A beautiful and modern hostel. Unfortunately I never met any staff member and also no one cleaned or arranged the beds, while I was there. All the lights remained on, even in the dorm and there’s no possibility to turn them off. The dorm itself was unfortunately also quite cold, while all the other spaces were warm and cozy. Otherwise everything was okay. There was a nice common space. But in general it doesn’t feel very safe and organized, as anyone can just enter the hostel and the dorm without any key or password.
Located a bit west of Nara, the Chinese owner is very welcoming and easy to communicate with. They also offer bike rentals, and the prices are very affordable. Overall, it's a pretty good option.
Nice and chill reception. Really feels cozy and informal. Room was clean and simple, tatami mat floor and futon, very comfortable. The warming blanket was amazing! Toilet was super clean, which was such a relief. Very quiet neighbourhood. Close to buss tops and a giant bookshop/starbucks.
It’s a really lovely old Japanese house, but it’s really not been made over into a guest house at all.
1. There are pictures of a bath. It is not in the hotel it is just a separate public bath you have to pay for…
2. They charge for everything including “renting” towels and yukata
3. No noise blocking at all and kids are allowed. It sounds like they are in your room
4. Contactless check in doesn’t feel very safe
This place was so cute and excellent. Staff didn't speak much English, but we were able to communicate easily enough. Room was Japanese Ryokan style. Tatami mats, low table. It had everything needed, shower and toilet in the room too. There is also an onsen that you can reserve for your private use. I asked for a time later at night and they still had one spot available. If you can't get a time then it is ”public use” after 22:00, which seems to mean that you might need to share if others want to join. Location was very good, right in the middle of the historic part of town and a short walk (<5 min) to Nara park to see the deer. Hotel was very nice and clean. I was here in late December and the air conditioning heater in the room was very good too.
The location is right in the shopping street and also at the Kintetsu exit, it is only 15 minutes to go to the park. The staff is warm and courteous, the hot springs are fine but quiet enough. The hotel is old but tidy, there is no daily necessities except old towels, including a blow dryer in the hot spring area, and there is nothing towels lock. Of course, this price can't be too much, remember this is a hotel. I was impressed by the invincible location and courteous staff, I can't say whether I like it or not.
Behind Kofuku-ji Temple, the location is very good, you can see Sarusawa Pond from the window, and there are deer downstairs
Service: The owner is an elderly Japanese couple, very kind, and gave the children a deer souvenir
Facilities: The bathroom is a bit small, and children may bump into things when using the toilet
Lovely Japanese style in with a great location near Nara park. Owner spoke good English and was very kind and helpful. Room was clean and stuff like towels and a toothbrush were provided. The Onsen is open from 17:00 to 23:00 and was a great experience. Can’t recommend this place enough.
GGeraldine MooThe room was really small. I was alone so it's ok for me but I can't imagine two people sharing a room, it would have been very tight. The communal bath is very good tho. So much better to shower there instead. The location is also not as near to the station as I would like it. It's an average kind of hotel. Nothing great but also nothing to complain about.

GGuest UserThe service is very good Japanese-style hotel, the hotel owner will drive to Yoshinoya to pick up and drop off guests. The hotel is very clean and the shoes at the door are always neatly placed. The Japanese-style room is clean and tidy, and the balcony window is a cherry tree. Dinner and breakfast are very rich. Every staff member is smiling and polite. Traditional Japanese style bathing style, indoors and outdoors. There are also free massage chairs in the public area.
BBelle TseI have been to Nara several times and I try a different hotel every time.
Having stayed here, I think I will stay here again when I come to Nara in the future.
As others said, there were deer outside the door in the morning, and the guy at the front desk spoke very good English.
As for parking service, you can rent it from the grocery store opposite
CCrackpotbrainThe room was much larger than normal japanese hotel rooms. There were no bathrooms, so the only way to take a bath was at the onsen. The lady serving us gave some good suggestions for sakura spots, and service was overall pretty good.
GGuest UserI used it on a solo trip.
As in the reviews of other people, the staff really polite and comfortable. Thank you very much.
The size of the private room is enough to sleep. The bedding was clean. However, since it is all made of wood, it may be better not to put delicate materials directly.
The bathroom and shower room were very clean and easy to use.
I would like to use it again when I go to Tenri (Nara). Thank you very much.
