The location is close to Dambulla Cave Temple and about a 20-minute drive from Sigiriya Rock."

"We stayed at the Eden Grand Hotel for two days and absolutely loved it. Although it can be a little tricky to find, the hotel is beautifully located at the edge of the forest, where monkeys leap from tree to tree. The rooms are cozy and well-designed, with a spacious, comfortable bed, modern bathroom and an AC. The service was exceptional. Breakfast is freshly prepared just for you, and the food was fantastic. The hotel also offers its own tuktuk driver, making it easy to visit nearby attractions like Sigiriya Rock. All in all, the Eden Grand Hotel is a charming and peaceful retreat and the Service will try its best to make your stay memorable."

"We chose Hotel Sigiriya due to its proximity to The Lion Rock entrance. Distance from hotel is roughly 8 mins. Please note, it’s advisable to not WALK! Remember to order a tuk-tuk in advance if you plan to climb Sigiriya and watch the sunrise. We left at 5am and paid a return ride of LKR1,500 for two person. Our tuk-tuk driver Chaminda +94 ********* took good care of us -two 50yrs old ladies who successfully climbed the summit. Typical of Ceylonese people the hotel staffs were warm and friendly. Shout out to Tharaka (Reception Manager) who always greeted us with a smile and Shehan Restaurant Manager for entertaining us during our 3 day stay. Our room was a bit dated but clean and comfortable. Good hot shower and acceptable water pleasure. Nice to return to a room that’s been nicely made after 2 hard days of stairs climbing - the Pidurangala (first day) and Sigiriya (second day). Our travel dates were May 31 - Jun 3. Good variety for breakfast buffer - Sri Lankan and Western. The same applies to dinner buffer too. Overall, nice hotel and yes will stay again."

"This is a very nice hotel that is light and airy, and gives you a sense of being in the country. The staff are wonderful and make the experience what it is. Breakfast and dinner are very good, although it would be great to see more variation. Dambulla town has quite limited food options, so hotels like this are often the only choice for guests. The location is good - near to Dambulla, Sigiriya and only 1.5 hours from Anuradhapura. It would be nice to go for walks near to the hotel including to the lake. It is possible but there are guard dogs for the homes on the path to the hotel which makes for a less than relaxing walk. Overall, an excellent hotel"

"Beautiful entrance and outdoor reception. Friendly and attentive staff. Clean and spacious room. Working safe and large bathroom, ac working effectively. Restaurant good and bar area good. Some staff with little English but others help when necessary. The pool is a basic rectangle but clean and an infinity pool looking at the forest. Towels available and subbed, never busy when we used it. Swing too and treetop restaurant available on request. We saw wildlife around but not scarily; a water monitor lizard on the grass by pool and monkey by reception 🫶🏼. There were other facilities that we didn’t make use of and the only suggestion is more information on what is available. A great location to stay if you plan on seeing Sigiriya’s Lion Rock, Minneriya Elephant Safaris, Habarana cultural centre or a Village Tour."

"The River House is incredibly beautiful and a wildlife haven away from all the crowds. We had a wonderful stay, thank you. We absolutely loved watching all the wildlife from the infinity pool. The house was very well presented and in such a beautiful natural setting. It is very natural and open so if you aren’t in tune with nature it might not be for you but if you do appreciate the beauty of the natural world and being close to it, it was superb. The team that run the River House, Nandasiri and Wanasinghe were wonderful. So kind and attentive and the food they cooked was absolutely delicious!! The best we have had in Sri Lanka. Such lovely people they made it an amazing stay. Thank you. We highly recommend the River House"

"The room was spacious and even provided disposable toiletries. It was quiet at night. The room also had a key card for electricity, and the air conditioning and fan were on as soon as you entered, making it very comfortable. Breakfast was a Sri Lankan breakfast option, which was quite plentiful."

"I had a two night stay at Sinhagiri Villa and really enjoyed it. It’s a smallish, family run boutique hotel. You’ll enjoy home cooked meals and a very warm welcome while you’re there. While the rooms may be basic they are very clean and well maintained. It is convenient to local historic sites as well as other points of interest. We climbed Pidurangala Rock one morning and the hosts arranged a predawn tuk tuk driver for us. If you’re looking for an enjoyable stay as you explore Sri Lanka you won’t go wrong here. One note, my friend and I were self driving and had just clicked on the hotel on Google Maps to get navigation. The pin must be placed in the wrong location because we were routed about 20 minutes out of the way. When we entered the physical address found on the internet into the navigation it took us directly to Sinhagiri Villa. There is a great little lunch spot that is about a 1Km walk from the Villa, McCafe, check it out while you’re there, you’ll love it!"

"This hotel has terrible facilities and service. 1. The Wi-Fi in room 97 had no signal, so I had to use the internet in the lobby. 2. There was no hot water in the room, and the staff spent two hours trying to get it working, but I still couldn't shower. I had to go to another room to shower. 3. Breakfast was extremely slow. I booked for 8:00 AM, but by 8:30 AM I had only eaten a few pieces of fruit."
