3-Star Hotels in Kumamoto City

it was a very cute place!! the owner seemed like she loved the place very much, and was decorated very nicely. it’s a women’s only hostel, so i was glad that i was born a woman. i got one of the rooms - very clean, and the shred kitchen was nicely decorated. you can see the castle on the rooftop.

This hotel is perfectly located directly opposite Kumamoto Station, just a short walk across the road. The check-in instructions were very detailed, including information in Chinese on how to use the password lock, the onsen (hot spring), and details about drinks and breakfast. I really appreciated the wide selection of pillows and the variety of skincare products offered, including body lotion! It was a lifesaver as I hadn't packed any hand cream or body lotion. The breakfast, featuring both Japanese and Western options, wasn't vast but was thoughtfully prepared and absolutely delicious. The room size was typical for a Japanese hotel, and the soundproofing was excellent; I usually struggle to sleep well, but I had a fantastic night's rest here! The onsen was also a great bonus—perfect for soaking after a day of sightseeing. They even offer evening drinks and a 'goodnight tea'! The hotel management clearly put a lot of thought into traveler needs. I would definitely choose this hotel again on my next trip to Kumamoto! A perfect 10/10 travel experience.

Since I had a 7-day JR Pass, proximity to a JR station was my top priority for this trip. The hotel is very close to the JR station, and it seems to attract a lot of business travelers. My initial impression was that some of the younger staff at check-in lacked a bit of enthusiasm. But I let that slide. After getting to my room, I couldn't find the Wi-Fi password anywhere. I went downstairs specifically to ask, and the response was 'in room'. I still tried to figure it out myself first, searching every corner, but still nothing. So I went back down. The older staff member was very friendly and helpful. As soon as she mentioned 'TV', I immediately understood, as many hotels back home display it on the television. She even drew a diagram to explain! Usually, when you enter a room and the power comes on, the TV turns on automatically, and you'd see it. But this time, I had to turn the TV on myself, which I hadn't thought of. It just goes to show that service attitudes can vary among different staff. In Japan, I've always admired the professionalism across all industries, but this was the first time I've encountered such a service attitude from a staff member. Overall, this hotel's proximity to the JR station and its excellent value for money make it worth staying at.

Although they have a private carpark by side of the hotel, there was a parking fee charge of 2,000yen. But you're guaranteed a parking spot if you come back later at night. There are more parking lots in the multi storey carpark by side of the hotel. The hotel is very clean and I think it's relatively new. The front desk reception was very friendly n helpful. They also have a guest lounge on the ground floor next to the reception. Free flow of coffee and soft drinks plus some alcohol choices like sparkling wine. The lounge is open to hotel guests from 3pm to 11pm. They also provide coffee to go. The first 2 pictures is the view from our room. Across the highway from the hotel there's a Daisy & an Aeon supermarket. Very convenient to grab some food n light groceries. It's a good location to be in. I'll definitely be coming back to this hotel.

From the moment I checked in until I checked out, the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. They greeted me every time we crossed paths, and on the morning of my second day, they even called to ask if I wanted my room cleaned. I asked for just extra towels instead of a full cleaning, and they happily provided them. When I needed to use the washing machine but only had a 500 yen coin, they gladly exchanged it for 100 yen coins without any fuss. The hotel's location is fantastic – literally a minute's walk from the arcade shopping street. There are plenty of great restaurants and izakayas nearby, and both Sakuramachi and Kumamoto Castle are within walking distance, which was a huge plus. The room itself was the perfect size for one person, so I'd definitely consider staying here again if I travel solo. I didn't use the public bath because of my tattoos (I didn't ask if it was allowed), but the bathtub in my room was great for a relaxing soak. There are also two convenience stores right in front of the hotel, perfect for grabbing snacks.

It's a 5-minute walk from the airport bus stop, in an alley next to an arcade, behind a department store, and within 20 minutes of walking to the south gate of Kumamoto Castle. It's the perfect location for sightseeing in Kumamoto.

Convenience location which able to walk to Kumamoto Castle, Shopping Street. If park car at hotel car park and do not move out, a day, extra charges imposed beside the daily ¥1,200 parking fees. So, location can walk, don't walk, drive out 😅

The tea cup in the room was not clean, i wish the hotel payed more attention to that. The hotel itself is very close to the station and the breakfasts are good, I've been there twice and each time the food was a little different. The staff at reception desk is very helpful

Having lived in Japan for over ten years, I have to commend this hotel. It far exceeded my expectations. 1. Right outside the door is the largest local bus terminal, making it incredibly convenient to get to the airport, Aso, Amakusa, and Fukuoka. 2. The price is half or even less than half of surrounding hotels. I originally had no expectations, thinking it would just be a cheap place to crash. 3. While the hallway decor looks a bit dated, it perfectly aligns with the MUJI団地 (housing complex) design philosophy. You even use a traditional key to open the door. 4. Although the room has an old-style Japanese business hotel decor, it's exceptionally clean and very spacious. The room design is well-thought-out, making it comfortable and secure to use. 5. Both check-in and check-out at the front desk were handled with meticulous care and polite, professional service. This is something even much more expensive hotels I've stayed at elsewhere often fail to deliver. 6. I stayed here for five consecutive nights and had a great experience. I would definitely choose this hotel again for future family trips.

It was a stay with a friend, but it was smooth from reservation to check-in, and the facilities in the room were perfect, so it became very satisfying. I was talking to my friend again to use it. Did the remote control battery on the TV run out? I couldn't use it, so please check it. It was a nice stay. Thank you very much.
