MARA SOPA LODGE ★★★★
"We had a lovely stay at Maasai Mara. The staff is warm and friendly. We managed to see most of the big 5 during our games drives. The dining offered many flavorful options."
PrideInn Mara Camp & Cottages ★★★★★
"Amazing stay"
Orng'Atuny Mara King Camp ★★★
"I had such an amazing time staying here! The staff were so kind and I went the extra mile to make sure we had an amazing experience. The food was so good and the chef even made sure to accommodate me being gluten free! Would recommend to anyone staying in Maasai Mara!"
Entumoto Safari Camp ★★★
"Just returned from Kenya and the highlight of our trip was the stay at Entumoto. Because it was our first safari and first trip to Africa, we were not sure what to expect. At the end, when we left, it felt like leaving family. The setting is lush and beautiful located above the savannah but still surrounded by nature. The staff will endeavor to create the type of experience that you want, whether that is full day safaris with picnic lunches, sundowners, or visits to local market or Masai villages or both. Your experience will be highly personal to you! The accommodations are beautiful both rustic and elegant. What makes the experience most memorable however is the people. Our guide David made sure we saw a variety of animals, was very caring and very open about his life as a Masai. We also were very impressed that the camp is devoted to the nearby community by contributing to schools and educational opportunities and caring for the community. The land surrounding Entumoto is a conservancy which has just as many animals (or more) than the national park but without the crowds. We ate lunch with elephants, zebras and giraffes. I miss it already and feel like I have new friends across the world! Hope to return."
Mara Chui Eco-Resort ★★★★
"This place is amazing! It’s in a great location near gate and Maasai village with a well planned setting nestled between the natural forest. Cabin are comfortable with the convenience of a hotel but solar. The people that run the lodge are informative and became like family during my stay. Food was buffet style with a fair selection and tasty. The safari box lunch was more than adequate. Great experience I would highly recommend."
Fig Tree Camp - Maasai Mara ★★★★★
"Fabulous place! Comfortable “tents” (more like chalets than tents) and a river below them with hippo families and crocodiles. Shine a torch at night and the eyes gleam back at you. Run the beam over the bushes on the opposite bank and the eyes are those of hyenas. The night air carries the sounds of the hippos, hyenas and lions. If you get the chance, take the sunrise hot air balloon ride - it’s marvellous, and the breakfast on the Masai Mara grasslands when you land is a fantastic, surreal experience."
Endeem Mara Resort ★★
"The staff were very helpful and ensured we had everything we needed. Had a great time and the food was delicious."
Basecamp Wilderness ★★★
"Where should I start? I’ll give you the short version: everything was perfect! From the organization at the camp to the food and the cleanliness—it was simply perfect. 10 out of 10. My girlfriend has celiac disease, and it was no problem at all; it was taken into account at every meal. The food was delicious and very varied. The morning and evening game drives were a unique experience. Some lasted up to three or four hours, and the drivers clearly took their time. We didn't know what to expect, but we were absolutely thrilled. It was a perfect Experience to make a Safari art the Basecamp Wilderness"
Olare Mara Kempinski Masai Mara ★★★★★
"We have traveled around Africa (Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Botswana, South Africa, Zimbabwe) and this was our favorite place for wildlife BY FAR. The conservancy aspect is absolutely the way to go. You get to see the animals up close (since the guides have the flexibility to drive off the paths), without having twenty other trucks pushing to see the same thing. The first day we spent 30 minutes with a cheetah (and it was just us). We traveled in May, before the dry season and loved it. The landscape is still green and lush and the animal density was good. We managed several of the more difficult sightings (leopards, cheetahs). Our team of David and John were amazing guides. Not only does David know where to find the animals, he knows where they are headed (so we always got amazing pictures). You can tell they both love what they are doing. The staff is exceptional! Every single staff member is friendly. The actual tent is gorgeous and very clean. The hotel is unfenced, so enjoy the animal noises outside of your tent. We regularly had hippos and giraffes making nosies at night. We stayed for four days and three nights. That felt about right, but in hindsight we would have enjoyed an additional night. Figuring in the transportation, game drives, lodging and meals, it felt reasonable from a value aspect. We opted for the fly-in / fly-out and it was definitely worth it. 30 minute flight beats bouncing around in a truck for hours."
