Hotels with Breakfast in Toyako

The onsen was great and the outdoor onsen has a great view of lake Toya. The dinner and breakfast spread were amazing too. Our stay at Nonokaze was the best this holidays. Highly recommended!

The experience was somewhat satisfactory however the property is a bit old and not so well maintained , furniture is old & dirty and the room is stinks with cigarette smell. The design of the room is bad the location of the toilet right at the entrance door. The beds arrangement was not practical and user friendly to any occupants. Wey inconvenience to access and is small. The beds are too low and pillows are small. Generally staff service is satisfactory and acceptable. The great point of this property is that it has an awesome location and beautiful landscape outside and Great Lake views. Food is normal but the queue line is a bit unorganised and have to look into it though the outlet ambience is good.

The location is very remote, not near the hot spring street, so the transportation is very inconvenient. If you don't drive, you can only take the shuttle bus or ask the front desk to help call a taxi. Of course, the advantage of being remote is that the scenery is very good, you can see the sunrise and sunset, and the view is very good. Then because we came during the off-season, there should not be many guests in the entire hotel, so the service staff is also extremely limited. After arriving, all the restaurants were fully booked for dinner, and there was only one person at the spa, and I couldn't make an appointment... If you can't eat in the restaurant, you can only find a way by yourself, because it is too remote and there is nothing around! There is also the front desk for checking in. Wow, I finally saw a service that is different from other places in Japan these few days! It's better to say it's disrespectful than indifferent, but I feel that they shouldn't care that we think their service is not good. As for hotel facilities, the room is relatively spacious and the hot spring is also good.

　The Go To campaign has been postponed and we chose this hotel as a hotel where you can spend the year-end and New Year holidays quietly near Sapporo. It's almost on the other side of the lake of Lake Toya Onsen, so I really relaxed quietly. There is only one convenience store in the area, and there are few tourists. That's why I wanted to see the first sunrise of the New Year from the room bath. This year, the cold waves have come for the first time in decades, and Sapporo was like a snowstorm. Clouds flowed in Lake Toya near the Pacific Ocean side, but I was able to see the first sunrise from the open-air bath in the large communal bath. According to the hotel word of mouth at TripAdvisor, the evaluation was divided in an open-air bath with a room. It can be seen from the outside, but first of all, it's a cold village without people, and I think it's okay to have a bathing suit. I felt a special feeling of bathing while looking at the cold moon on a cold night. It's an overseas-capital hotel, so it's great to relax and understand in advance that it's different from a Japanese hot spring hotel. I would like to spend the New Year's Eve here next year. Good point: ① The hospitality of the staff, the number of Japanese staff increased, and the moderate distance feeling was wonderful. We stayed for 2 nights, but the words that conveyed the feelings of the staff relieved me. ② The meal was Japanese for both dinners and nights. The taste of the soup stock was very delicious. The main Hokkaido beef was the same level of deliciousness as the one I received at Niseko Hilton last fall. Near Maruyama in Sapporo, it is worth a course of around 10,000 yen. Breakfast buffet is far away. ③ The large windows of the large communal bath and the lukewarm water temperature made me enjoy the scenery of Lake Toya leisurely. ④ In winter, it is close to Niseko and Rusutsu (because the slip accident is scary at Nakayama Pass in winter). Both have half board during the ski season and cannot stay at this price. Improvement points: ① To go to the public bath, it was cold to go outdoors and dressing room once. It may be due to the cold waves, but yukata is severe on a snowstorm night. ② How about the fact that many hot spring hotels in Hokkaido can also slippers? Some people may want to go in yukata, but the atmosphere of dinner is disappointing. It may not be possible at a city hotel of this class. ③ As a layout of the room, it may be unfamiliar for Japanese people to have a washbasin in front of the bed. Especially we were triple beds, so it was too small because we had skiwear and the closet was small for winter consecutive nights. Still, overall, it is a reasonable dinner hotel that you want to revisit with the hospitality of the meal, hot springs, restaurants and bars, staff.

