Hygiene: Excellent. The entire place was very clean and tidy, with no trash or dust, and no unpleasant smells – everywhere smelled fresh. The gym was also clean. The only minor issue was the pool, which could get a bit noisy and messy due to the crowd.
Ambiance: Fantastic. The rooms themselves were impeccable, all over 50 square meters, with mostly identical layouts, just differing in their specific location. They had everything you could ask for: a bathtub, shower, two sinks, two wardrobes, a dressing table, and a balcony with a view. A special mention for the bathtub – it filled up incredibly fast, less than five minutes, which is the quickest I've ever seen. The decor was very sophisticated, with high-quality materials that gave it a timeless feel, yet it was maintained beautifully, which was very impressive.
Service: Excellent. The doormen were highly efficient at opening car doors and handling luggage. The check-in experience at the front desk was great; the staff's attitude was impeccable, they were very professional, didn't strictly adhere to every rule, and were very generous and welcoming. If a room was available, they arranged immediate check-in. Any requests were handled with high efficiency; for example, beach chairs were brought and set up quickly, and anything needed was brought to the room promptly. They even helped close the curtains, making us feel truly at home.
Facilities: Outstanding. The decor is very distinctive and rich in character. It has all the amenities expected of a five-star hotel. As one of Hawaii's top three luxury hotel resorts, it boasts a quiet private beach and a golf course, plus its own dolphin lagoon where you can experience close interaction with dolphins. There are four restaurants, a well-equipped gym with fruit and lemon-coconut water, and well-appointed restrooms. There are also many century-old decorations and various shops, all selling co-branded hotel merchandise, which is quite rare and unique.
Overall, this hotel is absolutely worth a special trip. All aspects were flawless. What truly stands out is its century-old heritage and expansive space, yet it shows no signs of age and is meticulously maintained. I personally love this feeling of historical charm. Highly recommended.

LIPINGA little distance from Waikiki Beach, the quiet of the hotel, the hotel's own beach is relatively small. You can see the Diamond Head Mountain, some sea views, and the scenery is not bad. The bed was too soft and it was not very comfortable to sleep. The environment in the room is general, the law is quite satisfactory.

This hotel was perfect for my trip.
[Room]
- Spacious
- The sink was large. I was able to spread out all my amenities. The large mirror and magnifying mirror made applying makeup easy.
- Excellent shower pressure.
- The toilet flushed smoothly.
- The bathroom had a large luggage storage area with over 10 hangers. I brought folding hangers but didn't use them. I was able to easily fit three inflatable swim rings and a suitcase.
- There were plenty of chests of drawers, so I was able to store all my clothes.
- There was a large mirror behind the sofa, making it easy to get ready.
- There were also multiple outlets on the side beds, so charging my phone was easy.
- Two adults and a small child could sleep comfortably on the king bed. There was also a sofa bed, but we didn't use it.
- The housekeeper always cleaned the room well, and there was no sand from the beach.
- Plenty of towels and tissues.
- The coffee machine, paper cups, and drinking glasses were always kept replenished.
[Pool/Beach]
- You can go directly to the beach from the pool. There were plenty of beach chairs reserved for the hotel, so it was easy to find a spot. You could leave your towel and luggage there, play in the pool, then play on the beach and then return to the pool empty-handed.
Duke's staff are always wandering around the poolside checking for orders, so you can order from the menu on the spot. You can even drink alcohol while swimming in the pool.
Floor rings are allowed in the pool.
Beach bags are provided in the rooms, so you can use them. They're large and sturdy, and I often saw people carrying them around town. I didn't need to bring my own. Water bottles are also provided.
There's a water dispenser by the pool.
[Overall Hotel]
The staff were friendly and helpful.
The staff helped me with my luggage as soon as I arrived. I arrived at 12:30, but they allowed me to check in early without asking. My luggage was delivered to my room promptly, and after I told them where the safe was, they left the room saying, ”Enjoy!”, so I almost missed a tip.
While there aren't many Japanese people and none of the staff speaks Japanese perfectly, I was able to get by with just a few words.
Security is tight, as you can't get on the elevators without a hotel card.
Conveniently, there's a Hula Grill and Duke's just down the street from the lobby. For a late breakfast around 9:00, Hula Grill was open, and I was able to get a great beachfront seat without a reservation.
I got a cheap city view room on the first floor, but I was more than satisfied with the ocean view from the lanai.
The location is great, with the International Market Place right across the street. There are also plenty of shops downstairs. I forgot to buy souvenirs the day before my final day, so I popped into Honolulu Cookies, which is open until 10:00 PM, in my pajamas.
It's right in the middle of Waikiki Beach, so both the Royal Hawaiian Center and Waikiki Beach Walk are within walking distance.
I was very satisfied, but as other reviews have said, it can be noisy at night. Street music can be heard until late every night. However, I enjoyed it because I thought, ”Everyone's so cheerful. It feels like I'm overseas.” There were days when I could hear something that sounded like opera, and it felt like I got a good deal.
It's strange that there are so few Japanese people there, considering the location and service are so good. There are almost no Japanese people there, so it feels like I'm abroad.

