This internet-famous guesthouse truly lives up to its reputation, with a total of 24 rooms. The biggest drawback is the number of stairs and the lack of an elevator, but everything else is excellent! Location: It's situated next to the Balinghe Bridge in Guanling, about a 15-20 minute drive from the main Huangguoshu scenic area. Ambiance: It's a popular guesthouse located in a small, charming village. The air is filled with the scent of mugwort. The 4th-floor observation deck is perfect for watching both sunsets and sunrises. You'll hear roosters crowing in the morning. Facilities: Be prepared to climb stairs, as the highest floor is the 4th. There is a dedicated luggage elevator for your bags. The rooms are spacious, the bedding is comfortable, and the air conditioning is powerful but a bit noisy (earplugs are provided by the hotel). There's a self-service laundry room with two washing machines and two dryers, along with laundry pods. Service: The butler-style service is prompt and friendly. I really appreciated the small farewell gift upon check-out. Cleanliness: Very good. Restaurant: They offer a buffet breakfast, à la carte lunch, and dinner requires advance ordering and reservation, with a notification when it's ready. The cocktails at the bar are excellent.

Comfortable and Convenient Stay with Thoughtful Host We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The room is new and modern. However, shower room tiling can be improve further for one of the family room toilet. But the other toilets in the other rooms are good. The location is good, near the second entrance of Huang Guo Shu Waterfall which only opens for day trip. It has MacDonald & bubble tea shop nearby for comfort food. However, it is a 20 min walk from the main ticketing entrance for foreigners for day and evening tickets. Though it is quite a distance, but it is better than getting stuck in the heavy traffic during this peak season. Talking a stroll, passing by the restaurants are ok. The owner is fantastic — they assisted us with one parcel collection from Taobao, which was a huge help since collecting them ourselves would have been inconvenient. They also send our family out to the main road as our 9 seater big bus is not able to enter the small lane to the homestay. To walk to the main road, there is a staircase which is about 1 min walk up. Ok for young and young seniors, but may not be very suitable for very old people with walking difficulties. Overall, this is a highly recommended stay for anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and a host who goes the extra mile!

Here in this very pretty and clean room for one night! It would be nice to stay here for another night but there was nothing nice around except 黄果树 scenic area. There was pick-up service using the home stay's car to and fro the scenic area. The driver was very flexible about it. He was also a nice person to chat with! The homestay also had their own restaurant at level 1. Food was quite good. I got takeaway so I could enjoy my dinner while watching drama. Room facilities and toilet were good. Breakfast was provided too. Those going to the scenic area, I will recommend you to stay here! The driver and workers were very nice.

At the beginning of the month, my travel companion, “Peking Duck” (my child), and I explored four small cities in Guizhou – Guiyang, Anshun, Bijie, and Xingyi. We thoroughly experienced the karst landscapes, caves, waterfalls, and pastoral scenery, all in a comfortably cool climate. Here's a comprehensive guide to share with everyone! ⭕️ Guizhou Geological Museum (reservations required, closed on Mondays, last admission at 4 PM): You can book a guided tour with fossil restoration activities, which is very interesting. ⭕️ Qingyun Market: A great place to eat and explore (definitely try Guiyang's Sour Soup Hotpot – the flavor is unique compared to other regions). ⭕️ Yelang Valley (watch Nuo opera, two shows daily: 12:00-12:30 PM and 3:00-3:30 PM. Kids who enjoy crafts can try plant carving). ⭕️ I personally don't recommend Zhijin Cave for families with young children or the elderly! However, Zhijin Grand Canyon is highly recommended. Enter via the elevator, and the entire route is a downhill walk, making it very lazy-friendly. The scenic beauty is truly impressive and worth a visit! ⭕️ Guizhou Guanling National Fossil Group Geological Park (the fossil digging area is open, but the museum area will open in late July). ⭕️ Huangguoshu Waterfall (‼️ Water Curtain Cave requires reservations and raincoats are a must!). For a lazy-friendly approach: take the round-trip elevator and capture a panoramic shot from above. If you're not up for a lot of walking, you can skip Tianxing Bridge; seeing the main waterfall is breathtaking enough! And a shout-out to the park staff – every restroom is spotless, some even have toilet seat covers! ⭕️ Fenglin Buyi (consider going in the evening when the lights are on – the scenery is even more beautiful. You can experience Buyi culture, songs and dances, iron flower performances, and other unique shows. There are many fun NPC mini-games in the scenic area. Watching the iron flower show from a boat offers a more direct and spectacular view). ⭕️ Kids will absolutely love a full day at Wanfenglin! Fishing, mini-train rides, woodworking, tie-dyeing, fruit picking, making Ciba (sticky rice cakes), and so much more – they'll never want to leave! When they get tired, relaxing at a popular cafe is pure bliss! ⭕️ Maling River Canyon (known as 'the most beautiful scar on Earth.' The scenic area closes at 5:30 PM. For an aerial view, navigate to 'Maling River Canyon Parking Lot 2'). Tips: ‼️ Guizhou attractions can be physically demanding. If you're traveling with children and have limited stamina, opt for lazy-friendly routes. ‼️ Mornings and evenings are cool, but it can be quite sunny during other times, so bring plenty of sunscreen and mosquito repellent. ‼️ Some attractions require advance reservations, so plan your itinerary accordingly! ‼️ Bring raincoats for Maling River and Huangguoshu, and wear non-slip shoes. ‼️ For Zhijin Cave, avoid wearing long pants or white shoes as it can get muddy! The cave temperature is around 10 degrees Celsius, so bring a jacket. Among the hotels we stayed at, 'Peking Duck' loved the Huangguoshu Kaiyuan Manju Hotel the most. It offers many parent-child activities, new facilities, and delicious dining! We enjoyed a cool summer with temperatures around 20 degrees Celsius throughout our trip, without any high-intensity rushing. We experienced city life, majestic gorges and waterfalls, underground marvels, pastoral peak forests, and ethnic minority customs all at once. The best classroom is always on the road; what you see with your own eyes is far more memorable than what you read in books. It’s time to get out there with the kids!

