The mattress was too soft and uneven, I asked for a replacement but the staff didn't make it, instead they changed the one. I'm glad that they still try to help and in the end I decided to check out one day ahead.
At first, I was quite shocked by the room I was given because it had not been cleaned yet. The room was dirty and the bed linens hadn’t been changed. I immediately informed the staff about the situation.
After I told them, the staff explained that the room was actually not supposed to be given out due to an air-conditioning issue, and that was why it hadn’t been prepared. They then moved me to another room.
Overall, the replacement room was clean, comfortable and in good condition. The staff were very responsive and cooperative in solving the issue. Although the stay started off poorly, the staff’s quick action helped improve the overall experience.
🐾 Purrfect Stay at Red Inn Court! 🌟
The Red Inn Court was a fantastic stop on our trip! The rooms were cozy and clean, and the staff was incredibly welcoming. The location is super convenient for exploring.
The absolute highlight? Watching a super cute cat playing delightfully with guests in the common area! It brought such a warm, homey feeling to the whole place. We loved seeing people interact with the friendly feline. Definitely recommend this charming spot for a wonderful, feel-good experience! 💖
When on to a vacation in Penang and choose to stay at Yan Hotel, 1st of all about this hotel is the strategy of this place which is very convenience and neraby to almost all the tourism attraction restaurants. The price also reasonable for room space given. There is only one issue is the placement of the aircond is not on the correct way of air flow as the bed is place on one side and the the aircond was fixed towards the other direction. So it not helpful or feel comfortable. This issue hope the management can fix.. since they upgrading and renovating the hotel this should be helpful for them to take notice. Overall a good stay there all the staffs are good and helpful except one chinese guy wear specs was so rude and no manners at all to behave towards customers.
It was a breeze to book the hotel. Details were provided promptly to register yourself before they provide the passcodes to enter.
Note that there is no staffs in the hotel. All communications are strictly via WhatsApp and email. Helped a Chinese national to contact the staffs as she has no WhatsApp account. So for foreigners, please note to get the registration done earlier to avoid not able to enter into hotel.
Capsule is quite clean but has a bit of smell. Toilet is ok too. All in all, you get what you pay for.
Always my choice of hotel whenever I have early flight the next day. Close to airport and lots of eateries around. Staffs are always helpful and friendly.

I booked this hotel for friends, and they really enjoyed their stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff was very kind and helpful. Everything went smoothly with the check-in, and the location was convenient. I'm happy with the choice and would book it again
Room is pretty basic. In an old building.
Sound proof not so great.
Ok for a quick 1 night stay. But I won’t stay longer.
Good that they have parking available in front of the hotel.
My family and I stayed at the Fullerton Hotel during our trip to Penang, and it was a great experience.
Check-in and check-out were quick, and the 200 RMB deposit was promptly returned upon departure.
The front desk staff were very nice and helpful.
There's a bus stop right outside the hotel, and getting a Grab taxi is easy. You can even use Alipay for international rides, which links up with Grab.
The hotel is located in the heart of George Town, and almost all the main attractions are within a 1.5 km radius. If you don't mind walking, you can easily get around on foot.
The CAT free bus service is fantastic, and as you can see from the pictures, its stops cover almost all the hot spots.
We even saw a fire show at Western Beach, which is part of our intangible cultural heritage – what a surprise!
Nice location , can acess to everywhere. Room was clean , everything was self check in. No human required,
Just that the bathroom was abit small to move and water was small as well. They provide towels and shower gel and hair dryer.
Night time abit noisy but after 11 will be fine.
So far everything was good

MMuhammad_Ali_HashemiCertainly! Below is a **detailed, balanced, and constructive review template** for **Hangoutspacez Queensbay** (or a similar budget/co-living space in Penang). Since this isn’t a widely documented property, I’ll structure it generically so you can adapt it based on your actual experience.
---
### **Hangoutspacez Queensbay – Honest Review**
**Location: ★★★★☆** (4/5)
- **Pros:** Close to Queensbay Mall (5–10 min walk), easy access to restaurants, supermarkets, and public transport. Convenient for business travelers (Bayan Lepas tech zone) or tourists exploring Penang’s south.
- **Cons:** Not in the heart of tourist spots like George Town (requires Grab/taxi).
**Cleanliness: ★★★☆☆** (3.5/5)
- **Pros:** Daily cleaning for common areas; linens provided are fresh.
- **Cons:** Occasional maintenance issues (e.g., slow drain in showers, worn-out furniture). Budget vibe—don’t expect luxury.
**Facilities: ★★★☆☆** (3/5)
- **Pros:** Free WiFi (decent speed), communal kitchen, and lounge area. Good for solo travelers or digital nomads.
- **Cons:** No gym/pool; shared bathrooms can get crowded during peak hours.
**Staff & Service: ★★★★☆** (4/5)
- Friendly and helpful for local tips, but limited 24/7 front desk support.
**Value for Money: ★★★★☆** (4/5)
- Affordable for Penang (around RM50–100/night for dorms). Ideal for short stays, but may lack long-term comforts.
**Room for Improvement:**
1. **Better Soundproofing** – Noise from common areas can be heard in private rooms.
