Very Good
GGuest UserThis is by far the best hostel I stayed at, in spite of the number of occupants. I was lucky to have very quiet boys in the room. There’s only one bathroom, connected to the room, but it worked.
The hostel is new, modern and spotless.
The owner is very friendly.
The hostel is also 5 minutes walk from the beach.
It was perfect.
It’s a long walk to Albufeira from the city buses, and not very clear where the FlixBus stops. I wouldn’t recommend walking from the train station, which took me 4 hours. There’s a local bus, don’t scrimp = TAKE IT. Or take an Uber, or Bolt. Or ask the taxi what he wants to charge from the bus stop at the train station !
The RedeExpress is where the bus station is (but not for the FlixBus).
In summary, you can go to Albufeira by FlixBus, but it’s difficult to know where FlixBus leaves Albufeira from.
That all said, Albufeira is very difficult in high season, TOO CROWDED, but the Portuguese are tolerant and very patient because they know that tourism is lucrative and has raised the whole country out of poverty. Residents enjoy cheap and / or free public transport on local buses (cheap monthly passes).
Residents are respectful and kind.
You can practice your Portuguese with them for a laugh, but they all speak English to varying degrees.
Here you can meet real residents. On the beach, not necessarily in the pubs.
I loved it here. Don’t miss it.
EEviMitaleIn the heart of Lagos' old town, this hostel offers a peaceful retreat just steps away from vibrant restaurants, shops, and the Praia da Batata. The check-in process is seamless, with staff providing a thorough introduction to the facilities. While the atmosphere is quiet and unaffected by nearby nightlife, you are perfectly positioned to explore the stunning coastal cliffs and Ponta da Piedade.
The clean dormitories feature comfortable beds equipped with individual lamps and power sockets, and although lockers carry a €1 daily fee, fresh towels and bedsheets are provided for free. Guests have access to a well-stocked kitchen—complete with modern hotplates and a variety of cookware—which opens onto a small inner courtyard perfect for dining or socializing. Overall, the service and functional amenities make it a top-value choice for a budget-friendly stay in the Algarve.
GGuest UserMy single room was not ready before check-in time, but that was fine. Of course, the room had to be cleaned first. However, in this case, I would have preferred a clean, functional room. The bath was dirty and had old marks on it, and water was leaking from the shower and tap. Consequently, the bathroom was flooded every time I took a shower. The towels smelt funny. The bedroom itself was clean, but the light was flickering.
On a positive note, the staff were very friendly and the outside terrace was beautiful.
SSonya88Of the pluses:
The apartments are small but quite comfortable. The main + for me is having a washing machine that also dries clothes well. Location is good, there are all the dishes and everything necessary for cooking, pillows, pads, tugging, vent
Minorities:
”to get the keys you need to go to another address and it is not mentioned! I spent about an hour trying to call them to find out where their office is, it's horrible! Although the guys in the office are very nice, to call/to finish this separate quest!
- it smells so much moisture and black mold, for more than 2 nights I wouldn 't stay only because of health threats
”This is the first floor, and the windows are without grids! So when you can no longer breathe black moth and want to open the window, it turns out that any passing person can climb into the window to you!
LleeniThe location is good, about a 20-minute walk from the train station and bus terminal, and it's very close to the center. The staff are also friendly. The kitchen is a bit small and there is one bathroom for both men and women on each floor, so it's best to avoid busy times. There is a bar on the first floor that is open late, so it can be a bit noisy at night, so it may be difficult for sensitive people.
GGuest UserIt was great and wonderful to stay at the hostel in Tavira. The staff was very friendly and met some wonderful people during my stay. The room got AC which was great and the place was clean as well. The breakfast was really delicious. I would definitely recommend the hostel if anyone staying in Tavira
YyucacciaFirst of all, I'm really loving Faro!
The staff here are all very nice and helpful.
At the beginning of the night, the window was open, so it was a bit noisy and hard to sleep. But someone in the room turned on the AC, which made it better in the end.
The shower and bathroom were average, but the public area was cozy and comfortable.
I didn't join, but they also offer some special dinner options.
It was just a one-night stay, but overall, a good place to stay.
GGuest UserThis was the worst hotel. The room had mold in the closet which made the room smell horrible. Our eyes were burning and we had to sleep with the windows open. Sheets were dirty, probably mold. The walls were extremely thin and we could hear people talking and moving around. There was feces on the floor in the bathroom near the lobby. When we complained about the mold the receptionist just thanked us for letting her know.
GGuest UserThis was such a beautiful stay. All the staff there were so lovely and accomodating. When arrived we were told we had a room upgrade which was amazing, we also had a bus which didn’t leave until later and the staff were lovely enough to let us leave our bags and hang around until we needed to go. The pool is area is beautiful and so spacious, there is also an amazing restaurant next door.
