Hôtel Carré Vieux Port

Hotel above expectations, quality price absolutely disproportionate. Almost 4 star service with a very low rate. The staff was really kind and available for every request. The elevator a bit crazy while I was there, in my opinion the mirror reflects on the photocells and continues to reopen the doors. But even if this very prompt in solving the issue. Thanks I hope to return soon

This place was a bit expensive for Marseille imo and paying to hold luggage was definitelya first for me. The staff was friendly, though. There is an itty bitty cafe downstairs but when thr room fill up, it'sa pain to order anything. I was in a room with a leaking sink drain pipe and water got everywhere. B'c there are no towels, I had to dry it up with my own personal towel and then buy a new one for myself. So. I then needed to go to a laundromat which there is ine conveniently around the corner. Pricey. Location of the hostel is pretty close to all transport so it was easy to find. The city is beautiful so I'll come back again.

Cleaning ladies were demonstrating 53 days in front of the hotel when I arrived. The rotating door was covered with mud and confetti, while the black women danced to loud African beats. A complete shock! They continued during my stay… The front desk was super helpful after I contacted their manager. My flight was delayed and I arrived a day late so they managed to modify my reservation without extra payment. My card didn’t work so I gave a cash deposit and they sent me an email when my suitcase that had been delayed arrived (so as not to wake me up). The housekeeping was average- twice they didn’t restock the water. Once they forgot a cleaning chemical. Another time they didn’t restock the decaffeinated capsules. Also they could have been more generous with the toilet paper. It’s the very thin recycled one, that goes fast. Breakfast was delicious and the restaurant spacious, with a garden overlooking the marina. The room was large, modern and quiet, with an amazing view of the harbor, including both sunsets and sunrises! I even saw the incredible half an hour long fireworks for Bastille day right under my window! The bed is big and comfortable, pillows a bit too soft, lighting is good but there are no toiletries (which was initially problematic due to the lost luggage). Room service wasn’t available the only night that I wanted to order it - due to Bastille day celebrations. The QR code don’t work on my phone so I had to call the reception to order. Also there was no alcoholic drinks listed, plus I had no fridge in the room, so I couldn’t fully relax and enjoy my holiday. The hotel doesn’t have a spa, which is a shame. So I made a reservation online and got a massage in the Hammam spa a few minutes from the hotel)very expensive and not great). The closest one to the hotel was closed. The pool is gorgeous but in another building which requires another elevator to be taken at the ground floor. A bit of a hassle…The gym is basic but good. Gets pretty busy and dirty at the end of the day. There are many nice restaurants nearby and even a small Proxi shop. There is a bus stop 1min away, that goes to the Terrace du Port. And the taxi conveniently dropped me off right in front of the hotel. The Mucem and Cosquer caves visible from the hotel, are a bit pleasant 25min walk away and the well worth the visit. Overall, I was satisfied with my stay, and would come again if the above issues were resolved.

The location of the hotel is excellent, it is in the Bourse building of the Old Port area and within walking distance to the port area and museums. Service is good, and the front desk staff is friendly and helpful.

I chose this hotel because it is close to the train station and convenient to take the airport line the next day. The location is very good, just a few steps from the subway station, two stops to the old port. Most of the attractions in Marseille are around the old port. There are not many hotel rooms, the room is not big or small, if you open two large boxes, there is a little restriction on walking. The room rate is early, there are not many breakfast options, there is a courtyard where you can eat breakfast, you can have a cup of coffee in the courtyard.

The bed is quite big, maybe not as big as a king, but two adult women won't feel crowded. The room is a bit old, but it's still quite clean. There is a shower and a bathtub, but the seal of the shower room is not well pasted or old, and it leaks. The balcony faces the port. The rooms with balconies are all on the lower floors and face a road to the port, not directly next to the port. The view is average, and Marseille is always windy in winter, which feels quite tasteless. The breakfast is average. I don't know if there are not many varieties in the off-season, but the restaurant is high and you can see the whole Marseille. The popular seats on the terrace are not open in winter (and it's really cold). The hotel has a basement where you can pay for parking, 32 euros a day, and the entrance and exit are very narrow, so be careful. But this location is convenient for highways. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to the center of the old port. The area around the hotel feels safe, and it's no problem to walk back after dinner in the evening.

The location is excellent, directly opposite Marseille train station. It's only a five-minute walk to the station, which is incredibly convenient. However, the surrounding area can be quite unsettling, with many homeless people. The room itself was clean and well-maintained, and the bedding was comfortable. Service was average; check-in isn't until 3 PM, and early check-in wasn't an option. There's a Carrefour Express supermarket downstairs, which is handy. It's a good choice for a stopover in Marseille if you're transferring trains.

The location is very convenient. The hotel has access control, which is relatively safe. Free luggage storage. There are not many simple cafes around. Breakfast was added, which was very amazing. The staff are very polite

The biggest advantage is that the train station is very close. The train station is on a high ground. It is very difficult to pull boxes in the city, such as the old port. It is recommended that the subway taxi is closer. The whole Marseille has various heights and lows. ibis is mainly soundproofed. The sound of other neighbors closing the door is not loud outside the window. Breakfast is really good at this price hotel.
