5-Star Hotels in Sarawak, Malaysia

For me, nothing was particularly bad, that’s the thing. Everything was okay, comfortable, acceptable…but I didn’t get that “WOW, this is a 5-star hotel!” feeling. The room itself was spacious and comfortable, but I was quite surprised that the tea selection was limited to Lipton, with Nescafé for coffee. I would have appreciated a slightly better selection, perhaps Dilmah or a few different varieties of tea. It may seem like a small detail, but these little touches really contribute to the overall premium experience. Breakfast? Okay. Cuma personally I expected a little more variety from a 5-star hotel. Service? Okay. Good. Pool? Nice. Gym? Good. Big View? Very Beautiful. 🌅

Just arrived at the hotel and was informed that there was ongoing water pipe repair work outside, which caused a temporary water disruption during the daytime. We couldn’t shower or wash our hands for a while, which was quite inconvenient. Thankfully, the water supply returned to normal again in the evening. Front desk staff were still very polite and helpful throughout the situation. We booked the Deluxe Single Room, and the king-sized bed was very comfortable and spacious, enough for us two adults and our 2yo child, with plenty of extra space. However, the bed felt slightly damp when we first arrived, but it became better later at night. The hotel also has a family pool and direct beach access, which makes it a great place for families with kids to relax and unwind. The buffet breakfast menu was also quite rich with plenty of choices.

It was a beautiful experience. Our stay in Pullman Kuching is fun. The room is so comfortable and clean. We were surprised because my requests were granted and we were able to celebrate a late birthday celebration for my cousin. Also, the city view from our room is so beautiful and we can see the sunrise. We highly recommend this hotel.

We had a wonderful stay at voco, an IHG Hotel. The hotel was beautiful, clean, and very comfortable, with a modern and relaxing atmosphere. The room was spacious, well-maintained, and had everything we needed for a pleasant stay. The staff were friendly, professional, and very helpful throughout our stay. We really appreciated the excellent service and attention to detail. Overall, it was a lovely experience from check-in to check-out. A great choice for anyone looking for comfort, quality, and good hospitality. We would definitely be happy to stay here again! ❤️

Enjoyed very much. Service was good and staff were friendly and helpful. Shower/changing room not linked but a short walking distance to swimming pool, the unshattered link paths were not well grounded and may cause safety concerns when wet or under rain. Improvement or upgrading measures recommended.

Sedap sangat 😘 Rooms are consistently praised for being spacious, clean, modern, and comfortable, with many guests noting the high quality of amenities and the impressive city views, especially from upgraded suites. The breakfast buffet at the ground-floor Nomadic restaurant receives strong marks for its wide variety of local and international dishes, including standout options like Sarawak laksa, though some guests feel the spread leans more toward quantity than consistent quality. One of the hotel’s greatest strengths is its staff, who are widely described as friendly, helpful, and efficient, making guests feel welcome throughout their stay. Kudos to Noraishah, staff from Nomadic Cafe. She's totally a star 🌟

We had a lovely 3D2N mother-daughter and intergenerational friends’ stay at Cove 55, Santubong, and it was exactly the sort of peaceful break we were looking for. The grounds are beautiful and very calming, with a real sense of tranquility and serenity. The staff were lovely — warm, attentive and thoughtful throughout our stay. Our mothers are in their 80s, and the pace and setting were perfect for them. Two nights felt just right for a restful getaway. The room was spacious, bright and comfortable. The bed was firm and very comfortable, and the air-conditioning was powerful — an absolute godsend in the Santubong heat. The complimentary water, coffee and tea provided were adequate. The weather was generally nice, although scorching during certain parts of the day, so we were glad to have a cool room to retreat to. Our stay was simple and very enjoyable: we basically ate, chatted and swam. The food was good quality, with generous portions, and we were very satisfied with the meals. The place feels lived in rather than brand new, but it is respectably clean. I would not describe it as immaculate, but it is by far cleaner than many hotels and retreats in Kuching. The only thing I wish we had done differently was to request ground-floor rooms in advance. As our mothers are in their 80s, it would have been easier for them to avoid climbing the stairs. For anyone travelling with elderly guests or anyone with mobility concerns, I would suggest requesting ground-floor rooms when booking. Overall, Cove 55 is a beautiful, serene place for a quiet escape, especially for families or friends wanting to slow down and spend time together. I would happily recommend it.

I had a very pleasant and satisfying stay at the Waterfront Hotel. The location is excellent, with easy access to the mall, plenty of options for food, and convenient shopping nearby. The room was spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped with complete amenities. The view was amazing, especially at night when we could enjoy the beautiful DUN lit up. ✨ And the indoor pool is to die for! 🏊♀️❤️ The kids enjoyed it so much! Even with the haze outside, we could still have fun and enjoy some quality family time in a comfortable indoor setting. Overall, a very comfortable, convenient, and family-friendly stay. Definitely a place we would happily come back to! 😊

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent Stay & Delicious Dinner I had a very pleasant stay at Riverside Majestic Hotel. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. One of the highlights was having dinner at the Puteri Lounge. I enjoyed the braised beef short ribs served with mashed potatoes and vegetables. The beef was tender, flavorful, and very satisfying. I also had a hot cup of coffee, which was the perfect complement to the meal. Overall, it was a relaxing stay with good food, great service, and a comfortable atmosphere. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Kuching. Highly recommended! 😊

I have a bussiness event in Miri Mariott Resort & Spa. The view was perfectly serene. The hospitality was top notch, from the warm receptionist at check-in, to the friendly cafe baristas, and the always-helpful concierge team. The resort has 3 swimming pools in total. The breakfast was brilliant. A wide variety of foods, different types of fresh juices, and the menu changed slightly throughout my 2 days stay, which kept it interesting. We particularly loved the smell of the shower gel, its ingredients include aromatherapy essential oil which was very calming. The hot water in the washroom worked perfectly and consistently.
