"Large room with a large bathroom (small shower) in an apartment divided into rooms. Very clean. Bed equipped with a foam mattress. Not firm enough for my taste. 2 minutes from the train station. No real breakfast, but packaged biscuits, tea, a coffee machine, and a limited selection of yogurts. Located in a bourgeois building that has been used but is very quiet. The building door doesn't close properly."

"I have only positive things to say about the Victoria Letterario, even after the shock during the check in. Upon arrival for check in, the reception staff told me that my booking was cancelled! I showed them the communication of trip.com 3 days earlier confirming my booking, which their system has not registered. Jorge, the concierge, was very apologetic and offered me the only room available that day which I accepted, while he will get in touch with the intermediary to find out what went wrong. It appears that trip.com and similar platforms purchase the beds in great numbers from a company hotelbeds.com- I went to my room and I came down with my iPad and I and Jorge got in touch with Trip.com via my account. Trip.com replied immediately, confirming my booking and promising that they will get in touch with hotelbeds.com. As it was already 7pm, Trip.com did no manage to get through the staff at hotelbeds. Trip.com advice that if hotelbeds.com did no reply or confirm the booking then I'll have to pay and Trip.com will refund me right away. I was happy with that. I stayed the 2 nights in the hotel, and only the morning of the day I checked out the hotel Victoria Letterario received finally the confirmation of the booking from hotelbeds. Trip.com was every effective in dealing with the issue and I'll use them again and Jorge, at the Victoria Letteriario dealt with the issue very professionally all they way through, so did the manager of the hotel too. Trieste is a small city, and you can walk from the hotel to the major landmarks in 20 minutes. I loved the decoration of the rooms, the bathroom was spacious and the bed very comfortable. The TV channels were all in Italian but I don't care much about the telly when I travel. I enjoyed the buffet breakfast, it has everything that a good hotel breakfast should have and more, namely its attentive staff. A five stars stay!!!"

"I would like to thank them for their overall service. I also hope that they will treat guests from all countries equally. I told the truth, I didn’t rest well on the first night. The sound of running water from the bathroom in other rooms and what was poured along with it, but then I called the front desk to communicate and change it for me. I am very grateful to the male waiter for his understanding and cooperation. I didn’t hear the noise on the second night. Thank you so much, good luck!"

"It's a nice place, very good location, and the staff is very kind and helpful. But this place is not a hostel. It doesn't have a kitchen and there's no common room where normally it's possible to meet and socialize with other travellers. You can stay in the bar that's downstairs, but definitely you don't feel like being in a hostel. The dorm is okay and the beds are comfortable, so it was not bad overall."

"The hotel is in a great location, just across from the marina and within walking distance of major attractions (except Miramare Castle). The family suite was large, but didn't offer a sea view (as the photos on Ctrip show). The hotel provided valet parking, which cost €34.40 a day. Upon check-out, I waited a full 20 minutes for my car, which must have been parked far from the hotel. Furthermore, the hotel management was disorganized. I didn't even have breakfast, but they charged me for it upon check-out. Fortunately, I caught it in time."
