At first, I was quite shocked by the room I was given because it had not been cleaned yet. The room was dirty and the bed linens hadn’t been changed. I immediately informed the staff about the situation.
After I told them, the staff explained that the room was actually not supposed to be given out due to an air-conditioning issue, and that was why it hadn’t been prepared. They then moved me to another room.
Overall, the replacement room was clean, comfortable and in good condition. The staff were very responsive and cooperative in solving the issue. Although the stay started off poorly, the staff’s quick action helped improve the overall experience.
this is a cosy little hotel. it's in a nice location and eothin steps to local bus stop and a short walk to komtar bus terminal too. i do like the hotel but i do have some sincere suggestions to hotel operator to make this hotel a little nicer next time.
1. the indian livehouse next door does pump loud music from 10pm-2pm. hotel should try a thick curtain on the windows to absorb the sound. sound absorbing curtain are inexpensive if buy direct from china.
2. hotel staff should replenish toilet paper daily in common toilets. instay there 6 days and notice they do so only every 2 days.
3. all the pillows are super high and hard ones. toilet should purchase some medium height softer ones that guest can ask upon request.
thank you
The room environment was great, very clean, and I was really satisfied. It's definitely worth the price, and very convenient for getting around. It was so good that I extended my stay for many days. I'm very happy with it! There's a food court nearby, which is really close, and it's also near a shopping mall.

I booked this hotel for friends, and they really enjoyed their stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff was very kind and helpful. Everything went smoothly with the check-in, and the location was convenient. I'm happy with the choice and would book it again
I booked the balcony room for 2 night
The first night I got the balcony room but it was so small.
But gratefully I can change for the second day.
So next time u book a balcony room, make sure to book room no. 205
Bigger and the bathroom has a huge door to the balcony as well.
The location is soooooo convenient. Bus no. 101 and 102 literally stop next to the hotel.
The other bus line is just a 5 minute walk.
Many street food nearby
We had an amazing stay at Gather Inn in George Town, Malaysia. The hosts were absolutely brilliant — so attentive, welcoming, and always happy to help with anything we needed. The room was spotless, with great facilities and everything maintained to a really high standard. The air conditioning was fantastic, which made such a difference in the heat and kept the room super comfortable. The location was also perfect: very close to the centre and all the main attractions, yet tucked away in a quiet area so we could get a great night’s sleep every night. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting George Town!
I stayed in the female dorm, and everyone was very respectful of personal space; it wasn't noisy at night. Lights out was promptly at 11 PM. The only downside is that it's located above a bar street, and the soundproofing isn't great, so you can hear music at night. It felt very safe here, with each room having a password lock, and all the guests were polite and considerate. The room had no windows, which led to a slight odor, but the air conditioning ran 24/7 (and was adjustable), so it could get a bit cold at night. The bed was a super single size, big enough for two of me, with plenty of space and a comfortable mattress – no sagging whatsoever. The bedside lamp had adjustable brightness, and each bunk had curtains, so you wouldn't disturb others' sleep. WiFi was available in the room. The common area had no air conditioning, only fans, but there was a hot/cold water dispenser, disposable cups, coffee, and dishes/cutlery. The restrooms were relatively clean, equipped with shower gel and a water heater, but no hairdryer. A slight inconvenience was that male staff would come in at 12 PM on checkout days to change sheets and clean, even if other guests were still in the dorm, but they were respectful and didn't bother me; I just kept my curtains closed. Overall, I was very satisfied. The price was cheap, it was a 15-minute walk from the train station, and the central location made it convenient to get everywhere. I'd definitely come back! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
It's a bit far from George Town's main attractions, so it's really quiet at night. It's about a 10-15 minute walk, but it gets too hot during the day. 😂 You need to wear slippers inside. There's a water dispenser with hot and cold water. You can temporarily store luggage in the waiting area, and the self-service laundry room is a great plus! 👍🏿 The operating hours are from 3 PM to 10 PM (this was for another room type I booked, which I felt wasn't as soundproof).
Let's start with the praise. The location is perfect for those who wants to venture and walk around Georgetown. Perfect for food hunters, just a few steps to famous eateries.
Amenities were pretty standard where you have to ask for it eg hairdryer. Ironically, an iron and ironing board is provided in the room instead. It's time to change the pillows too.
Now comes the bad. We booked a family room and it was big with 2 queen beds. However the location of the aircon is really a mystery. I cannot phantom why it was placed in a hidden slot in the middle of the room, blowing towards the wall instead towards the bed. The second queen bed couldn't feel the aircon at all. I sincerely hope that the management would relocate it.
Other than the aircon, we enjoyed our stay. Will we come back? Maybe.
The accommodation is in a tourist area, so food is readily available as soon as you step out. It's also close to the bus terminal, making travel convenient. The room is a bit small, but it wasn't uncomfortable for a solo traveler. They provide a hairdryer, drinking water, shampoo, toothbrush, and towels. No adapter is needed for the power outlets. The accommodation feels safe, especially for women traveling alone. Overall, it's good, and I'd stay here again if I have the chance.

