"Such a cozy hostel! It has beautiful grounds, friendly staff, delicious breakfasts, and clean rooms with air conditioning. The location is convenient too: within walking distance of many cafes, bars, shops, and the sea. You can even buy tours to major attractions and book transfers right at the hostel, all at affordable prices. We were really happy with everything."

"Due to everywhere being so busy after staying in the sea view suite the only space was the dorm but I was blown away but how well appointed it was. I was keen to stay a second night after being blown away by every aspect of the hotel. The staff were amazing, kind, polite, super helpful.  My pod was quite, safe, secure, private, clean and comfy as well as still affording me the super facilities of the resort like the sea access. And great breakfast. My favourite location in town as such a nice route through to town.  Can’t recommend enough for budget traveller."

"I highly recommend this hotel; every aspect shows great care. The room was spotlessly clean, and the facilities were well-maintained with no signs of damage or wear. The bed was very comfortable, and the pillows were just the right height, ensuring a high-quality sleep. The bathroom was clean and odor-free, with a full set of toiletries provided. The front desk service was professional, efficient, and their attitude was gentle and patient, making you feel very welcome. The hotel's public areas were tidy and bright, and the environment was quiet and not noisy. The location is excellent, convenient for both taxis and the subway. For its type, the value for money is very high. It's suitable for both business trips and leisure travel, and I will definitely stay here again."

"We had a pleasant stay at D Gecko Hotel overall. The hotel is located a bit farther in along an unpaved road, which made the access slightly inconvenient. We booked a family room, and it was very spacious, perfect for our group. It came with two single beds and one double bed, which made it comfortable for everyone. We also appreciated the small details like having a kettle in the room and a free water dispenser available for refills, which was a big plus. The only downside for us was the pillows, which were not very comfortable for sleeping. Aside from that, it was a nice stay and good value for families."

"I had a pleasant stay at West Coast Beach House in Moalboal, Cebu. The room was simple and comfortable enough during the stay. The team member were very friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. One thing to note is that it’s best to bring your own toilet amenities. "A wonderful stay. It's not far from the beach and the city, but offers a tranquil environment away from the hustle and bustle. There's even a massage available when you're tired; the elderly lady's massage skills are superb, and the price is reasonable."

"⸻ We were supposed to stay two nights but ended up extending our stay to three, proof that we really enjoyed this resort. The Filipino staff is exceptional: welcoming, smiling, and always available. The manager is fantastic, very professional, speaks several languages, and we have absolutely no complaints. Upon our departure, there was even a French-speaking receptionist, which made communication even easier. The food is excellent, of very high quality. It's a bit more expensive, but that's perfectly understandable given the resort's secluded location. The resort is out of the way, so access can be a little tricky, but that's the price you pay for absolute peace and quiet, a virtually deserted beach, and an immaculate pool. Scooters can easily be rented to reach the amenities. I don't understand some of the negative reviews: you can't expect tranquility without accepting a bit of isolation. 👉 Rating: 8/10 👉 I highly recommend it."

"The front desk staff were incredibly warm and helpful! I felt so welcome. It was my first time in the Philippines, and they patiently answered all my travel questions and provided great assistance. The common areas have super gentle resident dogs and cats, who are very well-behaved. The facilities are a little bit dated; mainly, the refrigerator made a slight noise when cooling (though you can just unplug it). Breakfast is à la carte and delicious, especially the corned beef, I think it was called. I slept very soundly. We booked the Sardine Run (our first snorkeling experience) and canyoning through the hotel. Here's how it went: the Sardine Run was 1900 pesos per person? I forgot the price for canyoning, but it wasn't expensive at all, and totally worth it!"

TLDR: an amazing stay in general. Perfect for people seeking a getaway The hotel is located a bit south to the moalboal town center (approx. 10min by tutuk or motorbike) and away from the main road. You’ll need to cross a bridge made of bamboo sticks first to find your entrance. It’s a quiet place where you can only hear the nature and your own thoughts. I’d highly recommend the restaurant because they offer great food at a reasonable price, although takes some time to serve so order in advance. Kudos to the owners who are almost always present and will come to the table to introduce themselves and make recommendations if needed. Staff are well-trained and very helpful. You’ll also get the chance to observe some of the wildlife species like birds and lizards while staying there, which is a plus for me. A 10/10 experience. Don’t miss it if you enjoy some peace and quiet in the nature.

