"My room wasn’t well cleaned (as you can see in the photos). The toilet paper hadn’t been changed and was already half used. I could also feel the springs in the mattress, which made it uncomfortable. The scariest part was getting locked out on the balcony. There’s a sliding door that closed behind me and locked immediately. I was on the 10th floor and panicked for a moment. Luckily, the second door wasn’t locked (it seemed broken), otherwise it could have been a serious situation. My room was 1011—be careful with the balcony door. The kitchen is very basic: just a stove, fridge, and electric kettle. All cupboards were empty. If you’re staying longer, note that there isn’t even a glass or basic kitchenware. To access the gym, you need to go to the top floor and then climb additional stairs. The stair area smells very bad, and the gym itself also had a strong unpleasant smell with poor ventilation, so I couldn’t use it. The shared bathrooms were also quite dirty. On Trip.com it says late checkout until 2 pm is possible if available. When I asked reception, they said it was available, but only if I left a 5-star review. I chose not to take it. It felt odd, especially since there is a sign in the room saying they want to improve and reward complaints. It feels like this place might have had its charm in the past, but it’s not well maintained anymore. The staff are friendly, so this seems more like a management issue."

"One of the best hotels in BKK if you want to be near the Phnom Penh City Center. It’s quite accessible to almost all of Phnom Penh’s tourist hub like Independence Monument, Wat Phnom, Riverside, Royal Palace and Noh Rea Riverside. Just outside of the Hotel is a wide array of Restaurants, Cafe, shops and Spas that you don’t need to go far just to experience these shops. My only concern is the Hotel amenities which includes no welcome drinks upon arrival unlike other hotels, my room’s balcony view is block by adjacent building, the fridge is completely empty and won’t work as well if ever you want to store some food and drinks, you can almost hear the noise from other rooms which distracts your relaxation and noise from hotel room service boy which almost 1 day cleans other rooms so I was not able to relax completely during my stay there. And aside from this, the Breakfast food is just very simple and bland and tasteless. If you can still find other hotels near the vicinity, you can try first before choosing these hotel"

"Chaiya Palace was awesome... specially the Location is superb, there's a park in front of hotel, then Royal palace, River viewpoint, aeon mall and many more near hotel... We booked 5 rooms (3 double and 2 single) all rooms was clean, very big compare to other hotel...pool, gym, bar, Cafe they have all. Service and security was very good too, clean everyday ❤️...i liked the most was my 12th floor room sunrise view 🌅 at 5.40 am. would definitely Recommend and come back again ❤️"

"Favourite Hotel Ever!! As usual, it never disappoints. Truly remarkable that this is my 4th visit and I still get the same exceptional service and staff remember me. It is nice that they treat returning visitors as VIPs and are willing to factor this in when considering certain concessions. I had accidentally spilled my chocolate frappe on the sheets. The hotel charge me for the replacement cost (which was totally fair) and discounted the cost since I am their “loyal customer). I’m not saying they should always do this but it certainly impressed me that they considered all my visits and friends I’d encouraged to stay over. Besides this though they are still usually reasonable with such things. Per usual, there is everything around to make your stay completely seamless from shops to pharmacies to restaurants, etc. The room service is 24 hours and excellent. Quality produce and delivery. Staff, especially check in are very kind and helpful. I was really impressed by the check-in guy as I land early hours of the morning and he was very efficient. Plus, they had switched on the AC and the room was very comfortable after the long journey. Having written many reviews for this hotel, there is not much more I can say as they continue to improve and maintain very high standards. My only complaints are that the pool closes far too early at 8pm. I hope the hotel could consider extending the time. Secondly, the 4th four does not have a designated smoking section so it can become quite thick with the smoke smell. They might consider arranging ashtrays at more places than just the lift. A UM Undoubtedly, my hotel of choice whenever I’m in PP. Thank you to everyone for your kindness and making my stay, once again, truly wonderful! 🌹🌹"

"Modern hotel, nice room and friendly staff BUT it’s very difficult to sleep if your room is located on the street (50% of the rooms). When I entered the room I thought the window was open : it is so noisy and there is restaurant just below your windows open very late. So if you don’t care about having a peaceful stay this hotel is for you. I wish I had booked only one night. My mistake. For the record it’s my 7th time in Phnom Penh and there are a lot of hotels for the same price with a pool on a rooftop, well located and far more relaxing. So I don’t recommend this hotel until they improve their windows."

"Absolutely perfect. From start to finish, Caravan Hotel and all of its aspects made the stay welcoming and comfortable. Situated within both walking, Tuk Tuk, and driving or biking distances from many must-sees of the capital city, Phnom Penh. The amenities and hotel areas are well worth a visit even if at a different hotel. There is a lively Garden Cafe, Spa, Sky Bar, Blossom Restaurant, and welcoming Lobby. Menu options for dining and room great. Down the street is Meta House for art enthusiasts, and market stalls or banking needs are very close. They have their own Tuk Tuk service also, and I noticed they do cater to large tour groups. The price value top notch."

"Hard to review as initially we had difficulties. We booked and paid for a room online. When we arrived we checked in quite okay. Gave us our room and key and we went to our room. We were shocked when we entered as there was no window or natural light coming in at all … this room want not what we booked and paid for. Nevertheless, we were quite exhausted so we went to bed. Next day we were picked up early from the hotel to commence our group tour. At end of day when we arrived back we spoke with management about the sub-standard room we were given which was not what we booked and paid for. English barrier was quite evident and it was very difficult to communicate … finally someone with better English came to help. They apologised for the confusion and finally managed to swap the room to what it should have been but with the words “we have upgraded you to a better room”. Wait a minute … upgrade?? No, allocated the correct room, not upgrade. Anyway all is well after that with minimal contact with staff. There is an infinity pool, but no bar and no snacks to purchase. Pretty basic stuff really. All in all okay and don’t expect too much. Location is okay as well."

"The location is excellent, right next to the Grand Palace, and just a few steps from the Tonle Sap River. The security guard at the entrance provided excellent service; he helped us re-order a car to the airport after a tuk-tuk arrived instead of a car. The breakfast was also very rich and the pool is beautiful."
