Nice place, clean and safe in a good location, although the street is busy during the day it is not loud. The staff was friendly and always available, easily booked trips to the islands and Shuttle to the airport. Great value for money, would stay again.
So glad I chose Alice Home! The Beijing boss is incredibly hospitable, and our remote communication was always pleasant and easy. He's super efficient! Their place was the most spacious and comfortable I found in Semporna for the same price point, and my kid even got to watch TV. The location is super convenient, close to the center and the jetty, and there are two highly-rated 4.8 Chinese and Western restaurants right outside. Plus, it's a rare quiet spot, and the entrance is well-lit. The island-hopping tour team recommended by the boss was also fantastic; they had a dedicated person accompanying my 5-year-old in the water, which made my child incredibly happy and me feel completely at ease. Next time I come, I'll definitely book in advance and only stay here! đđ

For the budget traveler this hotel is more than enough. They provide sea view from balcony and the capsule is not big and not small. Plus point they have lift so if you bring a luggage you'll be fine. They also provide women only room and locker for your luggage. The staff are so funny and helpful too you'll feel less lonely haha. I meet and talk to other soloist, very nice experience. The thing that you may notice they don't provide breakfast and you can't cook here. So be prepared to bring your own meals. Oh there is a washing machine inside but you need to pay for 8 pieces

Plenty of parking spaces around, convenient stores, restaurants well within walking distance. Away from main road, quiet environment if you are ok with the sound of airplane landing or taking off since it's very near airport. Some of the wall mounted power sockets need to be replaced cause they're not working properly. Other than that, no major complaints.

The hotel room was clean. Amenities provided are shampoo and body soap. The location from the town area is quite central. It's easy to park a car, not a busy road. It's located at the back of Plaza Shell. A water dispenser is the only thing missing from the hotel, so next time when you want to stay, make sure to buy one drinking water for yourself. Anyway there are convenience stores nearby the hotel.
The facilities are old, but it's OK for a short stay. There are a lot of birds outside, so be careful of bird droppings. You can't eat in the room, but you have to eat in the lounge, which requires a deposit of MRY100.

Hotel located at api2.. walking distance to KK downtown.. room large.. comfort bed.basic amenities provided.. definitely worth money and will stay again
The only reason I stayed here was because of it location near to the airport. Everything else is good in terms of experience except I was imposed with liability costing RM10 for soiling one piece of their towel. The soiling happened because I walked outside after the rain and my foot got into a mud spot. I came back to my room and I accidentally stepped on the towel. Bear in mind, I had to book their largest room meant for 4 pax because that was the only one available even though I stayed alone. Considering the occupancy is low for that large room, soiling one piece of towel does not justify a RM10 liability damage.
The boss is very nice, close to the sea, the bed is clean and hygienic, the price is cheap, it is recommended for single people

