Red Inn Court

I booked the 4-bed dorm thinking that only 4 guests would use the shower & toilet. But apparently, the 2 shower-toilet combined were used by all the other rooms & dorms. It was getting awkward with many females frequently entering the washroom area. A room no.205 has access directly through the washroom.. Weird! (picture attached). I could hear some odd conversations between 2 boys & a girl from that room while brushing teeth in the morning. The dorm which was sufficient only for one single bed is filled with 2 bunk beds, so there is no space at all in the dorm room. You have to directly jump onto the bed. My dorm room was on second floor with no elevator. The only 3 good points about this hostel are that they provide a towel for hostel beds, is located on a main street in Georgetown, and has complementary breakfast for everyone (bread-butter-jam, tea-coffee, and watermelon). Wifi & AC were good.

1.The toilet door could not be locked properly, which was inconvenient and affected privacy. 2.The receptionist, cleaner was unfriendly and always looked unhappy. Guests expect a welcoming attitude, but it felt like we were paying to see a black face throughout our stay. 3.The hostel has a strange slipper policy. Even if you bring your own indoor slippers, you are not allowed to wear them from the staircase to your room. 4.The upper bunk beds have no safety guard rail. If someone moves a lot while sleeping, there is a risk of falling from the bed. 5.Another inconvenient design is that the power socket is built inside the locker. Once the locker is locked, you cannot easily access or change your electronic devices, such as charging your phone. MUST improvement to provide a safer and more comfortable experience for guests.

Everything was so good! Breakfast is nice, it’s simple but nice :) the room is also comfortable, AC is working well, shower and toilet are clean. The location is very close to tourist spots :) highly recommended!

My stay at Red Inn Court was disappointing. The property has no lift and steep stairs, making access difficult. Breakfast was very limited—only watermelon & tea/coffee and toast provided, and staff refused to top it up even an hour into the breakfast slot. Staff were rude, dismissive, and hypocritical about “hygiene”: they enforced a no-shoes rule but refused daily housekeeping, and even told guests to wash their own dishes, which is unheard of in a hotel! Stayed in dozens & first time 😂 The atmosphere felt uncomfortable, with staff constantly on their phones yet one hovering over us in a creepy way. The AC was weak, paint peeling, mould in the bathroom, hair left from previous guests, and crumbs/stains on the table. Overall, poor maintenance and service made this a very unpleasant stay. Would NOT recommend. Avoid!

The room is really small to accommodate 4 beds so no space to put luggage! The corridor is spacious🤔 no shoes & no visitors allowed! Moreover, the stairs are really steep to climb with luggage 🧳