GGuest UserThis was a temporary stopover near the airport. The environment was, to put it mildly, not great. The shower and toilet weren't separated, and as it's a Muslim household, you can't wear shoes inside, which made using the bathroom quite a hassle. Another issue was the significant noise from the road. However, it was cheap and close to the airport, and the host was very welcoming.

GGuest UserOverall, the hotel is clean, but the soundproofing facing the main road is terrible. It's an absolute nightmare for light sleepers. The constant roar of motorcycles, the sound of other guests opening and closing their doors, and even neighbors talking can all be heard. There's a continuous stream of various noises, making it very difficult to fall asleep. The experience was not good at all.

I recently stayed at Ernes Hotel in Seberang Jaya, and I must say—it was a fantastic experience from start to finish! The moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and professional service. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and always willing to help with any requests.
The room was spotless, cozy, and modern, with all the essentials you’d expect from a good hotel. The bed was super comfortable, the air-conditioning worked perfectly, and the free Wi-Fi was fast and reliable. I also appreciated the thoughtful little touches like complimentary water bottles and toiletries.
Location-wise, Ernes Hotel is in a great spot—very convenient for both business and leisure travelers. There are plenty of shops, restaurants, and local attractions nearby, and it's easy to get around the area.
Overall, Ernes Hotel exceeded my expectations. It’s affordable, clean, and offers excellent hospitality. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Seberang Jaya and will happily stay here again on my next trip!
IIMnotGODThe room is small but has everything you need for the price.
It’s suitable for a one-day stay, located next to a 7-11 and Gurney Market, making it easy to get food.
The owner communicates well in advance, and check-in is very straightforward.
The bed is clean and comfortable, perfect for relaxing after a day out.
I recommend this place to travelers who just need a convenient spot to stay.
OOps 500Fifth stay at this Hotel near to good restaurants, sights and shopping. Special mentions for counter staff Ms Lena for going the extra Mike's for changing my level 2 room to level 1 on 2nd day of my 4 days stay, after I mentioned that I've alway on level all my stay. Great value for money Hotel if you just want at clean safe and convenient stay.
GGuest UserI stayed in a simple quad room during my CNY trip to Penang. The location was convenient, especially after crossing the Penang Bridge.
The room was clean and basic, with no TV provided. It has a typical hostel-style setup, but it’s definitely worth the money.
My family enjoyed our stay. The check-in lobby is on Level 9 under Sho Hotel, and the 24-hour counter made everything easy and convenient.
MM_NABEELThe hotel management is good they do the room cleaning service on time and overall the room are spacious and air condition with free wifi and hot and cold water is also there
GGuest UserGreat lobby, clean rooms, but apparently the hotel doubles as a late-night rehearsal studio. Checking in was a breeze and the staff were lovely, but the walls offered no protection from the neighbor who decided 2:00 AM was the perfect time for a guitar solo. If you value a quiet night's sleep, you might want to bring earplugs or hope your neighbors have more common sense than mine did
