It strikes a perfect balance between feeling homely and offering all the amenities you’d expect from a high-quality stay, all set within a beautiful jungle environment. Arriving by car was straightforward, and one of the first things that stood out was the charming luggage pulley system that carries your bags up to the main house. It’s a small touch, but really memorable and adds to the character of the place. I was greeted by several friendly staff members, and check-in was quick and easy. The design and architecture of the property are what initially drew me in, and it absolutely lived up to expectations. I was shown to my room straight away and couldn’t have been happier. The bed was very comfortable, and the standout feature is the private balcony, which looks directly out into the surrounding jungle. It’s the kind of place you can sit for hours, just listening to nature. The room itself is thoughtfully equipped, with bathrobes, towels, a hairdryer, and a full set of bathroom amenities. There’s also a fridge stocked with cold bottled water. The bathroom was spacious, with a large shower and a beautiful freestanding bath positioned to take in the jungle views. The atmosphere really comes into its own in the evening, when the property is softly lit, creating a calm and relaxing setting. Waking up early to watch the sunrise from the balcony was a highlight. The light filtering through the trees and the sounds of the forest make it feel very special. In the morning, I was served a traditional Thai breakfast, with the option of fresh drip coffee and orange juice, which was a great start to the day. The location is also ideal, around a 10 to 15 minute walk from the main Mae Kampong village, so you’re close enough to explore while still enjoying peace and quiet. Overall, this was a really relaxing and restorative stay. I’m very glad I chose Portare Home and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Mae Kampong."

The property is nestled right in the heart of lush forests and valleys, making the atmosphere incredibly serene and close to nature. It is the perfect destination for a true relaxation. A quick tip for future travelers: there is no mobile phone signal here, which actually helps you unplug. However, they provide excellent, high-speed Wi-Fi, so you can still stay connected if needed. What made our stay even more special was the hospitality. Every single staff member was attentive, polite, and took wonderful care of us. The food was also fantastic! "A lovely little house near Mae Kampong village. I stayed here for 2 nights and it was a pleasant stay. The room had a loft, with a double bed on each floor. The bathroom with a shower is inside the room. Everything was clean, and the sisters who own this place are very sweet. I slept wonderfully – to the sound of running water (the house is by a mountain stream) in the fresh air. I was pleasantly surprised that despite the high humidity, there were no mosquitoes, and I could sleep with the windows wide open at night. It was an indescribable pleasure! The breakfast was standard – toast, cereal, coffee, fruit. There was also a hot dish – rice soup. The only minor drawback was that the bedding on the second floor smelled of tobacco. As a non-smoker, it was unpleasant, and I chose not to sleep there."

It’s located just 5 km from the main hub, which gave us the absolute best of both worlds: total peace and tranquility at night, while still being a quick and easy drive to all the main attractions, restaurants, and sights during the day. What truly set this place apart, though, was the host. The owner is incredibly warm, helpful, and welcoming—especially if you're traveling with furry friends! It’s rare to find places that are so genuinely pet-friendly, and our pet was made to feel just as welcome as we were. Overall, it’s fantastic value for money. Spotless, peaceful, and hosted by someone who truly cares about their guests. We will definitely be coming back on our next trip! Highly recommended!"

"The accommodation by the waterfall is beautiful, and you can walk down to play in it. The staff provided great service. About 100 meters away, there's a shuttle to Mae Kampong. The breakfast set was good, and the *Mookata* (Thai BBQ) in the evening was excellent."
