"Facilities: It seems there's no swimming pool. The hotel has a very Scottish style, not luxurious but full of character in its decor. Cleanliness: Good, no dust or anything. Environment: Quite satisfactory, doesn't feel cramped or oppressive. Service: Most of the staff were very polite, making you feel right at home."

"Located on the outskirts of Edinburgh, near the Forth Bridge, this hotel is well-renovated with spacious rooms and convenient parking. Overall, it's a great place to stay. There's a bus stop for the 43 line just a 2-minute walk away, taking you to Princes Street in 45 minutes. The return journey conveniently stops right in front of Tesco supermarket, which is incredibly handy."

"The hotel is newly renovated, but still has a slight smell of new furnishings. It's located on campus, so it's very quiet with a strong academic atmosphere. The bus stop right outside is super convenient. There's also a beautifully decorated restaurant downstairs."

"We booked this hotel not knowing that it is literally next to the zoo. So it was a pleasant surprise and we decided to include the Edinburgh Zoo as part of our itinerary when we were there. There’re bus stops infront of the hotel that conveniently transport us to the city centre in 15min; as well as to the airport. The bus systems there are superb and most of the times the buses arrived on schedule. There are no bottled mineral water, toothbrushes, toothpaste, comb or other sanitary products (except for shower gel, shampoo and handwash) provided in the room. However, there is a note pasted in the toilet that one has to ask for these items at the reception counter if one requires any of these. We didnt notice the pasted note in the toilet; thus we did not ask for these during our stay.. We were also surprised that there was no mini fridge or safe which are normally provided in a hotel room. Nonetheless we were happy when there’s an iron and ironing board in our room. We noticed that the housekeeping service usually starts around 9am. We were in the room at around 9.30am when someone from the housekeeping dept tried to open the door. So if you intend to wake up late, we suggest to keep your door locked and latched. Their housekeeping is efficient as we think they need to be on schedule but many times our used cups were not cleaned thoroughly (or replaced) as there were still stains in the cups. 1 day 1 of our half-drink bottled drinks was removed from the table which we presumed the housekeeper could have thrown it away. On the whole, it’s a pleasant stay for our family."

"The hostel is in a great location, very close to the city centre and within easy walking distance. The cleanliness was okay overall, I stayed for four nights, and during most of my stay the room wasn’t thoroughly cleaned. The beds were made and the rubbish was removed, but the rest of the room didn’t seem to be cleaned. However, the day before I left, I wrote a short note for the cleaner and left it near the bin explaining my concerns. When I returned, the room was absolutely impeccable. I really appreciated how quickly and seriously they responded to my feedback. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, and the common area is comfortable. The main downside for me was the noise from the street. There was quite a lot of noise at night, sometimes continuing until late, so this is something to keep in mind if you are a light sleeper. Overall, despite these small issues, I had a good stay and would recommend the hostel, especially to women travelling solo. I felt safe and comfortable during my stay, and I particularly appreciated how responsive the staff were when I raised a concern."

"An amazing hotel with clean and peaceful rooms 👌🏻 The staff were wonderful. I had my birthday dinner there, and the chef together with a lovely waitress surprised me with a complimentary dessert. It was such a kind and thoughtful gesture ☺️🩷 I was able to truly relax and had a great night’s sleep 🥰"

"The hotel is about a 30-minute walk from Princes Street, which is a bit of a trek from the city center. Edinburgh reminds me a lot of Chongqing, with all its hills and slopes – it's quite exhausting going up and down, so it wouldn't be ideal if you have a lot of luggage. However, the room itself is spacious, and they offer free luggage storage."

"I can only say that I love and hate this hotel. I had a bad stay experience. Can you believe I spent 2,700 yuan to book a room in the basement? ! The pictures of the hotel room are seriously inconsistent with the reality. When booking, I noticed that the pictures of ordinary room types may be underground, so I specially booked a room type one level higher (the corresponding pictures on Ctrip also showed normal windows and floors), but when I arrived at the hotel, I was still arranged in the basement. The hotel manager explained that their rooms were not divided into floors, and after all the rooms upstairs were arranged that day, they arranged a room on the ground floor for us. Living underground was really unacceptable, so I had to accept the manager's recommendation and upgrade to a top-floor room for an additional 80 pounds. Environment: As shown in the picture, the view from the upgraded room is really great. The hotel is about a 20-minute walk from important attractions such as Princes Street and the Castle. The location is slightly far, but acceptable. Facilities: The room facilities are generally good. The hotel environment is very classic and well maintained. There is a parking lot at the back door, which is quite convenient. Hygiene: It may be that we changed rooms temporarily. After checking in, we found that the bathroom must have been used by someone, and there was also a used razor in the trash can. I wonder if the cleaning staff threw it away... Therefore, if you want to check in, it is recommended to determine the room type and floor in advance."
