"Positives - location , but due to proximity to temple auto will not go here. so you will need to get down and catch a hand rickshaw everytime.
negatives - no restaurant as mentioned in hotel amenities, no cleanliness, no in room dining , faulty appliances ( in my case geyser) , no tea , no snacks , so you will have to depend on outside restaurant for everything "

Spent a perfect couple of nights with family in Hotel Samudra. we got room number 304 where from balcony you can see the beautiful Bay of Bengal and walk just upstairs in the roof and you have 180 degree view of Puri beach and open sea. What else you need?! The staffs were really cordial and service is bang on time! Everyone has a smiling face in the hotel. The food is very tasty and reasonably priced. This is a beach front hotel a little away from the congested Swarga Dwar hotels. So, those who love nature and solitude, this is a perfect hotel for them. We stayed in AC superior room on the 2nd floor.

We had booked two rooms for 5 guests. We were expecting an additional single cot with bed, that was not available. this option was shown. It’s kinda misleading. There was a weird stink, it was either coming from the a/c filters or the bathroom. The bathroom ceiling had fungus all over. The a/c remotes were not working. The batteries were weak. Had to be tapped on or removed every time we switched on and off. The tap water was leaking from one side in a 30 degree angle and it got our clothes wet. We stayed for 2 days since the booking was already done. The place needs regular maintenance which i believe is lacking now.

The best comment for this place would “COMFORTABLE” our stay was really comfortable there. Really love the rooms and convenience they offered. I liked that the beach was few hundred meters away from the reception.