BBarathi*Honest Review: Comfortable Stay but Disappointing Service Transparency*
Me and a group of colleagues chose Wendu Inn during our recent work trip to Kota Belud, and Iâd like to share an honest reviewânot just a general star ratingâbecause the experience was a mix of excellent and disappointing aspects.
Pros: đđđđđ
⢠The check-in process was smooth and efficient.
⢠Cleanliness and room comfort are top-notchâdefinitely 5-star worthy, especially for a small town like Kota Belud.
⢠The view from the cafÊ and the convenience of having a minimart downstairs were truly added bonuses.
⢠We genuinely appreciated the effort put into making the place cozy and welcoming.
But here comes the downside:
We booked our rooms with breakfast included, which is supposed to be served at their cafĂŠ. However, this was where things went wrong.
1ď¸âŁ When we went for breakfast, there was no proper display or explanation about the free breakfast options. What was openly displayed was a menu with both breakfast (no prices shown) and lunch items (with prices).
The actual complimentary breakfast choices were hidden away in a folder behind the counterânot visible to guests. Naturally, thinking the displayed breakfast options were part of our package, we made our choices and presented our coupons at the counter. The staff accepted the coupons without saying a word. Only after finishing our meals were we surprised with a bill, leaving us feeling misled and frustrated.
2ď¸âŁ The counter staffâs customer service was below expectations.
When we requested an official receipt for work claims, we were repeatedly told to refer to the booking website. Even after explaining that we needed an original stamped receipt, the answer was simply: âWe donât have an original stamp.â
For a hotel catering to business travelers, this lack of basic documentation support is quite inconvenient.
Final thoughts:
Would I recommend Wendu Inn? Yesâfor comfort, cleanliness, and its peaceful surroundings.
But be prepared to double-check details around your package (especially meals), and donât expect much assistance from the front desk when it comes to paperwork or clarifications.
Mmrjoelam⢠Stunning Mount Kinabalu Views â Clear, close-up views of the mountain from rooms and balconies, especially at sunrise.
⢠Cool & Peaceful Atmosphere â Located in Mesilau at high altitude, offering fresh air, quiet surroundings, and a nature escape.
⢠Comfortable Rooms â Spacious, clean, and many with private balconies to enjoy the scenery.
⢠On-site Restaurant â Serves tasty and reasonably priced meals, with breakfast, lunch, and dinner available.
⢠Friendly & Helpful Staff â Known for warm hospitality and accommodating special requests.
⢠Convenient Facilities â Free parking, airport shuttle service, and family-friendly room options.
You can enjoy breakfast at the hotelâs restaurant while watching the morning mist roll over Mount Kinabalu right from your table.
GGuest UserItâs similar to hotels/guesthouses in China, and much simpler than domestic budget hotel chains such as Home Inns or GreenTree Inn. Hotels in Sabah generally feel two stars lower than those in China. The one I stayed in in Kota Kinabalu is owned by Marriott The Le MĂŠridien hotel is also comparable to domestic All Seasons hotels, so donât expect too much.
The sanitation is quite clean, and there are often people chanting sutras with loud speakers in the morning and evening... overall it's not bad.
It is two kilometers away from the pier and takes a taxi for 6-8RM. You can go to the seafood market to bargain for dragon knives, which is quite fun!
AAnonymous UserThis is the sort of place where the staff will always greet you with âhello, sir/ma'amâ whenever they see you. Nice swimming pool and very good food at the restaurant, even though slightly pricy at first (I guess it's fine being a resort), the portions are actually huge and very fresh. Try their lemon chicken on rice for 20 ringgit (February 2024). All you can eat breakfast included for free even with the dorm bed: fried noodles, a very thick pancake, fruit, British breakfast, beef sausages, coffee, juice, etc. Walk-in price is 80RM, cheaper here on Trip. The dorm looks exactly the same as the one I staid in Kinabatangan, which is always funny (same contractor?). Comfortable night, with a new AC and fan, specially so considering I had it all to myself since the other few guests they had had private accommodation. Dorm showers have plenty of hot water and are clean, but there's no soap or amenities beyond the towel they give you at check-in. Bring your own. The staff at the restaurant sometimes disappears for no reason in the middle of service, even if there's about 20 of them considering rĂŠception is right there. They helped me book a taxi to the airport (50 ringgit), since there's no grab available (spent 1h looking for one). Don't bother trying to get one, ask them to call a taxi for you, really. This resort is about 1km away from the three main things to do at sepilok. You will be walking on the side of the road to get anywhere since transportation options are scarce and expensive. Overall this is standard of service here in Borneo, so don't settle for less than this.
PPoole92It was located well next to the Orangutan sanctuary. Had a nice pool, with a scenic walk to get there.
The breakfast was really nice, and changed slightly each day. Rooms were cleaned daily. Our room didn't have AC, and the WiFi didn't. No free water is provided, and it's overpriced to buy. There is a very small shop that sells it cheaper close to the resort.
BBAL.RSure! Here's a **single, concise review** of a vacation at **Kundasang Mount Garden**:
---
**âA peaceful mountain escape with stunning viewsâ**
I stayed at Kundasang Mount Garden for a short getaway, and it was a refreshing break from city life. The scenery was absolutely breathtakingâMount Kinabalu right in view, misty mornings, and cool, crisp air all day. The room was clean, spacious, and had everything I needed, including a small kitchen and private balcony.
The garden outside is lovely, with flowers, vegetables, and even a little stream. Itâs very quiet and perfect for relaxing. However, getting there was a bit trickyâthe road is narrow and steep, so Iâd recommend using a 4WD. Also, the hot water was a bit unreliable
