A Wonderful Getaway at Irene Resort in Koh Lipe Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5) I recently had the pleasure of vacationing with my wife at Irene Resort in the breathtaking destination of Koh Lipe, and overall, our experience was nothing short of amazing. From the outstanding service to the delectable food, this resort truly exceeded our expectations. The moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the friendly and attentive staff. Their genuine hospitality and willingness to go the extra mile made us feel like VIPs throughout our stay. Every request, big or small, was met with a smile and promptness, adding to the overall exceptional service. The resort itself is a hidden gem nestled in a serene location, providing the perfect setting for a romantic getaway. The well-maintained grounds, lush greenery, and peaceful ambiance contributed to a sense of tranquility that allowed us to truly unwind and connect with nature. Speaking of nature, the surrounding beauty of Koh Lipe is simply breathtaking. Pristine white sand beaches, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and vibrant marine life make this island paradise a true haven for nature enthusiasts. Snorkeling and diving in the nearby coral reefs were unforgettable experiences, offering us a glimpse into a vibrant underwater world. Now, let's talk about the food! The culinary delights at Irene Resort were nothing short of exceptional. The diverse menu offered a wide range of delectable dishes that catered to every palate. Each meal was meticulously prepared with fresh ingredients and presented beautifully. We savored every bite and were left impressed by the skilled chefs who clearly took pride in their craft. Although our vacation was filled with joy and memorable moments, I must mention the only downside we encountered. The lack of sufficient lighting outside at night posed a safety hazard, as my wife unfortunately tripped and hurt her ankle. However, it is worth noting that the resort staff responded swiftly and provided immediate assistance, ensuring she received the necessary care. While this incident was unfortunate, it did not overshadow the overall fantastic experience we had at Irene Resort. In conclusion, our vacation at Irene Resort in Koh Lipe was an extraordinary experience. The impeccable service, delectable cuisine, and the island's natural beauty left us with lasting memories. We highly recommend this resort to anyone seeking a romantic and rejuvenating getaway. With its warm hospitality and stunning surroundings, Irene Resort truly stands out as a haven of tranquility and indulgence.

No comments, let me share my accommodation experience. Generally, I don't write reviews, but I think helping everyone is ”avoiding a thunderbolt”? First of all, the location of the hotel is on the tailing beach. The sea water is really clear, but it is also really remote. There are very few tourists. It is very inconvenient to go anywhere. The surrounding is not lively. I personally feel that it is too quiet! I live in a garden view room. The garden view is generally 1750 per night. Personally, I don’t think it’s cheap, but the hotel’s facilities are really very average. The standard room of the fast hotel is quite large and clean. There are stains on the bed sheets of the average hotel. The key point is I'm also drunk that the 1700+ hotel doesn't have a public swimming pool. Because the hotel is too remote, eating and drinking can only be settled in the hotel. The restaurant in the hotel is not cheap. A small bottle of Corona is 220 baht, which is equivalent to RMB 47? ? ? It matches the price of his room. The breakfast is so-so and totally not worthy of his price. The service attitude is really good. Maybe all the money is spent on the service. Generally speaking, I personally think that the price of this hotel is 7-800 acceptable. After all, it is the most beautiful sea area (other sea areas are not bad, so there is no need to worry about this sea area). I only took some photos of the hotel and the location of the beach. It’s the best place to see. In fact, most of the seaside hotels are pretty good. The weather is good and the film is very good.

Upon arrival at reception, I immediately noticed the sewer and old food smell above the kitchen. -note to self, do not eat here- For the price we paid for a beachfront villa we were handed a plastic card to trade in for a beach towel as if we were at a hostel. Not a very nice beach towel by the way. Over washed and clearly been recycled a few years. The villa (111) was spacious and on the beach. The bathroom is enormous. However, hasn't been cleaned properly in eons. The drain in the shower is open, so don't take your jewelry in with you. Also gives off a powerful aroma of sewage when the shower is going. The villa is walled by glass doors ensuring a great view of the beach and everyone that is planted on the beach and directly next to the villa. The curtains are not blacked out. Very light up at night. The cocktails we ordered from the bar had zero mixers or juice. Tasted more like kerosine than a drink. The Mali resort next door is awesome for cocktails and they let you take it back to the room. Just return the glassware. The bed was not bad - One pillow, really? Do I need another plastic card to trade in? Breakfast- hmm. Caters to Chinese culinary splish splash. Not even Thai options were available. No fresh juice. No musli. No bacon. The meat that is offered is highly mechanically separated and processed. The coffee comes out of a machine, and regardless of the button you choose, it all tastes the same - muddy water. Did I mention the Mali resort? Awesome breakfast options for 250THB. Superb coffee. Overall, we enjoyed the balcony on the beach and the drinks and snacks at the Mali resort. For the price we paid, we'll be back at the Ten Moons Resort.

