Breakfast was excellent; great price for value. Checkin smooth but the guy at the counter was expressionless, a simple hello or smile could go far. Checkout the next day, the girl was in much better mood. To fellow travelers with small kid: mall playground located 5 minutes walk from the hotel, location is excellent for young families."

"The facilities and services at this chain hotel are standard and good. Breakfast is a set menu, and you can ask for more if needed. It's very close to Parliament Hill, and most of Ottawa's attractions are concentrated around Parliament Hill, so it's very convenient—just a ten-minute walk. The biggest advantage of staying here is free parking, saving you tens of dollars in parking fees each day."

"The location has some certain distance to subway stations, but it only matters if you arrive to or depart from the hotel using transit, as you might need to walk for around 10 minutes in order to get to the hotel. However, most of the attractions (Parliament, ByWard market) are within walkable distance (less than 20 minutes) so it is not a problem for me. The room is extremely spacious with even a kitchen and a printer for this price point, and the room is clean. However, the shower blinds have some gaps which seeps water to the floor wet while showering… The staff is really nice and friendly, and the free breakfast that comes with the room is good enough (I like the sausage and the egg bites). The laundry is 24/7 and comes with complimentary laundry sheets and powder, which is a big plus. However, do note that there is a certain chance that you’ll be assigned to a first floor room, which is essentially the ground floor… One of the entrance (the one next to the parking lot) for ground floor rooms can look a little bit sketchy at night. Since my room is also next to Elgin street where people go to the pubs at night, it can get a little bit noisy, but the bed is far away from the window so it sort of cancelled the disadvantage. It would be better if the front desk asked if a ground floor room was OK before giving the room cards."

Most importantly, the staff provided professional and attentive hospitality from check-in to departure. Verdict A well-balanced hotel offering consistent quality and a productive environment. "Surprisingly Great Stay! Unique and Comfortable I really enjoyed my stay at the Saintlo Ottawa Jail Hostel. The room was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. The atmosphere is unique and definitely something you don’t experience at a regular hotel — in a good way! The staff were friendly, the place felt safe, and the location was convenient for getting around Ottawa. Overall, it was a great stay and I would happily come back again. Highly recommend"

"The hotel is conveniently located in downtown, close to the Parliament. The reception staff were very accommodating, and while the hallway was a bit dark, it had a pleasant scent. Our room was clean, fresh-smelling, and the bathroom was modern and spotless. The property also offers great amenities like a gym and a game room. Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be coming back."

"The hotel is new and the facilities are decent. The room even had a shower cap. Breakfast was just okay, but it's great value for money. We stayed with our one-year-old, and it was convenient and comfortable for three adults and one child in a single room. It's not far from the city center, and parking is pretty easy. The only issue is that there's a homeless shelter nearby, so it felt a bit unsafe for solo travelers. It's best not to wander around alone outside, and you'll be fine."

"The room was quite comfortable, and the bedding was just right. Overall, the hotel felt pretty good. Its location, right in the heart of the city, is particularly convenient for transportation and city walks. The front desk staff were very enthusiastic, always offering warm walnut pie, which made up for the slight inconvenience of the lobby renovation. They say it'll be finished in May, and looking at the renderings, the newly renovated lobby seems promising. There's one slightly unpleasant incident I'd like to mention. We booked a room with breakfast, and on the first morning, we went to the restaurant. After registering our room number at the entrance, the server immediately asked if we'd like coffee or tea. I asked for a double espresso, and she cheerfully arranged our seating while talking, which felt quite good. However, as our meal was nearing its end, the server presented a bill saying the coffee was an extra charge. This approach felt a bit disingenuous, and it's the first time I've encountered such a thing. I was a bit unhappy and immediately asked the server why they didn't inform us upfront when we were at the entrance. In our usual way of thinking, coffee with breakfast is perfectly normal. Seeing our displeasure, and noticing the $10 CAD tip we left on the table, the server beamed and said she would take care of the coffee bill, implying it wouldn't be charged. However, three days later, it still appeared on the bill at check-out. Although it was only $4 CAD, that's not the point. I complained about it at the front desk, and they also agreed that such a practice was inappropriate and offered to re-print the bill and refund me. I didn't want the hassle and declined. I'm only mentioning this in hopes that they won't resort to what frankly feels like a deceptive tactic in the future. Perhaps it was an individual server's action, but it ultimately affects the Hilton group's image. Because of this, I'd also like to offer a friendly tip to future guests."
