2-Star Hotels in Malang City

I had an excellent stay at this hostel! Gabriel took care of everything for me during three magical days: the first day at the sublime Tumpak Sewu waterfall, the second at the impressive Bromo volcanoes, and the third at the fascinating Kawah Ijen, including the ferry ticket to Bali. She helped and guided me via WhatsApp from start to finish with incredible attention, and I truly felt supported from beginning to end... and even after I left! The service was absolutely top-notch, incredibly friendly and professional. Everything was superbly organized and memorable. I recommend it 1000%! Thank you, Gabriel and your daughters! The receptionist was very friendly, explaining all the facilities and showing us to our room. The dorm room and toilet were also clean and fragrant. They lent us towels, had a hot shower, and provided liquid soap. When I booked, I asked for the bottom bunk because I didn't want to climb stairs, but it turned out the stairs were safe to climb. There's a dining area with simple tableware, and you can also use the stove to heat up food. There's a refrigerator and water refills provided. It was a very comfortable stay. Finally really good value for money in Indonesia! After over 3 weeks travelling across the country backpacking solo I finally found this homestay whose actual state coincides with the pictures. The other places I stayed in either were small capsules or dirty and old looking hotels and hostels and I expected the same from this one but it turned out to be a clean and neat place, both room and facilities. The staff doesn't speak great English but their service is good enough. Highly recommended!

The place is very strategic, lots of food around, next to it is also Alfa Mart. Suitable for those of you who are backpackers and don't bring a vehicle. If you bring a private vehicle, the parking is not very suitable because it is narrow, few and hot, even though there is a guard at night. Pretty clean with the competitive prices offered by trip.com. For those of you who bring children, the rooms are quite spacious...so the children have space to play.

The location was very good, everything only a short drive away. Plenty of food options within walking distance, including Rawon Djenggot. The property is an old Dutch house, well maintained and a great place to relax with plenty of seating. Coffee and tea is provided in the mornings. Very comfortable.

Everything else was pretty good, but for the shampoo and soap, there were dispensers but no actual product inside. Also, maybe the towels could be updated, as they're starting to feel a bit stiff. And please, check the TV regularly for any issues! 😁 Other than that, it was okay. For the price, it was definitely worth it. Thank you, Safa Guesthouse.

the hostel is located in the historical center of malang. it has many facilities. the administrative staff is very welcoming. i recommend it to all travelers. taxi is easy to find