We were met at the pier by one of the hotel team members who carted our luggage all the way to the hotel. Check-in was a bit odd as there is no front desk so everything is done at the bar. Our unit was at the very back of the resort, backing the kitchen which was very noisy first thing in the morning and woke us up every morning. It's definitely dated and could use some updating. The mini fridge in the unit worked but was literally falling apart and we had a mess of rusty water a few times. Safe in the room didn't work for us. Tons of mosquitoes early morning and at dusk so make sure to bring or purchase good repellent and the coils for the front deck area if you plan to sit outside. No pool but the snorkeling right out front of the resort was really good when we were there. We were told by the owner that throughout the year the visibility and water will change, so although we had perfect water, it won't necessarily be like that in a few months. Some of the fish are a bit aggressive so careful of that. One bit me hard enough that it broke the skin surface and I was bleeding. The beach chairs were nice as well but get taken up pretty quickly. Beach towels were available at the bar. The free breakfast was ok but the coffee was often only lukewarm. Tons of flies flying around the bar area so best to try and get a table nearby to eat at. We had lunch a couple times from the resort and it was pretty good. They brought it right to our table on the beach. Main busy area isn't too far of a walk down the beach. Out of the 7 islands we visited in Thailand, Lipe was the most unfriendly we found as well as the most expensive.

We booked to stay in a fan cottage for 3 nights via the hotel’s own website which had a rate of 900THB per night which seemed better than that on booking engines. First impressions were that it’s a large ‘resort’ right on the beach next to where the speedboat ferries dock and adjacent to Walking Street which is 5 minutes walk away (though we heard no noise from it). There are a range of rooms- cottages with a/c and a block of rooms which also had a/c. There are about a dozen fan only cottages at the rear of the complex. Ours was rustic but clean with intact insect screens and a large bed. The bathroom was half open which was good for drying towels etc. All cottages have a balcony, ours was shaded by trees which kept the room cool though the fan worked well too and we actually slept better than we had in a/c rooms. Only downside to the room was no fridge. It had an old fashioned TV but who watches TV anyway on a Thai island?! Breakfast was included in the price- buffet style with Thai and western dishes. It was nothing special but eatable and enough to put you on until lunch. We liked Ko Lipe and were happy with the room so decided to stay for an extra 2 nights and that’s where we had problems. Again we booked on the hotel website and received a confirmation. We then received an email in broken English which we interpreted as saying the fan bungalows were all full and we would be ‘upgraded’ to an a/c room. We replied that we were already in the room so it would make more sense to upgrade someone else. After getting no response we attempted to clarify the situation with reception. I don’t speak Thai so can’t criticise people for not speaking a foreign language but when dealing with mostly European guests you would expect at least one member of staff to have the basics of English. Unfortunately not. We ended up in a confusion of Google translate messages with a teenage girl who was clearly sick (coughing, sneezing, red eyes and nose) and shouldn’t have been at work. I ended up speaking to ‘a manager’ on the mainland by phone but still couldn’t get any sense from them. Eventually we resorted to replying by email and were eventually told we could stay in the same room. You can go into any tour operator on Walking Street and find staff who speak excellent English. Why the hotel are unable to find staff with foreign language skills is beyond me. My guess is they are employing cheap intern labour from mainland tourism schools which is fine for basic check in and out but they should have at least one person who can communicate with guests if there’s a problem. The majority of rooms seemed empty when we stayed, the exception being the fan rooms which were very good value and always seemed booked out. Maybe the hotel could look at a way of turning off the a/c in some of the bungalows and selling them at a fan room rate? In summary, we were happy with the location of the hotel, the facilities and the room. The stay was spoilt somewhat by a disorgan

Charming Lipe Villa

Koh Lipe|0.04km from Pattaya Beach
We spent 6 nights in the charming and had a bungalow. This was unfortunately very small and tight. Specially the bathroom did not offer much space, making it often wet. For example, the toilet was not avoided being completely wet when doing the shower. Unfortunately, the room was not regularly cleaned, mostly only new towels and water bottles were placed before the door and the bed was made. There are little options for packaging or backpacking or clothing. Unfortunately, there were many use traces and rides that offered enough space for insects etc. For example, we had visiting meals in the bathroom. On the first night we noticed that it had already opened the door of our bungalow, despite closing it, by a slight pressure from outside. After we reported this to the reception, we were offered to change to the room for one night and assured that the door would be repaired next day. We renounced the switch because after the long arrival we didn't want to pack everything again one day and the next day. Unfortunately, it took three days to get our bungalow closed and the castle was replaced. In this time we have packed all the value items in the safe, which is not included in the room price. But we have received it free of charge. Unfortunately we have not been able to sleep well in the 6 nights. Apart from a animal walking by the walls or on the roof at night, the music of the hotel was very noisy on the beach. The first two days a breakfast buffet was offered, which was absolutely in order, but no large choice was offered. After that there was no buffet, why we don't know. Instead, you could choose a la carte between three menus. It is recommended here to have breakfast (e.g. Cafe Tropical) to have some choice and variety and to drink a right coffee. The staff was always friendly when you spoke. There were daily beach towels for hotel guests free. The beach before the hotel is not recommended as there are very many boats and tourists coming out and arrive, and the bathroom is only very limited.

