"We had a truly wonderful stay at Sopa. The entire experience was unforgettable, surrounded by beautiful nature and incredibly welcoming people. But even more importantly, he was not only friendly and attentive, but genuinely warm-hearted and kind. His positive energy and care made us feel completely at home. "I was nervous about what a tented camp would be like but it was idyllic. The tents are luxurious, immaculately clean and well appointed with all mods cons including veranda with swing seat. The camp has an amazing buffet, fantastic staff, plus a bar, shop, pool, snack bar. They would escort you to your tents at night although the paths are well lit so wouldn't pose a problem. Some nights you get a lot if animal noises and other times it peaceful and quiet . It's situated right in the Mara so you're not far from the action on games drives etc, separated from the animals by a deep ravine which you cross by bridge. It's a beautiful, restful place and I wouldn't hesitate to book it again."

"Make sure you close the zipper of your tent well, otherwise the baboons are coming to visit. Listen to the hippos in the night is a treat and there was a woodpecker outside my door. It’s worth spending time walking around and exploring, don’t be afraid!"

"We had such a wonderful stay here, the beds were warm and comfortable, food was good and the hospitality was A-1. Waking up in the morning to singing birds and a breathtaking view was really awesome. Just note that the road to get there is really bumpy so if you get motion sickness definitely take your medicine beforehand. I would have liked more variety of food on the menu but we were still served good food so I'll still give it 5 stars."

"Stayed in July. Initial impression was the lodge was modest but clean. Reception from the hotel management was pleasant. Our tent accommodation was clean and fitting to the theme of the place. Views were great from the main lodge. The Safari was excellent and drivers were top notch…friendly, informative and essentially became part of our group. Now the bad. There were some small annoyances that I expect in these types of adventure camps that aren’t worth mentioning. Two things bothered me the most. 1. The food was not good. I love Kenyan food, but this place didn’t live up to what I’ve come to expect traveling in Kenya. 2. The staff. The Kenyan hospitality is well known. Always helpful and eager to please. But in this camp the Maasai help were down right annoying especially in the late afternoon and evening. Every time I left my room there was one wanting to escort me and often telling me where I wanted to go. The camp is dark at night but I was prepared and had my own flashlight. None the less, they insisted on walking with me with their light. And a friendly “I’m good, I have my own light” didn’t matter. Twice after dinner I grabbed myself a beer to go on an evening stroll around the grounds to enjoy the sounds of the Mara, only to have one of the staff latch onto me and insist on walking with me. I finally asked “Please just leave me alone. I just want to take a walk.” But my request was completely ignored. If I want help, I’ll ask. But I also expect to be left alone when I don’t need help. By the end of the 3rd day it had become very irritating to the point of feeling harassed when outside of my room. All in all I enjoyed my stay, but I would not consider staying at this camp again."

"I've been to the Masai Mara numerous times, but this trip was different. I got in touch with the team at Mara Hilltop before my stay, and they delivered exactly the experience they promised. The lodge is close to the Sekenani gate and easily accessible, yet feels wonderfully secluded. Spanning 25 acres connected to the conservation area, animals actually wander in and graze on the property — incredible to witness right outside your tent. The safari drives were full-day, 6am to 6pm, unlike the usual ones that cut the day short for lunch. Mornings started early with coffee brewing by 5:15am — the aroma, the dawn colors over the plains, and fresh in-house cookies made for a perfect start. Breakfast and lunch were packed exactly as I'd requested — real attentiveness. The drivers were local Maasai who knew the grasslands intimately, positioning us perfectly for incredible sightings and photos, including a hunt. A truly special stay. I wish more people could experience this themselves."

"Magical four days (3 nights) from start to finish. The camp it self is a dream and I wish we had more nights so we could spend more time there. All of the activities where unforgettable, from sundowners in the bush, 12 houre game drive where we had breakfast and lunch in the bush, hiking with Nickson and visiting the Siana Secondary School for Girls. Bethwel our guide really made the game drives for us and Daniel made sure our tent was tended to."

"We had a wonderful stay at this eco-hotel. The entire experience was excellent, from the beautiful surroundings to the outstanding service. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and always willing to help. We also felt very safe, as there was security throughout the night. The property itself is beautiful, peaceful, and very well maintained. Our room was lovely, spacious, and had great amenities. The food was delicious, and the service from the entire team was exceptional. Everyone went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. There are only a couple of things that could be improved: the Wi-Fi connection was not very reliable, and the bathroom door did not close properly. Aside from these minor issues, everything was great. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a beautiful, relaxing, and well-serviced eco-hotel."
