Harbin is a city where winter turns into magic. Sitting on the banks of the Songhua River, it blends Russian charm with Chinese soul. You’ll find Baroque buildings, golden onion domes, and streets filled with grilled skewers and ice cream. Harbin is cold, but it’s the kind of cold that stays warm in your memory.

Harbin Cultural Park used to be just a regular amusement park, but now it has transformed into a super cool photo spot. The vibe is a mix of abandoned amusement park + fantasy + a touch of Cthulhu.

🌟 Main vibe of the place
The park features old rides that are still there, giving off a slightly eerie, haunted feel 😂. Some cartoon characters have "very strange designs" that look like they came straight out of a horror game. Broken ride instruction boards further enhance the "abandoned amusement park" atmosphere.
This place is perfect for photography enthusiasts who love bold colors and dreamcore aesthetics. It might also appeal to those who enjoy exploring spooky places 🤣.

📸 Tips for taking great photos
Visit in the afternoon when the sunlight is warm for the best shots.
Clear skies reduce the eerie vibe and make the place feel cozier.
Using a Fuji or CCD camera will give your photos a vintage feel.
I imagine that a vintage-style pre-wedding photoshoot here would look absolutely stunning.

❄️ Winter adds to the vibe
The grass inside turns into a snow-covered field.
The Ferris wheel corner is incredibly photogenic.
However, "stepping on the grass is prohibited" now, which limits some photo angles.

🚇 How to get there
Accessible by both subway and bus. The park is huge and open-air. Search for Harbin Cultural Park (哈尔滨文化公园) on the map.
💸 Admission: Free

offers a unique experience where you can enjoy hotpot amidst exquisite porcelain art!
📍 Harbin is a must-visit destination! It offers free attractions and delicious food. This recommended spot showcases valuable art pieces such as Ming Dynasty blue-and-white porcelain vases, dragon cloud-patterned jars, the hanging scroll 'Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea,' and ancient halls resembling Lijiang town — perfect for leisurely exploration and photography.
The hotpot set for two costs 188 yuan, with generous portions that are more than enough for two people. 🍲

🍽 Menu Highlights:
· Spicy lotus root with okra — crispy with a refreshing tangy sauce
· Beef — perfectly marbled, not greasy
· Lamb — no gamey smell
· Handmade fresh noodles — chewy and delicious, especially with sesame dip
· Hotpot soup with small crabs — naturally sweet and fresh
· Hawthorn — sweet and sour, great for cutting through richness
Overall, dining here feels like enjoying hotpot in a 'traditional wooden house,' warm and cozy with a delightful ambiance.

Just got back from Harbin, and this Indigo really blends European vintage style with gentle river views perfectly, every detail hits my heart✨

Harbin Central Street Indigo Hotel

✨Room soundproofing and cleanliness
The vintage carriage room I stayed in had excellent soundproofing😴. Once the doors and windows were closed, all the noise from the old street was blocked out, and I slept in naturally feeling super comfortable🛌. The entire room was spotless🧹, carpets, tables, and bathroom all clean, bedding soft and skin-friendly, Dyson hairdryer + high-quality amenities, detail lovers will be very satisfied💯. Every corner was immaculate, hygiene standards on point, making the stay safe and cozy❤️.

🍽️Dining experience
The Song·Lin Jian restaurant was exactly to my taste😋, combining Chinese and Western dishes with Northeastern specialties like red sausage, large rye bread, and kvass🥐. Breakfast was fresh and abundant, with hot dishes made to order☕, and the window seats offer river views, creating a perfect dining atmosphere🌅. The flavors were on point and the presentation exquisite, a feast for both the palate and the eyes✨.

Harbin isn't just about snow; it hides a "magical world" within. On that day, while strolling along Central Avenue (中央大街) amidst the freezing temperatures and biting cold wind, I turned into a small alley. Suddenly, it felt like a portal to another dimension had opened. There, I found old wooden stairs, raw wooden beams, the scent of wood mixed with warm coffee, and books stacked as if floating in mid-air. Wow... this isn't just an ordinary café; it's like a scene from a magical school. Warm golden lights cast shadows of books on wooden walls, and every corner is picture-perfect, especially the "spiraling floating books" spot—it's the highlight!

Let the freezing cold stay outside because inside, it's warm and cozy like old Europe. Soft conversations and gentle background music make it feel like you're in a novel. This unexpected surprise turned out to be the best moment of the trip.

📍 Location
Central Avenue, Harbin
Known by locals as:
“中央大街哈利波特魔法屋”
Located in a small alley near the main street (around No. 37).

💰 Approximate Prices
Drinks: 35–60 yuan

⏰ Best Time to Visit
Evening to night (the lights are stunning).
Winter is the best season as it's cold outside but warm inside.

🚶♀️ How to Get There

Or call a Didi to "中央大街" and walk into the alley.

Buffet – Hot dishes are constantly replenished, fresh fruits are excellent and generously served.
Walking zone – Ancient-style halls, truly reminiscent of Europe.
You can spend an entire day here without feeling guilty!

A very beautiful and interesting place for a stroll, just like the Arbat in the city center.

It's a pleasant place to stroll both during the day and in the evening, and you can find something interesting at any time of day.

The street is currently decorated with lanterns and other displays dedicated to the New Year.

During the day, it's worth strolling to admire the unusual building facades, architecture, and signs, and in the evening, enjoy the street illuminated.

In the evening, the street takes on a new look when all the lanterns are lit, the lights are on, literally every bench is lit, and music is playing 💫

There are many places to eat along the street, as well as numerous takeaways, and the aromas waft from literally every corner.
We decided to try the waffles with ice cream (pictured in the carousel) - they were delicious, we highly recommend them!

Grab a coffee, some waffles, and take a leisurely stroll... 💫 truly pleasant and romantic moments!

Keep in mind that it can get crowded in the evenings, especially on weekends. So the best time (at least for me) is on a weekday ☺️

Save a spot for a visit!