2. **More Power Outlets** – Limited charging points in dorms.
3. **Clearer House Rules** – E.g., quiet hours or kitchen cleanup policies.
**Verdict:**
A **no-frills, social budget stay** best suited for backpackers, solo travelers, or those attending nearby events. Manage expectations—it’s functional but not luxurious.
---
### **How to Use This Review Constructively:**
- **If You’re a Traveler:** Compare with alternatives (e.g., Tune Hotel, capsule hostels). Prioritize location vs. price.
- **If You’re the Property Owner:** Address cleanliness/maintenance, add clear signage for rules and maybe create any accessible lockers available to utilize the space in the efficient manner.
KKrisma Magdalena AdiI booked the balcony room for 2 night
The first night I got the balcony room but it was so small.
But gratefully I can change for the second day.
So next time u book a balcony room, make sure to book room no. 205
Bigger and the bathroom has a huge door to the balcony as well.
The location is soooooo convenient. Bus no. 101 and 102 literally stop next to the hotel.
The other bus line is just a 5 minute walk.
Many street food nearby
VVivian NoraI mean what could possibly ask for a lot with this price but the location is convenient after all.The room is small & the toilet is just mobile toilet and the hair dryer was broken when we stayed there but they came & replace it with a new one in the morning.Check in is easy just with passcode but it’s hard to contact to property on time actually. The bed was not too soft but it’s okay for travelers.Overall Clearly needs renovation since the room is dusty & hallway is quite smell.
GGuest UserFor travellers who travel by train, the location is excellent, walkable to the train station. Why walk when you can get a grab car easily? To walk off all the rich food we eat!
The hotel is also within walking distance to the ferry terminal (Penang Sentral). So if you arrive via ferry from Georgetown, no problem! I walked to the ferry terminal to take a ferry to Georgetown!
Adding to the convenience, there is a supermarket and self service laundromat near the hotel.
The hotel has a lift, which is convenient, if you are assigned a higher floor. No need to carry yourself and your luggage to your room. But no chance to work off the extra calories. I'm not complaining, though
Reception is 24 hours. I had to leave very early as I had an early train to catch, but was able to collect back the RM50 deposit. Oh yes, RM2 was collected during check in. Trip.com had informed me at the time of booking, so this is not a surprise to me
The room that was assigned to me is spacious. The bathroom is well laid out. Shower on one side, WC on another side and sink in the middle. Shower gel was provided. Shampoo was not provided. It might be because the gadget for the shampoo container was broken.
I booked a windowless room. But because it was spacious, I did not miss not having a window. I paid a higher price for my room, I don't know why my receipt showed a much lower price.
In summary, I would stay in this hotel again if I go again to Butterworth
Pictures
1: Aircon lobby - such a welcomed relief when coming in from the hot and humid weather
2. The hotel's room rated
3. My room rate, which is different from what I had paid in advance to trip.com
4. Door to the bathroom
5. Above the WC, racks for drying wet stuff, very hardy
7.The missing shampoo container
6.The ceiling of the lift - pretty and classy
8. Don't lose your receipt. You need it to claim back your deposit
9. The supermarket nearby
10. The laundromat
JJagtish RajendranNice budget hotel in a convenient location. The room was clean and comfortable for a short stay, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Great option if you’re looking for an affordable stay near Bayan Lepas and the airport
GGuest UserThis was a temporary stopover near the airport. The environment was, to put it mildly, not great. The shower and toilet weren't separated, and as it's a Muslim household, you can't wear shoes inside, which made using the bathroom quite a hassle. Another issue was the significant noise from the road. However, it was cheap and close to the airport, and the host was very welcoming.
AAlfredo KA nice capsule bed. i had a quiet night and very pleasant stay here for the 3D2N.
The Location, cleanliness, and service are all excellent. Another thing is that we were able to enjoy and experience the breathtaking New Year's countdown fireworks from the historic skyline of Georgetown City at the hotel's common area terrace. See the photo taken during that time below.
First of all, the hotel itself is absolutely beautiful.
The Malaysian Chinese lady owner was incredibly kind and always willing to help, which made my stay feel even more welcoming and personal.
As soon as you step outside the hotel, many major tourist attractions are within walking distance, so the location is very convenient.
Aside from that, the room was very clean, cozy, and charming, perfectly capturing the old Penang vibe.
Overall, it’s a simple, compact, and lovely hotel that I truly enjoyed and would happily recommend.
Overall, the experience at the hotel was really fun, there are many good features about it, such as the location, and the facilities.
And the price is affordable too. Thanks for a wonderful time. Housekeeping change towel every day.
Is a Great location, lots of restaurants, great staff, the bathroom is downstairs but it's OK. I would definitely recommend it
Basic but all you need for a short stay! Great wifi and aircon, and such a convenient location.
GGuest UserThe accommodation is in the heart of the tourist area, with staff available 24/7. Downstairs there are restrooms, a vending machine, and a microwave. The rooms are quite soundproofed, and the beds are very comfortable. The room was clean, but the glasses had signs of use, some with lipstick marks. The water was bottled, so I wasn't entirely confident drinking it. Overall, I liked it. Booking a room for four people made the price very cheap when shared.
