Hotel Verdandi Oslo opened in September 2018 and is a 3,5-star hotel with a total of 170 rooms, including two different standard rooms (Comfort and Plus), Superior rooms and spacious Deluxe rooms with upgraded furniture and all imaginable equipment. The building was built in 1994 and clearly represents its tight lines and powerful columns, which in the early 1990s were referred to as modernist architecture. The street has got its name after Vice Admiral Peter Wessel Tordenskiold, who lived from 1690 to 1720. You will find us in the heart of Oslo City Centre, about 200 yards from the Parliament, and 800 yards from Akershus Festning (Akershus Fortress). The hotel is modernized and furnished by our eminent interior designers at Room2Room, and has a consistently modern and delicate interior, with clear roots for our Nordic heritage. The hotel has got its name after the Old Norse word «Verdandi», which means «present time/beginning». The name and the meaning are chosen so that our employees, management and guests will never forget how important the present is, and that our future is always influenced by how we manage our present. The name Verdandi was originally written in the Old Norse language, and for that reason, you will find the letter ð written in capital letters (Ð) in the hotel logo.

"Stayed for three nights to explore Oslo, small rooms but that didn't matter as the room was just for sleeping. Comfortable beds and all very clean as one would expect in Norway. Excellent value £40 per person per night. Rather eccentric interior design. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Didn't have breakfast there as there is a lovely bakery 'Erketunet Gardsbakeri' one block away. The hotel is in a good location for the museums, opera house, trams and ferries."

Hotell Bondeheimen

The hotel's location is very central, with all the city's attractions within walking distance, right next to the busiest pedestrian street. However, it's a bit far from the station. On the day I arrived, dragging my luggage from the station on a slippery road, it took me a while to find it. There's construction happening next door and across the street, which slightly affects the view. The room isn't large, but it's fine for one person. Breakfast was also decent.

Great hotel with good transport links (I think you have the metro, tram and bus all within 10 min walk) but it is worth mentioning that this is slightly out of the centre so it takes about 30 minutes to get in. For business travellers with offices around I guess that dosent matter but for tourists it might be slightly time consuming although the Ruter zone 1 transport pass does cover this so more on time rather than cost for transport here. Breakfast was splendid and I really enjoyed the spread and quality which I think is even better than other 5 star hotels I’ve stayed in Oslo and other parts of EU. Staff in breakfast was great, although reception staff was not the friendliest per se - professional though just not as friendly. I put a DND on my room door twice but both times housekeeping still came to clean my room so I’m not really sure if the signs mean anything. Amenities though was horrendous - nothing except poor quality towels and soap which were a let down. Overall good hotel but definitely more things could be done to achieve the maximum potential.

Decor is excellent and the theme of the rooms is cohesive and smart. Excellent gym but pool was an additional cost, unless you have a suite. This was a disappointment and gives the place a cheap feeling.  There were lots of additional events being held at the hotel which gave the place a noisy and overly busy feel. Often large groups of party goers waiting for lifts at night. Corridors are also quite busy and noisy. There is a feel that hotel guests are a necessary afterthought when these events are held. Staff ranged from very nice to indifferent and sometimes even disdainful.  Overall I wouldn’t describe this hotel as peaceful or a place that makes you feel at ease.

Great hotel, but the fact that you have to book a cleaning feels like a cost cutting measure rather than one to benefit the environment. Breakfast is very expensive despite the reception staff calling it “cheap”.

My meeting was in Nydalen, thereby a convenient location. The subway station is in the same building as the hotel. 45 minutes to the airport via the central station.

Just a few minutes' walk from Oslo Central Station. The room was a decent size. There's no kettle, and housekeeping is only every four days, but most people visiting Oslo are just passing through and usually only stay a couple of days, so four-day cleaning is acceptable. Breakfast was better than I expected, with meat, eggs, dairy, vegetables, and fruit. The staff were also very diligent about refilling dishes and clearing tables.

I think the room is very beautiful, we like it very much. The room is very clean, the service is excellent, and there is also breakfast and dinner available. It would be even better if the door could be locked from the inside. If we go to oslo, we will check in this hotel again next time.

The hotel's location is good and convenient. Although the room isn't large, it's clean and functional, which was acceptable. I arrived in Oslo a day early, excited for my Silver Sea Arctic cruise, and planned to extend my stay at the hotel for one night after the cruise. When checking in, I specifically mentioned that the cruise company had already booked a room for the following night and asked if I could stay in the same room to avoid switching. The receptionist checked and confirmed that they had specially arranged for me to stay in the same room, and I would just need to renew my key the next day. I was very pleased, thinking the hotel's service was thoughtful and human. However, the next morning when I went to the front desk to renew my key, I was told that if I wanted to continue my stay, I'd have to pay an additional 500 NOK! The hotel management's policy changed so suddenly; I believe their service greatly needs improvement. I also have an extended stay for one night on my return trip. I wonder if they'll try to make me switch rooms or upgrade then?! Very dissatisfied. Also, the bed wasn't very big, and the breakfast chef was very unfriendly.

The hotel's location is unbeatable! It's just a 4-minute walk from the train station, and light rail, metro, and bus stops are all right nearby. Oslo City shopping center is directly across the street, making shopping and dining incredibly convenient. The staff were very polite. While the room wasn't large, it was highly functional and very comfortable to stay in. There was a wide variety of breakfast options, but the taste was just average.

Myself and a group of HE students have returned home from a conference where we stayed in this hotel. The staff were really helpful and polite. Every morning we would ask for fresh towels at reception and these were either provided there and then or delivered to the room within 10 minutes of the request. The hotel is located around 10-15 minutes walk away from the marina, the tube station, royal palace. The students really enjoyed how central the hotel was to everything. Check in and out was smooth, and the rooms were clean. There was a QR code in the room to scan if you wanted the cleaner to come in on a daily basis.  There was a small selection of snacks in the reception area to purchase. On the other hand the breakfast variety was really good.  From fresh waffles and pancakes to cooked breakfast, cereal, yoghurt and fruit, fresh smoothies and juices.  Overall this hotel is great if you want a base to go and explore Oslo. I would recommend this hotel to a weekend away.
