Cheap Hotels in Hurghada

"I had high expectations for Steigenberger Aqua Magic, but unfortunately my experience did not match the reputation of the hotel. The first disappointment started at check-in. I booked two rooms and sent a request in advance asking for adjacent rooms because we are one family traveling with children. The hotel is very large and consists of several buildings, so it is simply not reasonable for my children to stay in one building while I stay in another. At reception I was told that there were no rooms of the same category available in the same building. To solve the problem, I agreed to pay around €100 to upgrade the second room. However, even after paying for the upgrade, the rooms were still not next to each other. They were only on the same floor despite my repeated request. To make matters worse, I received the key to the first room after approximately 3:00 PM, while the second room was not ready until after 6:00 PM because housekeeping had not finished preparing it. Waiting several extra hours for a room after paying for an upgrade was very frustrating. Then, on the day of departure, shortly after 12:00 PM I received a call asking me to check out immediately. I found this difficult to understand. If the hotel expects guests to respect the official checkout time, then guests should also expect their rooms to be ready at the official check-in time. The standards should be the same for both sides. Another disappointing policy was the specialty restaurants. Although I booked an All-Inclusive package, I was only allowed to use one specialty restaurant because my stay was less than five nights. I do not think this is a fair policy. If a restaurant is fully booked, I completely understand, but if tables are available, all All-Inclusive guests should have the opportunity to dine there regardless of the length of their stay. Restricting access only because of the number of nights makes the All-Inclusive experience feel unnecessarily limited. I also felt there was a noticeable difference in how some guests were treated. I paid in foreign currency just like many international guests, yet I noticed that the building assigned to us was occupied mostly by Egyptian families and its overall condition was not maintained to the same standard, especially the unpleasant smell around the ground-floor bathrooms. Another incident happened at the swimming pool where my children were told that inflatable toys and floats were not allowed, and we immediately respected the rules. However, only a few minutes later we saw children of other nationalities using similar inflatables in the same pool without being stopped. This made me feel that the rules were not being applied equally to everyone. I also remember another situation at reception where a foreign guest requested to change rooms and was offered several alternatives. When I requested the same, the receptionist briefly searched and then told me that no rooms were available. Seeing another guest receive multiple options while I was told there was nothing available left me questioning why the same level of service was not offered to me. I am not saying this based on rumors; I am simply describing my own experience during my stay. I sincerely hope the hotel reviews whether its procedures and policies are being applied equally to all guests. Despite these issues, I would like to thank the restaurant staff, housekeeping staff, and cleaning team. They were always friendly, professional, and helpful, and I truly appreciated the way they treated us. The hotel itself has excellent facilities and great potential, but the inconsistent service at reception and the feeling that some guests receive better treatment than others had a significant impact on our holiday. I hope the management takes these comments seriously because equal treatment, fair policies, and better organization at check-in would greatly improve the guest experience for everyone."

"Friendly administrators who explained everything and helped with minor situations and requests! A special big thank you to the manager, Mr. Nega, for his attention and care towards Russian tourists! His knowledge of four languages and professional approach are commendable! Ideal location: city center, within walking distance of the beach and pool, with a gym available for an additional fee if desired! "Beautiful, beautiful, and comfortable. I wish my stay in Hurghada had been solely at this resort! Even better, it's less than 10 minutes from the airport, and outside the resort, there's a tourist promenade with lots of shops."

"A fantastic experience. I had no idea Egypt had such a vibrant blue sea beyond its deserts. Our few days in Hurghada provided a much-needed respite from the hot and hectic trips to Cairo and Luxor, allowing us to experience a different side of Egypt. The hotel's overall service and room amenities were excellent, and our room had a great location directly facing the sea. Unfortunately, the wind seemed quite strong during this season, and the waves were quite high every day. If you're planning on island hopping or dolphin watching trips, it would be wise to prepare some motion sickness medication."

"Great value for money! There are plenty of restaurant options, and breakfast was better than lunch – I certainly ate my fill. However, I didn't get a single hot shower during my three-day stay; the water was always lukewarm. The in-room phone wasn't working, and when I called the front desk from my mobile to report it, they didn't offer any solutions. Looking at other reviews, cold water seems to be a common issue. I was in a hurry to check out, but they insisted on a 10-minute room inspection. After the inspection, the front desk didn't bother to inform me, and their attitude was generally unhelpful."

"This hotel deserves a lot of criticism. It's an all-inclusive hotel with reservations for six restaurants, but you have to book a day in advance. So if you stay two nights, you only get one chance to try them, and most reservations are impossible to get. When you go for a walk in the evening, you'll find that most of the restaurants you booked are empty. I don't understand why it's so hard to get reservations. Secondly, the car that was supposed to pick us up was stopped at the gate by security because the person it was supposed to pick up was Chinese… Absolutely unreasonable! If the hotel is open to the public, why this kind of discriminatory behavior?! I don't recommend staying here."

"An all-inclusive hotel by the Red Sea. The room facilities are a bit old. The location is far from the city center and the airport, a taxi ride takes about 40-50 minutes. Most of the guests are from Russia and neighboring countries. The food is decent, three meals a day, typical Western cuisine. The hotel has its own beach, which is much smaller compared to other hotels nearby, but the swimming pool inside the hotel is quite large."

"Our vacation was great, with a beautiful reef, lots of fish, and plenty to do. The service was good. The rooms are nice, but only the new ones. The older part of the hotel made a worse impression. Unfortunately, the hotel didn't inform us about the extensive renovations, so the drills and other noises significantly disturbed our relaxation. The service was super, the staff deserve a medal!"

"Rarely see East Asian all-inclusive restaurants, many swimming pools, but the beach is not big, the beach chairs are full. The facilities are old, but the health is good. The cafeteria white rice is normal, but the Spanish restaurant that ordered is disappointing. The singing and dancing activities in the evening are high to 10 o'clock. The hotel has a pier where you can book directly to the sea, which is a higher fee."

"The location is a bit far from the pier, so it's perfect if you're not planning any boat trips and just want to relax. There's a higher proportion of families staying here, and it feels a bit younger than the Old Pier area. The wine list is extensive, and they even have champagne, which is a nice touch!"
