My first time in Shizuoka Prefecture, and I spent the first night at the Nihondaira Hotel. Walking into the lobby, there's a huge glass curtain wall directly ahead. If the weather is clear and visibility is good, you can see Mount Fuji in the distance. Even every room faces Mount Fuji. At the foot of the mountain are Shimizu City, home of Chibi Maruko-chan, and Miho no Matsubara. When I arrived at the hotel in the afternoon, it was overcast, and Shimizu City wasn't visible due to heavy fog and humidity. I was really hoping for clear skies the next morning. And my wish truly came true! At 5 AM, a thought flashed through my mind, I woke up, pulled open the curtains, and although the sun hadn't risen yet, a blush appeared in the southeast. Looking straight ahead, in the distant sky, a massive silhouette appeared – that was Mount Fuji. Alright, I'm content. Hahahaha~ Staying at this hotel, you can completely, completely relax. You can lie in your room and zone out, or stroll on the huge lawn in front of the hotel, watching the shimmering lights of Shimizu City at night. The booking price included dinner and breakfast. A bit pricey, but well worth it. Dinner was a French set menu (Menu in pic 7). For an additional 1600 yen, I upgraded to Japanese-produced Wagyu beef, which I highly recommend. It was grilled perfectly, locking in the pinkness, and the texture was tender and fresh both inside and out. For breakfast, I recommend choosing the Japanese set meal, as online reviews say the Western breakfast is terrible.

The hotel is incredibly close to Shizuoka Station, about a 5-10 minute walk, and surrounded by restaurants, Don Quijote, and convenience stores, which was really fantastic! I highly recommend it! Also, if you walk about 10 minutes, you'll find the Shizuoka Prefectural Office and Sunpu Castle & Park. On a nice day, it would be perfect to visit the Prefectural Office (opens at 10 AM) to see Mt. Fuji, then take a stroll through Sunpu Park. It was also interesting to see many schools nearby! If you're visiting Shizuoka for a trip to a smaller Japanese city, I definitely recommend staying here! Unlike other accommodations in Japan, this one was quite spacious! For reference, we stayed in a twin room. We inadvertently chose to have breakfast and the staff were incredibly nice, though the food was just average. It's still worth trying at least once. I didn't take any photos of the room's interior, but I've included pictures taken near the hotel and from inside the hotel at sunset.

The Shizuoka Station area is bustling, but this hotel offers a peaceful retreat right in the thick of it. From the North Exit, walk straight across the street for about ten minutes, then turn right, and you'll easily spot the tall hotel building. As with all Toyoko Inn hotels, a simple breakfast is included; this branch, however, exclusively serves onigiri (rice balls), soup, and beverages. The rooms are on the smaller side, so if you're traveling with two suitcases, you'll need to be clever with space. You can pick up amenities like toothbrushes and other essentials at the front desk. It's a solid choice for those looking for a convenient stopover or transit stay.

I was a bit disappointed with our stay. The room looked much more spacious in the photos, but the room we were given felt quite small and cramped. It also didn’t have any view, which was disappointing. I was expecting the room to be brighter as well, but the lighting felt too dim. Overall, the room did not match the impression shown in the photos. There were also only a few pillows provided. I was also a bit confused about the tea and coffee because there was nothing in the tray, so I wasn’t sure where to get them. Another inconvenience was that there was only one power outlet near the bed for charging phones. Since there were two of us, only one person could charge nearby, while the other had to charge farther away. Even though there were some downsides, there were good things as well. The location was very convenient — as soon as you step out of the hotel, everything is nearby, including Ichiran, shopping malls, and plenty of places to eat.

The room facilities are complete, and the hygiene is very good. The service attitude is excellent. It's a five-minute walk from the JR station, making it very convenient to get to Miho no Matsubara and Nihondaira. The port has the Chibi Maruko-chan Land museum and Shimizu Fish Market. There's also a ferry terminal at the port with boats to Toi, Izu. This is a transit hotel with great value for money.

The Quest Shimizu Hotel is conveniently located near Shimizu Station and popular attractions, offering excellent transportation. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with a simple and warm design, perfect for both long and short stays. The staff are friendly and responsive. With numerous dining options nearby, it's an ideal base for exploring the Shimizu and Dazaifu areas.

Excellent location within walking distance to major tourist locations and shopping and dining districts as well as public transports. Carpark is available across the road at 1100 Yen for 24 hours. I chose room with breakfast for 2 and it is well value for money. The spa, though small, but is well kept and much undertilized. In fact, I am the only one using the spa. Environment, services and facilities are all up to good standards. Guests can also have free access to the coffee and soft drinks machine around the clock.

Basic cleanliness, interior, service, everything was the best Basic unlimited popcorn, pudding, and drinks are provided, and beer, wine, and cocktails are provided from 6 PM to 12 AM The sauna and rooftop pool that are available from 6 PM were also great The only downside is that there are almost no convenience stores or restaurants around, so I had to take Uber for late-night meals.

It's very close to Shimizu Station, so you can easily find places to go and eat nearby. There's also a 24-hour AEON supermarket not far away, which is very convenient. The room was cozy and comfortable, and I was very satisfied!
