Scenic Hotels in Lisbon

"The hotel is a little over a kilometer downhill from the old town. While it's a bit of a distance from the main tourist attractions, both the bus and metro stations aren't too far, and the surrounding area is very quiet. Taxis are also cheap and convenient. The young front desk staff were all very warm and welcoming; anything we needed was brought up right away. Every night at 10 PM, the hotel has a 15-minute light show featuring many of Lisbon's sights. I missed it the first night, but I made an effort to watch it the second night, and it was quite interesting."

"Very cool, trendy hotel, situated in a very central location. All of the decor and atmosphere was very well thought out and unique. Each floor had a coffee machine with pods of coffee readily available which was very convenient. The rooms were clean and everything worked as it should. Just note, when we were there, there was some construction going on either nearby or in the building that started around 8am each day. We were already up at that time so it wasn't a huge issue but if you plan on sleeping in it may be disruptive."

"VIP Hotel is an absolute gem for value for money. For 800 yuan, you get a room that accommodates four people, and it's spacious! It even has a kitchen fully equipped with a fridge, microwave, coffee machine, cutlery, and plates. We even made delicious dumplings here. It would have been perfect if there was also a kettle. We stayed for three nights, and the front desk kindly agreed to a 1.5-hour late check-out, which was very accommodating, unlike hotels in Madrid that would charge extra. There are two Japanese ramen restaurants and two small supermarkets within a 2-minute walk, and it's about a 10-minute walk to Avenida da Liberdade. Taxis in Lisbon are relatively inexpensive; it cost 30 Euros by taxi to Cabo da Roca (I highly recommend this attraction, it's the westernmost point of continental Europe, where the land ends and the sea begins). It's 10-15 Euros by taxi from Terminal 1 at the airport. Bolt or Uber work great (try to avoid regular taxis, as they tend to overcharge and not use meters; I was overcharged by 15 Euros on my ride from the airport to the hotel. I later realized that the Uber pick-up point at Lisbon Airport is closer and more convenient than the taxi stand, which makes sense to reduce the chances of foreign tourists being scammed by taxis). Overall, I'm very satisfied with this hotel and would definitely stay here again if I have the chance."

"This is an amazing hotel in a perfect location. The hotel decor is a beautiful mixture of white and pale grey. Rooms are very comfortable with a free safe, bottle of water, apples, chocolates, tea and coffee and great walk in shower. In addition they bring round a trolley every night to ask what items you need topping up. I didn't have breakfast at the hotel, but there are loads of local cafes, coffee shops, bakeries, restaurants, supermarkets just minutes from the hotel. The entrance to the Metro at Saldanha is literally outside the hotel doors. So convenient for visiting all the sites. Buy a Navigante card and you can top up amounts so you can use it as zapping. It is also located on the red Metro route directly from outside T1 arrivals and takes around 20 minutes."

"On Lisbon's largest Avenida da Liberdade, the subway is just 20 meters from the hotel entrance. The surrounding area is convenient for shopping and dining. There is a delicious seafood restaurant not far from the hotel. It is best to make a reservation, otherwise the queue will be long. I found that it’s the same as Haidilao in China. If it’s a customer’s birthday, a group of fat uncles will help sing Happy Birthday, which is a very special feeling. The hotel is luxuriously decorated. The front desk and the luggage guy are very enthusiastic. The hotel provides free drinking water, which can be refilled. Every day, there are nut chocolates at the evening party. I am very satisfied with the hotel and recommend staying here."

"Had a truly enjoyable stay! The hotel boasts a prime location that made getting around a breeze. The room was clean, spacious, and offered a relaxing retreat. Big shout out to Mr. Richard and the entire staff for their warm hospitality, they made the experience welcoming. Loved the rooftop bar and swimming pool great vibes and great views. Highly recommend this place for anyone seeking comfort, convenience, and fantastic service."

"The hotel was in a great location very near a Metro station and very central. There were lots of good restaurants near by, which were very reasonable priced. The reception staff were lacking and in need of much better training. They are the face of the hotel and if they are not happy smiling and attentive it leaves a very bad impression with customers. We found them to be very unapproachable and not forthcoming in their assistance. No smile, no cheer, no willingness to assist. In complete contrast Ruben who looks after the breakfast room was caring, happy, attentive and went out of his way and did whatever necessary to make your breakfast as joyful and perfect as possible. The rooms were clean and spacious although we did have an issue with a green flashing light in the room. I called down to reception and they told me how to resolve this. In general I would recommend the hotel but management need to resolve reception staff issues for it to be a great hotel."

"Staying at Moxy Lisbon City was honestly one of the best decisions for my trip to Portugal. The location made exploring Lisbon incredibly easy — close enough to the city center to reach major spots quickly, yet tucked in an area that felt calmer and less chaotic after a long day walking around the city. Metro access and ride options were convenient, which made moving around stress-free. What really made the stay memorable, though, was the staff. Everyone was warm, approachable, and genuinely helpful without feeling overly formal. The Guy with dental braces is kind and helpful, he shows us the “free refilll water” and utensils to eat The room decor was another highlight. The design had that modern, playful Moxy aesthetic — minimalist but still full of personality. Clean lines, smart use of space, soft lighting, and subtle industrial touches gave the room a stylish city vibe without feeling cold. It felt fresh, youthful, and comfortable at the same time — the kind of room you actually look forward to coming back to after a full day in Lisbon."