Excellent hotel! The rooms are cozy, and the staff are polite and helpful. The rooms are fresh and clean, and the grounds are well-maintained too. The location isn't the most convenient if you're on foot, but the hotel itself is in a beautiful spot. They also offer scooters at a very good price – cheaper than renting them 'on the street'. When we arrived, all the scooters were taken, but the girls at the reception suggested a company they work with, and everything was delivered right to the hotel for us. When a hotel scooter became available, we took that. They also helped us with tours. We initially booked the hotel for 2 nights, but we loved it so much that we extended our stay for another 3. By the way, the transfer from the hotel is also more cost-effective than arranging it yourself. The hotel owners, Nick and Raquel, are very kind and open-hearted; it was a real pleasure and very interesting to chat with them. Abigail and the other girls are also positive and always ready to help. At this hotel, you feel like you're visiting close relatives. Thank you! We would be very happy to stay with you again!)

This place is highly recommended. The place is neat and perfect for tourists. The price of the food is quite expensive but it's worth it. Overall experience is great! We wanna go back soon, if given the chance. Thank you to the friendly staff of the hotel, as well as the administration.

The hotel is in more private location compared to most resorts in Moalboal. This is a quiet area, with private access to the sea, which is very shallow and easily accessible, particularly during low tide. Resorts itself is nice, the pool was OK, diving also enjoyable, although cylinders were a bit on the empty side. Staff was always very nice. Unfortunately, food was not so good and overpriced, we had much better things to eat in other resorts or in town, which is 10-20 minutes away by tuk tuk.

We were there with my daughter just for some days and spent to receive PADIS diving certification due to the coach Lin and Head of diving center John, see the Mallball paintful food market and see the local life in seaside. The seawater is clear like glass, plenty of sealife under the leg even close to the beach, awesome surrounding - mountains, tropical vegetation and fancy restaurants and hotels along the beach and of course local boats looking rustic and gorgeous. The food was delicious, staff was friendly. Everything was the best!

If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway surrounded by nature, with a refreshing atmosphere in a remote location and especially if you’re into advanced diving this is an excellent place to stay. We stayed for just 1 night, as we wanted to explore other activities and we’re not advanced divers, so we decided to change our plans. A quick tip: prepare cash in advance. The nearest ATM is quite far from the resort, so you’ll need to take a tricycle or rent a motorbike. The resort only accepts cash. The highlight for us was the stunning sea view and breathtaking sunset. The property isn’t very large, but with plenty of trees it feels secluded and peaceful. The food was also delicious.

Good for diving in Moalboal, its neptune diving shop are downstairs, only 10 metres away from the coast. But of course, the location is at the end of the street. a bit far from the main street restaurants but it just a 5-10mins walk, acceptable . But it is noisy at night, because it is facing a night club . can hear shouting and music from my room till 2-3am.... the hotel restaurant downstairs but my booking didn't include the breakfast , buy separately will be around 200-300 peso. Air conditioning is not cool enough. no tooth brush ,paste and hair dryer provided. And the water is hardwater, you can buy bottle water yourself. we arrived late, needed to climb to the top (3rd floor). the staff also helped to take the luggage. The hotel provided car pick up service from Cebu Mactan airport 3000peso 3-4hrs. provided Kawasan fall Canoyeering with transport ticket and lunch 2500 per person (4hrs) with ”Nancy Kawasan shop”. Scuba Diving shore 1600peso with gear and dive master, called ”Ar-ink”, nice person.

An absolute nice place to stay in the heart of moalboal. The place was small yet cute offering hostel and private rooms. They are clean and the staffs are very helpful. The downside is that it is in the absolute center so noisy during the evening or else it is perfect to stay in the price.

The hotel's air conditioning is a proper AC unit, not just a cooler! It was so much quieter! Other places had noisy coolers that kept me from sleeping. The hotel front desk can also book tours with pick-up and drop-off, which is incredibly convenient... I wish I had known about this hotel sooner! Highly recommend!
