Awesome! Very very satisfied with our stay at Pomelo. There’s location is great, we are just a few minutes walk from Thamel, 20 minutes walk from Sayambhu, 10 minutes taxi from Balaju… Now the service, it was the best part in the inn, the staff is really very friendly and accommodating, thank you Gyanu and Kamal who helped us for everything during our stay. We booked two rooms as a family, but we got one big family room with separated rooms, the beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was big and proper to use. The breakfast is the best one we had in Kathmandu, fresh and simple. There is a rooftop, from where we took a bowl of air in the evenings and mornings, really nice.
Sara's Backpackers Hotel is really OK. The location is practical, you can get to important places QUICKLY like the Pashupatinath Temple or the Garden of Dreams. The rooms are clean, but a bit simply furnished. WIFI IS free, but sometimes a bit slow.
THE staff is super friendly and helps with everything, whether it's excursions or questions about the area. Breakfast is OK too, but not super special - just typical of the country. The rooftop terrace is a real highlight, a nice view to relax.
There are also bikes to rent, which is cool. A few things could be better, e.g. the beds are a bit hard and the showers could be more modern. Overall, though, it's good value for money.
Would come back if I'm in the area! ⭐⭐⭐⭐
The location is fantastic, right in the潭美區 (Tanmei District), making shopping and dining incredibly convenient. The facilities are decent, especially the bedding, which was very clean. The bedside charging port and individual lighting were great, and both the pillows and duvet were comfortable. The service at the front desk on the second floor was very friendly; they even proactively offered travel information. While they did introduce some short-term tour packages, they weren't pushy at all. The only real inconvenience was not being allowed to do laundry on-site.
The price of the shared room seems reasonable considering the quality and location—close to the heart of Thamel. However, the room is a bit small, and during hot seasons, dealing with the heat without AC can be a challenge. I’d like to highlight the excellent reception service, especially from Mónica, who was very attentive and always willing to chat or help with anything. I’m truly grateful for the staff’s hospitality.
The owner was very kind, and it's a great value for money. Hot water worked well too. There was some noise in the surroundings, but it seemed okay when I was sleeping.

The room was quite clean and tidy. The hot water was great, just had to wait a bit for it to heat up. Breakfast included eggs, bread, and bananas. It was a great value for the price, especially having a private room.

It's a little bit of a walk from the Thamel area and in a secluded location, but it wasn't inconvenient for sightseeing.
I stayed in a 6-person dormitory on the top floor, and the shower toilet was clean and acceptable.
There was also toilet paper provided, so I think this hostel is within the acceptable range for Japanese people.
There is no elevator, so it is a bit difficult to go up and down, but other than that it was a comfortable hostel.
The owner was able to communicate in English via Whatsapp and was quick to respond to various questions and tour requests.
I organized a half-day hiking tour of Nagarkot, which included a guide and car for about 17,000 Nepalese rupees.
Very good hotel can’t complain at all I’m going to extended longer very good price location clean happy to stay here

AAnonymous UserLocation is alright, there’s occasional cockroaches running past you when you are in the room, cleanliness has a lot to improve on. Worst part is that I booked a single room and was given a room next to the elevator with a window without curtain, anyone tall enough would be able to look into my room and everything in it, to add on to that, the room was next to the elevator and you can hear every footstep and noise/chat coming from the corridor, and when the elevator moves, there’s this super unnecessary music that runs with it so you would get a sense of that throughout the day and night. When I went to the receptionist to ask for a different room, she told me there’s no other rooms available and I have to pay an extra 1500 rupee to upgrade to a different room, that amount, adding with the original I paid for- would already be much higher than a standard deluxe room. Obviously she and the hotel was trying to scam me by leveraging on giving a super lousy room at first. Even though they eventually agreed to change room for me at no charge, I was honestly traumatised by this hotel and was uncomfortable through the stay. Then at check-out in the next morning, the guy was reluctant to let me go asking if I had already paid and making calls to confirm about it. Overall there’s surely better rooms for similar price in Thamel, so do try to skip this hotel unless you like some good memorable reasons to spoil your trip.
ZZhangmingruThis trip to Nepal was a great experience staying at Flock Hostel! The hostel is clean and tidy, and the environment is quiet and pleasant. The front desk staff are excellent, whether they are handsome guys or gentle beauties, they are all warm and considerate. Every time I go out to take a taxi, they will take the initiative to help contact the driver, making the journey worry-free and safe.
KKekoraI stayed here near the airport in preparation for my flight the next morning. When I asked the staff about the breakfast time, I got different answers depending on who I asked. When I went to the breakfast venue in the morning, it wasn't ready yet, so I had them call my room when it was ready.
The showers are quite local and don't come with a conditioner, so if you want to use them, it's better to bring your own.
It was helpful to be able to pick up and drop off from the hotel to the airport.

GGuest UserI booked this hotel for an overnight stay before my flight back home, as it coincided with election day. I chose it because of the positive reviews from Japanese guests. I checked in around 5 PM, and the staff greeted me with big smiles. I was instantly delighted to see Doraemon playing in Hindi on a screen in the entrance lobby! The room was incredibly spacious for one person, and I could relax by watching YouTube, Nepalese TV, and dramas on the TV. I was surprised to find a toilet with both large and small flush buttons, which is rare in Nepal. The shower room was also very large and had a shower curtain, making it very comfortable. I also enjoyed the breakfast, which was substantial and delicious.

Good hotel if you are travelling on a budget while enjoying a nice Nepali deco with a patio-stupa in the center of the property.
Room was pretty old but reasonable for the price!
