Swiss Grand Xiamen

The hotel's location is excellent, right across from Gulangyu Island. Peace Wharf, where you can catch a night cruise, is just downstairs. It's also very convenient to walk to Zhongshan Road! The hotel service was great, especially Miss Zhao at the front desk. Knowing I was traveling with my 80-year-old mother, she specifically helped me arrange a 1 PM late check-out. Many thanks!

Overall, the hotel was decent, but this time my experience wasn't great. I felt the staff's attitude wasn't very good and they were difficult to communicate with. I'm not sure if they were just too busy.

The room was fantastic, with a floor-to-ceiling window directly facing Gulangyu Island. I almost wanted to spend every day just sitting by the window and enjoying the view. The room was clean and tidy.

The hotel's location is excellent, right next to Zhongshan Road, Bashi Market, and the ferry terminal, making it convenient to go anywhere. The room was spacious, and the breakfast was abundant. Both the elderly and children were very satisfied.

This five-star hotel feels like it's lost its luster, with only the name and structure remaining. The facilities are definitely dated, and the room had a strong carpet odor. The bathroom, however, was reasonably well-maintained, and the shower head provided a consistent and comfortable flow. When I arrived around 12 PM, check-in took ages due to long queues. To my surprise, my 'sea view' room faced a statue directly; I had to lean out the window and look left just to glimpse the ocean. Thinking it was still early, I asked the front desk if there was a room with a better view in the same category. From 1 PM to past 2 PM, I asked twice, and both times they said no rooms were ready yet and I'd have to wait.

This stay made me question my life choices. I booked it through Ctrip for 736. First, when I arrived, they couldn't find my reservation because it was somehow matched with my child, a minor, as the booker. Second, the room had an overwhelming mildew smell; I felt like throwing up after less than five minutes. Third, when settling the bill at the hotel restaurant, they kept making mistakes. Fourth, the room they moved me to was not only *not* the original floor-to-ceiling window sea-view room, but the floor was also broken (as shown in the picture), and the shower water was barely a trickle and *cold*! So cold! I stripped down and couldn't even change, nearly catching a cold. The sink wouldn't drain (as shown in the picture). Fifth, the ceiling in the hallway was leaking (as shown). There are just too many other details to even complain about. To sum it up, for 736 a night at this 'luxury star-rated hotel,' the room's moldy smell made me want to puke, and the shower water was freezing cold and barely there!!!

The hotel upgraded our room, which was fantastic! As two girls traveling, we felt very safe staying here. The service was excellent, and the room was cleaned thoroughly. The location is also great, making it easy to access food, drinks, and entertainment. Xiamen is beautiful! 💕

Guanyu Healthy Low-Calorie Light Meals: A wide variety of dishes, fresh ingredients. Facilities: Very new. Cleanliness: Satisfied. Environment: Very convenient, within walking distance to Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street. The Heping Wharf opposite the hotel is super convenient for night tours to Gulangyu Island and daytime sea views of Kinmen. Service: Warm and attentive.
