"We booked a 38-square-meter family room, but stayed in a 10-square-meter room. The inn didn't have an elevator, and climbing up was a bit of a struggle for us, a 70-year-old. The bathroom didn't have a toilet, just a squat toilet, and getting up after squatting was a struggle. Showering was done with the toilet lid on top, which was tiny. The shower head couldn't be adjusted, so we had to hold it up with our hands to wash. We had originally planned to stay and not move, but had no choice but to find another hotel. This one listed online as 25 square meters, but it was more than double the 38-square-meter size! I wish all businesses would operate with integrity."

This B&B was just opened recently and it was very good to stay once. It is very close to the train station. The owner has a very good service attitude and also provides train station transfer service! Tom FuzerNice hotel, right in the most attractive part of Taining town. It's a few minutes walk from the historic district, right on the river front. Easy access also to get to the natural scenic areas of the region. The hotel itself is nice, clean, well-maintained. The room is spacious and has modern features. The staff is very helpful, they do their best to accommodate a laowai customer. The only critique I have that is true for the vast majority of the hotels in China that the breakfast isn't exactly attractive for foreigners. One can of course eat Chinese breakfast with steamed buns and spicy soups and things like that most of the time, but occasionally I wouldn't mind to have a western style option available too. In a four star hotel I would expect this to be on the menu

Although it is a bit far from the villa, about 7 kilometers away, the closest one is about 3 kilometers away, so you need to drive anyway. It is adjacent to the ticket office of Dajinhu Scenic Area, and it is also beautiful for a walk in the evening and convenient to Ganluyan Temple. There is a laundry and drying room on the roof.