Green View Beach Resort

Koh Lipe|0.11km from Pattaya Beach
Green view garden resort Wow so much to say about this place. Let’s start by saying I was not bothered about not having tv, A/C, fridge or any other kind appliances however a basic amenity such as hot water in the shower should be available. Their response asking about it “but the booking information did not say it would be available”. Never have a I stayed in a hotel/hostel/bungalow or any other place that would have not had hot water in the shower. Or that the lack of this is not mentioned in the property details. Other minuses come from the constant noise: other bungalows as the walls are good as paper, neighbouring hotels’ A/C machine blasting directly towards the bungalows and the small but busy alley between the hotels with non stop traffic from dusk to dawn, not forgetting the renovations taking place middle of peak season, air-nail guns blasting most days, fixing the bamboo huts at the front of the resort, near the sunbathing area. My hut also had a citrus tree above the bathroom ceiling made from corrugated steel, giving nightly heart attacks in the form of dropping citrus fruit bombs. Let’s carry on with the interior of the huts. Nails protruding from the floor boards, small wardrobe / cabinet which doors did not close and mere 3 plastic hangers and finally messed up electricity that resulted a non-stop flickering ceiling light. On the positive side the electricity is produced by solar panels. The staff, constantly having discussions with guests about multiple issues, some taking place 11pm at night in the bungalow next to you. Although I am all for sustainable development, traveling and hotels, this place is not worth the overpriced cost they’re charging. Sustainability would be better represented if the huts would have wooden hangars and reception could offer water refilling station. The lack of this just pushes the guests to buy plastic water bottles from the local shops adding to the n growing problem of plastic on the island. When booking be aware that the room information does not include that only few of the bungalows have actual hot water.

Clean and comfortable dorm room (4 pax female dorm). Easy check in, great location, air con and a gorgeous cafe below which does some of the best coffee on the island. Would highly recommend for overall value for money. The road can get noisy in the evening due to its central location for light sleepers, but by midnight it’s pretty quiet.

Breakfast choice is still more, the hotel is located in sunrise, we live in the breeze room in the middle of the second row has a small slit to see the beach, probably the breeze is the meaning, the hotel walks to the pedestrian street will pass the locals' accommodation area, garbage disposal is not Too bad in time. The room is a separate one, the privacy is OK, the bathroom is too big, the water is too small, and the bath needs to be washed for a long time. In general, it is still possible.

I could only wish that the staff at the restaurant could speak and understand english. We liked the happy hour, the bar and the staff - Thanks to all at the Ananya Lipe - we’ll be back👍🏻👍🏻
San Pita

I'm not used to writing negative reviews because I think I know how to choose accommodations that don't disappoint me. Unfortunately the San Pita did not satisfy me. The word resort is often abused in Thailand and this is certainly one of the cases like the 3 star hotel... The structure in the center of Ko Lipe is convenient to everything but in itself the island is so small that everything is close to everything... so ex post I would have chosen another structure near the beach and not near a mosquito-generating pond/landfill. As for the structure, we were in a 3-bed room on the ground floor next to a small swimming pool, I would say, suitable only for children. The room had a strong damp smell and the bathroom was separated from the rest by a transparent plastic sheet. A further problem was in the plumbing system whose random pipes started an unpleasant concert after use. Breakfast was also dull and we found the toaster always invaded by ants. I'm sorry for the people who manage the structure with commitment but it is not up to the standard indicated.
Bundhaya Resort

Apart from being almost on the beach itself, this place is a bit overrated as far as overall quality of certain aspects of their offer in services and amenities. Room is confortable, view from it is fabulous but…the pillows are horribly hard, woke up with a sore neck, the food at their restaurant is kind of ok if you choose Thai food but for American food, it is, let say, less than average, there are some choices that they scratch from their menu because they just don’t know how to cook it, simple thing bruschetta, club sandwich, breakfast is also pretty boring if you not Asian; cold and uncooked chicken sausages, cold chicken ham presented in cold water bowl, coffee is good though and toast are great, I ended up eating that only…last déception, beach access from beach front villa number 2 you need to walk about 200 meters right to the marina entrance or 200 meters left to the restaurant to get access to the beach that is about 20 meters right in front of your room. There is a concrete wall, high of about 1.6 meters that separates you from the beautiful white sand beach. See photos attached…

Firstly we was greeted on the pier by a member of staff who carried our luggage to the hotel transportation, we had approximately a 10 minute transfer to the hotel. Reception staff were lovely, we was greeted with an ice cold juice as well as a cold towel to cool us down, after a swift check in we was taken to our room on a golf buggy, we stayed in the honeymoon suite. The room itself was beautiful, very big, amazing AC and a jacuzzi inside the room. The room is situated higher up in the complex to allow for great views but with that comes a fairly steep 5 minute walk to get to your room. The breakfast was very good, standard options for Thailand, pastries, yoghurts, rice/noodles, eggs & bacon, pancakes, omelettes made to order plus some home baked cakes and cookies. A good selection of teas, coffees and juices available. The location of the hotel was perfect for us, about a 10 minute walk along the beach to ‘walking street’ which is the hub of the island… the hotel is situated on Pattaya beach and is honestly one of the best beaches I’ve ever been on with certainly the nicest and clearest water. I would happily recommend this hotel and it’s services.
