I stayed here during my honeymoon over the Chinese New Year, and the more I think about it, the angrier I get. I really need to get this off my chest. Honestly, the room and the environment were impeccable; they lived up to the name and the price. However, something absolutely outrageous happened during our stay. It was around midnight, a while after I had taken a bath. The front desk called our room, saying there was a water leak downstairs and they needed to come up and check. I refused, as we were already asleep. Not long after, they called again, saying the person was already there. Twice, at 12 AM. Then, the second issue: they came into our room to check again while we were still checked in, before check-out. We were disturbed repeatedly, with absolutely no apology or compensation. This service is utterly ridiculous.

As a 5 star hotel and the high room rate, the service of this hotel is not up to the standard. Most of staff in the restaurants have bad faces, n some of the receptionists at the front desk are not helpful. I have asked for a late check out owing to the late flight n poor weather condition with cyclone approaching, a fat lady at the front desk told me that we have to respect to the check out policy n she cannot even allow only 1 hour of late check out (pls note the check out time is 11am which is earlier than most of the other resorts n hotels in Mauritius). Other housekeeping staff n bellboys are nice, the butler is also helpful but u have to find out all the information via their app/QR code. Although there are not too many guests in the hotel, they will ask u to make reservation for the dinner instead of walk in. On top of all the above, the hotel’s cleanliness is a concern, 1 night I found a very big cockroach hidden at the back of minbar. It was so scary that I couldn’t sleep well that night. For the pros, it has a very long beach line with clear water. It has a lot of facilities including library, game room, cinema, gym, water sports, 2 swimming pools n more restaurants with different cuisines than other hotels. I chose it bcz it is ranked as a gourmet hotel but I found that the food is just fair. In conclusion, I won’t pick this hotel for its average service n cleanliness with a very high room rate.

JW Marriott Mauritius is literally like heaven on earth. From the services to the food, everything was impeccable 👌! We loved our stay here. Kids had so much to do too. We didn't leave the resort for any sightseeings. We enjoyed everything about this place. Will highly recommend honeymooners to consider this place for your honeymoon. Really really had a great time here! They also surprised me with a birthday set-up in my room. The butler service was really great too. The buggy will pick us up to send us to anywhere we want. Will truly miss this place when we get back home. Hope to come back here again someday.

Check in was hectic. There were so many guests checking in and waiting in such a small space. We checked in at 3 pm but the room wasn’t ready until 3.45 pm. We got to the room and found out that they upgraded us (without telling us). The upgraded room was a big suite which was very nice but it was on the ground floor. We booked a junior suite balcony which is upstairs (we prefer upstairs as more privacy and better view) we had to ask to move to the type of room that we actually booked for! (What a waste of time for everyone) the room was very beautiful and comfortable and we LOVED the balcony. We love le Morne beach the water is so clear with different shades of blue but here we find the beach to be a bit too wide so you are a bit far from the sea (we stayed at another hotel in Le morne and we found there we were closer to the see with better view of Le Morne) Plenty of available sun beds. We didn’t like the pools so didn’t go in. Breakfast was disappointing compared to the price we pay. Service was not bad but not great. Overall, it was an ok stay.

The St. Regis Hotel has excellent facilities and a beautiful design! They thoughtfully provided festive greetings and small gifts on Chinese New Year's Day! They even gave us greeting cards on New Year's Eve! They also had a lion dance performance at the hotel that evening, but unfortunately I was out too late to see it! The staff all said "Happy New Year" to each other. [Grinning face emoji] The rooms are on the first floor, and right outside the door is green space, beach, and seaside. You can sit on a lounge chair and enjoy the beautiful waves! There's a small tub filled with water outside the room with a long-handled wooden ladle for rinsing your feet – a thoughtful design! The St. Regis Hotel has 172 rooms, so it's quite crowded and a bit cramped compared to the more spacious and comfortable villa hotels I've stayed in before, but overall it was still fantastic! A special thank you to the hotel for providing beach sandals (flip-flops). The straps didn't rub at all, which was very nice! My sandals broke, so I relied on these flip-flops for the entire trip around Maori! Be careful as the soles can be a little slippery when it rains!

JW is located at the foot of Mount Le Mona, with a superior location and great service. During this Spring Festival trip, the hotel specially upgraded us to a sea view suite. It was convenient to lie on the beach every day to see underwater waterfalls, chase whales and dolphins, and go to the zoo. Living on the west side, you can see a great sunset, but I hope the food in the restaurant can be improved day by day 🤣
