Stayed here for the location more than anything. Right by Zhongshan Road, so everything is within walking distance — food, shopping, and the usual Xiamen buzz. Makes it easy if you don’t want to think too much about transport. Room is simple, functional, nothing fancy. But clean and comfortable enough for a short stay. Recommended Itinerary: As soon as you arrive at Jimei School Village Metro Station, we recommend renting an e-bike nearby. No need for complicated route planning—just ride and stop as you please. Head along Yinjiang Road, passing by Jiageng Building, Jimei Liberation Monument, and the Dragon Boat Pool. Don't forget to stop and snap photos of the village's iconic Western-style architecture; the white arches, red brick walls, and chic glass windows are super photogenic. When visiting Xiamen, I highly recommend adding Zengcuo'an to your itinerary! 🥰 Originally a small coastal fishing village, it now perfectly preserves the charm of traditional Minnan red-brick houses while blending in creative boutiques, quirky cafes, and local street food. It has such a wonderful "slow-living" vibe. During the day, you can take your time wandering through the alleys and snapping photos. At sunset, take a leisurely stroll down to the beach. Once the lights come on at night, the whole place transforms into a completely different, romantic scene. When the red lanterns are lit, it truly feels like stepping into a vintage movie. ✨ This time, I also specially tried the traditional "Zanhua" (floral headdress), and it was absolutely worth it! Walking through the historic streets of Zengcuo'an with a head full of gorgeous blossoms gave me such a strong sense of ancient Minnan style and the ultimate Xiamen travel aesthetic. Literally every corner makes for a perfect photo op. While strolling and snacking on Zhongshan Road, I chose the Orange Hotel on the 4th floor of North China Town. It's right above 85°C, super easy to find, with prices ranging from 299 to 899 RMB, truly great value for money! I was pleasantly surprised as soon as I checked in—the style is designed by a foreign designer. The room’s sound system can connect via Bluetooth to your phone or computer and even directly to the TV, making binge-watching and listening to music super convenient~ The 39-inch Philips LCD TV is a real treat to watch, and thoughtful amenities like electric curtains, a mini fridge, and a sofa stool add to the comfort. The separate shower has strong water pressure, making for a pleasant wash~ The best part is the soundproofing! Designed by Tsinghua Acoustic Institute, it’s really different—you can sleep peacefully all night without any outside noise~ The breakfast deserves praise! It’s a Chinese and Western buffet with added Minnan-style breakfast specialties, available from 7 AM to 11 AM, which is very traveler-friendly. You can sleep in and enjoy a leisurely meal with a wide variety that’s overwhelming in a good way~ The lobby offers free coffee and drinks 24/7, so you can relax in the lounge area with a drink in the afternoon and all travel fatigue just melts away~ There’s also a self-service laundry room, so you don’t have to worry about dirty clothes even if you stay for several days. They really understand travelers! Right downstairs is Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street, and it’s convenient to get to Gulangyu Island too. Shopping, eating, and staying all in one place~ Staying here in Xiamen is truly worry-free and comfortable. I definitely want to stay here again next time!
