"We visited Maison D’ete for a long weekend for a friend’s wedding and it was paradise! The location was superb, the rooms were A1 in style, cleanliness and upkeep. The staff lead by Robbie were forever at your beck and call with nothing being too much trouble. The only thing better than the service was the food itself - breakfast, lunch and dinner all fantastically prepared and presented. Lunch on the beach overlooking the Indian Ocean was my particular favourite! Perfection ❤️"

"The hotel's value for money is excellent for a four-star hotel. Just around the right turn from the hotel is one of the best beaches on the island, with a small section of reef for snorkeling. The food was great; you could find everything you need. I wasn't particularly impressed with the a la carte restaurants, except for the steakhouse, but it's hard to get a reservation. I didn't like the Indian restaurant at all. The entertainment was also rather modest, but we don't go to those "shows" anyway; it's fine for us. The room was clean, and if you request it in the app, they'll bring you anything you might need, even slippers and a toothbrush. There are some downsides, of course: the glasses at the pool bar are a bit tacky, and the towels you get in the room and on the beach are sometimes threadbare, but that's if you're really looking for something to complain about. There's absolutely nowhere to go in the area on foot. Overall, everything met our expectations. We had a great time."

Also Avinash provided outstanding service at the bar and truly elevated our experience. He was friendly, attentive, and clearly skilled at what he does. La Maison 20 Degrés Sud - Relais & Châteaux

"Just spent 12 wonderful nights at the charming 20 Degres Sud. We had a beach front room with a terrace and it was a joy to be so few steps from the ocean. The beach itself is relatively small but feels spacious and there was always plenty of available sunbeds. The free boat across to Grand Baie was really handy and a fun way to pop into town. We were on the half board package and the food was excellent. There was a good range of choice and we particularly enjoyed the curries. We went out for dinner on a couple of occassions so we swapped dinner for lunch, which was a simpler menu as you would expect, but nevertheless very good. However, the thing that made this such a memorable stay was the staff. The service was exceptional. Everyone was so incredibly friendly and just couldn't do enough for you. The was the case throughout the hotel, from housekeeping, to waterports, to reception, and we particularly enjoyed the service and company of the guys in the bar and restaurant. There are just too many names to mention individually. Overall, this is an exceptional boutique hotel in a great location, and we will defintely be returning at somepoint hopefully in the not too disant future."

"The scenery of the hotel is good, and the sunrise and sunset photos are good. However, there are some reefs on the main beach, and there are often groupers in them, which is not suitable for swimming. But you can play in the water The hotel is located near the bus station. There are many buses that can go to the areas along the Great Bay. The fare is only 30 rupees, which is equivalent to 4.5 RMB. Very convenient. The open beach near the hotel is better and you can go paragliding. The hotel staff were quite enthusiastic, but when settling the exchange rate, they were too clever and gave me 43 for 1 U.S. dollar. The normal rate at the airport was 46. To be honest, I didn’t have much money, but I just felt uncomfortable. Regarding lunch, it costs 30 US dollars, but it is relatively simple and has not many tricks. Breakfast is basically the same every day. There are local weddings held every day in the hotel, which is very festive and shows that the hotel's consumption is reasonable. It is a very cost-effective seaside hotel in the Grand Bay area of ​​Mauritius and is worth staying for many days."

Jalsa Beach Hotel & Spa

"This was our first time to Jalsa Beach but our second time to Mauritius and we had a fantastic time. I had read the reviews, both good and bad, before we booked and were unsure what to expect but our stay exceeded our expectations. It's a small hotel but this provided the intimacy to the place. It wasn't too long before you get know everyone and formed friendships and companionships. The hotel is remotely positioned, but we knew this before we booked, however there is a bus stop outside the main gates which will take you to the markets in Flaq and Goodlands. Check with the staff for market days. The buses have their own timetable. If you are adventurous book a trip or a car, they drive on the left. I don't normally mention the staff but on this occasion I make the exception as they were an integral part of our holiday. On arrival we went to the restaurant and as we entered were greeted by my name and room number. Within a short space of time all the staff knew us, greeting us with big, wide smiles and making sure we had the best time ever. In particulate Kushi, Shrishna, Manisha, Fourdoor, Katsia, our lovely cleaning lady, the animation team who work hard and not forgetting Vanessa, whom I am sure kept a watchful eye on our stay to make sure it was as wonderful as it could be and whom I am sure was responsible for putting us in a great seaview room. Regarding food and drink, it was plentiful, varied, well cooked flavoursome and suited our needs and will say no more as everyone has their own view on what they want or need. The view from the room and/or the beach is fantastic, as you look across the lagoon to the jungle, mountains, reef and more. We were made to feel special, had a relaxing time, enjoyed good company, enjoyed being in Mauritius. No complaints from me."