The hotel is a little over a 10-minute walk from the beach, which is pretty convenient overall. They provide kettles, just like all hotels in Hawaii do, so you can refill your water multiple times, which is really handy. The hotel's location is great for getting around, and it's perfect for shopping. There's a convenience store right downstairs too. All in all, I had a good experience.

Location: Easily accessible by bus from the airport, and the walking distance from the bus stop to the hotel is manageable. It's quite close to the Hilton Hawaiian Village, making it convenient to catch the Friday night fireworks.
While not directly on Waikiki Beach, it's still within walking distance. You can walk to the Royal Hawaiian Center for some shopping, and then it's a short stroll to Waikiki Beach.
Service: You can get complimentary cookies every day, which is a nice touch! They also helped me mail postcards. The staff who handled luggage storage were very polite and even helped me load my bags into my car when I checked out.
Facilities: There's a capsule coffee machine, so you can enjoy Hawaiian coffee daily. Other facilities were also perfectly fine and contributed to a good experience.
Environment: The view from the balcony was decent – not a full ocean view, but you could still see the sea in the distance. It essentially overlooks the Hilton Hawaiian Village's coastline. The DoubleTree itself has a gym and a simple rooftop pool, which were both adequate for my needs.

Anonymous UserFor our recent trip to Hawaii, we chose the Poolside Suite at Wayfinder Waikiki — and it was such a great choice.
The room was spacious, beautifully decorated in a tropical, laid-back style, and had direct access to the pool right from the terrace. It honestly felt like our own private villa!
The pool area is small but super stylish and peaceful — perfect for relaxing with a morning coffee. ☕️
The staff were all incredibly friendly, and the whole vibe of the hotel felt very local and welcoming.
One thing to note: it’s a little bit of a walk from the main ***** of Waikiki, but that also means it’s quieter and more relaxing.
If you’re looking to enjoy both the beach and a cool hotel experience, this is a great place to stay!

The view is beautiful; the higher floors offer ocean views and allow you to open the windows, but you can't see the sunrise.
Across the street is the Alamoana Center, which has a food plant and delicious local poke.
You can use your daily tax payment at the Sera restaurant downstairs, so it's a good thing.
The rooms are far superior to the Hilton, but they lack the resort atmosphere.
However, there's always a very strong smell when you enter, but thankfully you can sleep with the windows open.
There's no parking, but there's free parking across the street, about a 15-minute walk.
In Hawaii, you're practically helpless without a car. Getting to Wakii Beach without a car is a real struggle. The hotel provides a free shuttle, but you'll have to walk back.
Nighttimes in the US aren't safe, even in Hawaii. So, choosing this hotel basically means missing out on sunsets and nighttime beach views unless you're really brave.

I have stayed here twice now & the front desk women, bell hop & valet service young men are all incredibly nice. I honestly have never had front desk women be so kind & thoughtful. This stay I mentioned we had to leave before breakfast so she got a bag full of muffins & treats for us. They really have a great breakfast so I was sad to miss it but wow I have never have someone go above a beyond like that. They also gave us extra water. The bell hop was incredibly helpful also. This was the reason we came back, for the nice accommodations & great service!!!

With the weak yen, high prices, and tipping, eating out can be extremely expensive, but you can buy prepared foods and alcohol at the supermarket just a short walk away and relax in this location.
I brought pasta and bread from home, so
I only ate out once in five days.
I wish check-in was a little smoother.

Guest UserIt was a room with a view of the diamond head and the sea.
I was a little worried about the height because I wanted a clear view of the sea, but I was satisfied with the Lanai overlooking the two without any problems.
It is old as a whole, the bathtub is old, and it takes time to get hot water.