I have to say that this is really a great memory. I went there at the end of 2019. The room I lived in was facing the lake. I got up in the morning and looked out the window and I could enjoy the lake view directly. There were buses outside to reach various attractions. The hot spring environment of the hotel is very good, soaking in the outdoor soup can also enjoy the snow while soaking, this is really a rare experience. It is highly recommended to go to the leisurely accommodation of Lake Toya and the people who soak in the soup.

We decided to spend one night in Tōya-ko on our way down to Hakodate and It was definitely worth it. Not only because of the beautiful scenery but also thanks to this hotel. It is definitely an old hotel, but in my opinion, it only added to the ,”traditional Japanese” vibe of the place. The room was very spacious for our family of 2 adults and 2 kids, and it was such a pleasant change to other new and modern yet very tiny hotels we normally stay at. Breakfast was excellent, with so many traditional dishes to choose from. And the onsen right in the hotel is another big plus. I'm not a huge fan of the onsen myself, but I absolutely loved the cave looking onsen and the one located outside. The whole hotel kind of reminded me of Ryokan. But what is hands downs the best about the place, is the view you get from your room, which is spectacular. The view of the lake Tōya and Mt Yōtei is simply breathtaking.  

When I arrived at the hotel, I was surprised to find a welcome drink and sake, but it was delicious. The room also had a massage machine, which was very useful to get rid of the tiredness of driving. The young man Nakai was very polite and cheerful, and I felt calm. Middle 々 While there is no pet OK hotel, this hotel was a time when my dog was staying with me, so there was a dock run and I couldn't get a family tour group 々. Speaking of luxury, I wanted to stay for a few nights. Thank you to all the staff.

From Toya Train Station Bus Stop (immediately visible when you exit the Train Station), you can take a bus/taxi. I chose the cheaper option which costs about Y340. It's about 7 stops to Toyako Onsen Bus Terminal (serving as a transport node at Toyako Onsen) and another 3 stops to Motomachi Bus Stop (2 minutes walk to Hotel Hanabi). Travelling time by bus is about 20-25 min, but subject to waiting time (take note of the bus service timings). Google Maps works well to provide suggested travelling route and timings. I booked a single room for one night that was clean and served it's purpose. It felt a lot like a hostel than a hotel but has an onsen. My booking included a buffet dinner and breakfast which was critical as there weren't many food options around the area. Both buffet had a wide selection to cater to Asian/Western food preferences. There's a 7-Eleven that is about 5-10 min walk away. There's a Tourist Information Centre at the Bus Terminal. The Bus Terminal is also reachable by walking which will take about 15-20 min. Hotel Hanabi is one of many lodging options along Lake Toya, and just walking outside the hotel, I was already able to capture the nice photo of Mount Yotei. During the time I was there (mid-end Apr), there were no bus options so the only way to travel to Usuzan Ropeway was by taxi booking done at the hotel reception. It costed about Y1900 one-way and took about 15-20 min. Once I was done visiting, another taxi booking is done at the Usuzan Ropeway counter to the next destination.

I made a reservation in a hurry the day before, but it was close to the rental in the corona pass, and it was very cheap and I was able to stay overnight in a good location on the edge of Lake Toya. So there is no problem in the shared toilet. There was also a washlet in a western toilet. There was a washbasin in the room. The window was also open and the room was smoking. The view of Lake Toya was good from the window, and the fireworks that rose every night from May to the end of October looked beautiful. The hot spring is quite hot, but it was comfortable to get used to it. The parking lot was a lot of signboards for different shops, so it was a lot of fun. There are convenience stores and delicious taverns nearby, and there is no inconvenience with breakfast and dinner and no problem.

Clean dated traditional Japanese hot spring hotel with traditional Japanese fine dinning dinner and breakfast. Our room comes with lake view, quiet and beautiful. Food and service was good. No complaint since the price was really cheap. Always see someone complaining the traditional Japanese hot spring hotels are dated, PLEASE ask yourself how much you pay. The price includes fine dinning. It's about quality of food, NOT quantity. Can you get a hotel room with fine dinning of same quality of food with the same price anywhere else? This is a very unfair comment to this hotel. The rule of the game never changes: You have to pay for quality.