This hotel is excellent! It's very close to the attractions, and the service is great. It's a new hotel with good facilities. I specifically chose this one because it's right next to the scenic area and they offer a VIP shuttle service to the Huangguoshu Falls entrance, which is super convenient. All the staff members are very friendly. The front desk attendant who checked us in was lovely, and especially on the day of check-out, we needed to get to the First Tourist Center. We had used the VIP shuttle service on previous days, but when I called to request it for check-out, the car wasn't dispatched. I'm not sure why it worked fine the two days before but not on the last day. I explained the situation to the front desk, and a young man there, after understanding our predicament, immediately consulted with his supervisor and arranged for the hotel's own car to take us to the First Tourist Center (since I was traveling with my parents and it would have been difficult with luggage). I particularly want to thank the staff member named Tian Di; his attitude was excellent, and he was able to help us solve an unexpected problem, showing great initiative. Both hardware and software are crucial for a good hotel, and Manxin Mansion is fantastic. I'll definitely stay here again if I have the chance!

This was by far the best B&B I stayed at during my trip to Guizhou. I'd stayed at a Yaojia property in Zhejiang before, so it felt familiar when I booked it. The service was excellent, and for the price, it was absolutely worth it. The scenery outside the hotel is stunning and perfect for photos. We even got permission to fly our drone to capture the Detian Waterfall. There aren't many dining options nearby, but the food at the B&B was fantastic – delicious and incredibly generous portions. I never expected the pickled cabbage fish to have 10 catfish! Two people definitely couldn't finish it all. Next time I visit Anshun, I'd definitely consider staying here again. The Yaojia next door is owned by the same person, so I might try that one out next time too.

This hotel boasts an excellent location, less than a 5-minute walk from the No. 3 sightseeing bus stop, which is the closest stop to the scenic area. The hotel facilities are very new, and the management style resembles that of a large chain hotel. Room service is handled by robots. The rooms are clean and tidy, and the bed is very comfortable and spacious. The hotel has its own underground parking lot, making it very convenient for those traveling by car. There's a food street right across from the hotel, so dining is super easy. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Huangguoshu. On our first day, we entered the park around 3 PM, avoiding the peak crowds. We visited the Great Waterfall, Doupotang, and even got a bird's-eye view, and there weren't many people around. On the second day, we woke up early and took the sightseeing bus to Tianxingqiao around 6:40 AM. It was very uncrowded, and there was no congestion at all. We had finished our visit and returned to the hotel by 9:30 AM. This off-peak travel strategy was fantastic. Huangguoshu Waterfall is definitely worth a visit; it's truly magnificent. The hotel's excellent location also contributed greatly to our experience.

Fantastic hotel situated in an incredibly well-preserved Ming dynasty village. Our hosts were very accommodating and the room was fantastic - very clean and a comfortable bed! There are many things to see here, including a Buddhist temple of 500 years one of the mountains the town in nestled beneath. Far different from the new old towns we saw in Lijiang and shangri-la, this village is the real deal and just unbelievable to walk through and explore. We also enjoyed walking down to the nearby town outside the gates. The Karst mountains in this area are extremely dramatic and beautiful to behold. There is a speciality coffee shop and a place to get breakfast near the gate - we suspect that we were visiting outside of peak time as it was generally quiet but that suited us just fine. The host made us wonton and dumpling soup in a vegetable broth which was very nice. The hosts are very kind and they have prepared a wonderful place from which to explore this very special village. It is about a 40 minute taxi from Anshun West station and 20-30 minute taxi into Anshun city. Thank you!

Upon arrival, I received a complimentary room upgrade. The hotel offers a shuttle service to Huangguoshu Waterfall, and it's also a convenient 10-15 minute walk to the entrance. The staff were very welcoming. The only downside was the rather basic breakfast.

Hefayuan Hotel Stay Experience My overall experience at Hefayuan Hotel was very pleasant. The location is convenient for getting around. The hotel's exterior is quite unique, with its ethnic architectural design adding a distinct local flavor. There's also Baiweixuan Private Kitchen downstairs, offering a wide array of dining options. I stayed in a twin room. The room was spacious and well-organized, with two neat beds and soft, comfortable bedding that ensured a good night's sleep. The window offered an open view of the surrounding scenery, and the room had good natural light and ventilation. The amenities were comprehensive; the air conditioning ran steadily, and facilities like the TV and kettle were all available, meeting everyday travel needs. The decor was simple yet elegant, and the room was clean and tidy with good maintenance down to the details. The soundproofing was decent, and the environment was quiet and not noisy, allowing for undisturbed rest. The only minor drawback was that the bedding was a bit wrinkled; it would have been better if it had been smoothed out. Overall, it offers excellent value for money. The facilities are complete, the environment is quiet, and it's convenient for travel and dining. It's suitable for business trips or temporary stays, making it a top-notch choice for accommodation in the area. I'll definitely consider staying here again on my next trip.
