I've stayed at a few Keihan Group hotels, and they've all been great, but this Kyoto Station South hotel is particularly excellent. The Chinese-speaking front desk staff provided fantastic service during check-in, making me feel truly at home. I also got lucky this time; I arrived at 12 PM and was able to check in early. The daily breakfast is also incredible value for money; 1980 yen on its own isn't expensive at all, and it's an absolute steal when bundled with the room. The 11 AM check-out time is very reasonable, and the luggage storage facilities are excellent, making you feel very secure. However, the self-service lockers fill up quickly, so you often have to leave your bags with the staff. All the amenities are thoughtful and convenient. The only minor drawback is that the expensive hairdryer is too large, taking up space and being awkward to use in the small bathroom. In the afternoons, you can also enjoy complimentary coffee and drinks at the restaurant. The location is unbeatable; it's right across the street from Hachijo Exit, making shopping, dining, and public transport incredibly convenient. The bus to Kansai Airport is also nearby, which is much more comfortable than taking the train. I will definitely stay here again next time I visit Kyoto.

This self-service hotel is excellent and incredibly convenient. Check-in was seamless, and the hot springs were open very late, almost all day long! You can grab toiletries and other items as needed, and room cleaning can be intelligently selected, which eliminates a lot of communication hassle and is very efficient. The breakfast selection is extensive, making for a fantastic experience!

The hotel is very clean and well-maintained. The location is excellent, just a short walk from Kyoto Station, making it very convenient for traveling. It is located right opposite Kyoto Station Hachijo East Exit, with Avanti Mall just next to it, so everything you need is nearby.

There is another Keihan Hotel in the same area, which may be slightly confusing at first. However, the hotel is actually very easy to find — just exit Kyoto Station, turn left, and you will see it next to Avanti Mall.

The hotel also provides skincare products from KOSE, which is a very nice and thoughtful touch.

Overall, I had a very pleasant stay and would definitely recommend this hotel to other travelers.

The hotel was clean and the staff were very friendly. The room was spacious and they provided toiletries, including skincare and cleanser, which was a nice touch. The location was excellent, just next to Kyoto Station, making it very convenient to get around. Breakfast was good, with a slightly Western selection, though there were limited Japanese options. They don’t have a laundry room, but there is a self-service laundromat about 500 meters away.

Awesome services and assistance provided by the team as they addressed my request perfectly. Location is superb, close to Kyoto Station and there is a big Lawson downstairs and vending machines. We had the tower view room but during that time they were undergoing outer walls upgrades so the view was blocked, however this will never affect the perfection provided by the hotel. Definitely will stay with them when return to Kyoto soon

Extremely close to Kyoto Metro Station, and also conveniently accessible via the airport express. It's super easy to get to nearby attractions, restaurants, and shopping. The facilities are clean and hygienic, and the living experience was fantastic!

Extremely happy with my stay here, especially in this room. Honestly, I’m not sure why there are bad reviews — unless you’re particularly plus-size and need extra space, this room is completely fine. It actually has way more aesthetic and character than a plain, cookie-cutter hotel room, and the whole atmosphere genuinely added to our stay.

We had zero issues opening two 30kg suitcases on the floor, with plenty of room left to move around comfortably.

Only minor note: the sink is a little smaller and slightly lower than the usual height, but the bathtub and shower work perfectly, so it didn’t bother us.

And the location? Chef’s kiss. Being right next to Kyoto Station means unbeatable access to trains, buses, and sightseeing — one of the biggest reasons we chose this hotel over others. Truly an amazing base for exploring Kyoto!

Extremely close to USJ, perfect for getting an early start and being among the first into the park. The cleanliness and in-room facilities were also great, I was generally quite satisfied. However, the soundproofing in the room was pretty mediocre; you could hear conversations from the hallway or nearby rooms.

I visited during the late hours. The hotel's location is super convenient, just a 10-minute walk from Osaka-jo Hall, where the concert was held. There are tons of convenience stores and local restaurants nearby, so no worries about shopping or dining. Keihan Station is right downstairs, offering multiple lines from JR, the subway, and Keihan Electric Railway, making it really easy to get to the airport, Kyoto, and other attractions within Osaka. However, because it's built right on top of the station, some rooms are incredibly close to the railway tracks. Even late at night on weekends, you can still hear train noises past midnight, which is something to keep in mind!

The hotel is very clean and well-maintained, though the room size is quite small, which is fairly typical for Japan. Amenities are conveniently provided at an amenity bar in the lobby, allowing guests to pick up what they need.

The location is one of the biggest highlights. Just a 5 minutes walk away is Temmabashi Station, which offers easy train access to Kyoto and other parts of Osaka. Directly opposite the hotel is Keihan City Mall, where you can find popular stores like Uniqlo, GU, and Muji, making shopping very convenient. Osaka Castle is also within walking distance, which is great for sightseeing. There are convenience stores such as FamilyMart and 7-Eleven nearby, so getting food or daily essentials is very easy. 

Another plus is the Airport Limousine Bus stop located behind Keihan City Mall, which provides a direct ride to Kansai International Airport in about an hour for 1800 yen. Tickets can be booked online, and the hotel staff are helpful if you need assistance. This makes it especially convenient for both arrival and departure.

Overall, it’s a great choice if you value cleanliness, convenience, and accessibility. Perfect for exploring Osaka and making day trips to Kyoto too.

The room was decent, but it's really far from the subway station! It takes more than ten minutes to walk there from the exit! Other than that, everything else was pretty good. I'd consider this hotel again if I don't have too much luggage next time!

The hotel offers self check-in, but there's staff available to assist if needed. It's about a 5-6 minute walk from Yodoyabashi subway station, with a 7-Eleven and FamilyMart conveniently located downstairs. Walking to the Umeda shopping district or Shinsaibashi is also quite easy, taking roughly a little over half an hour. The room is small, as expected. Toiletries and water are self-service from downstairs. Overall, it's a pretty convenient place to stay.

Aside from the room being a bit small, everything else was great. The location is really excellent – within 100 meters, you'll find a subway station, convenience stores, coffee shops, and a mall. There are also several restaurants nearby. Check-in is done via a self-service machine, and there's a Cainiao Express point nearby where you can send packages.

This is my second stay in Tokyo, and the location is excellent, very close to Tsukiji subway station. It's also less than a 15-minute walk to Ginza and not far from the Tsukiji Fish Market. The room is quite spacious compared to other hotels in the same category. All my requests made during booking were met; I got a high-floor room facing south, so it was sunny every day, and it overlooked the beautiful street garden below. The room was clean, and daily housekeeping was very thorough. The front desk staff were very friendly, and communication in English was smooth. Breakfast was abundant, with both Western and Japanese options, as well as Chinese congee. I especially recommend a ramen shop near Tsukiji Market that serves delicious oyster-broth ramen; it's a great option for dinner.

This is definitely the top choice for a hotel near Senso-ji Temple for New Year's Eve! After Hatsumode (first temple visit of the year), due to road closures, it's incredibly important to have a hotel within walking distance. The location is excellent, highly recommended!

This hotel is in a fantastic location in Shinjuku, and the breakfast is pretty good too. The room layout and space are well-designed and practical, and it's fully equipped with everything you need. You can pick up toiletries from the first floor if you need them. It's super convenient for getting to places like Ginza.
