"Historic bank on the outside, sophisticated boutique hotel on the inside, a brilliant merge! Despite its location being right in the bustling heart of Cairo, with many cafes & shops all around, the building is tucked into a little street with less traffic, so the noise levels are lower. The hotel itself was unassuming from the outside (there was no signage that said ”Saint J Hotel”), but we were warmly greeted by the friendly hotel staff. The lobby was simple but had a lovely, refreshing scent - a nice touch. The rooms were spacious, beautifully-designed & well-equipped with everything we needed & more. Our mother had so much fun cooking a bit of breakfast for the family daily. The beds were so comfortable. The bathrooms were such a delight - super strong rain shower, it was heavenly! There was a washer (with laundry detergent provided) in each room too, which was very handy. Just two things that needs to be improved: 1. Install sheer curtains behind the thick curtains so that guests can let natural light in without worrying about privacy 2. Install hooks or towel bars in the bathroom for guests to hang towels All in all, we were so happy we stayed here!"

"I stayed with my family at this hotel, but they left a little earlier than me. My friend wanted to stay there so that we can go out late , come back to the hotel and he would be able to take me to that airport the next day but the hotel rejected him because he is from Ciaro. I tried to apply for a refund but was rejected. I would like to withdraw the previous review, which was written under peer pressure on the( 2nd day) from one of the hotel staff members named : Hindu. The hotel was fine, but some things weren't for 1) discrimination against guests. 2) denying a refund 3) things went missing from the hotel room 4) the shower wasn't always working well 5) the carpet was very damp when I first arrived 5) my other family members had problems with the restroom, dirty water was coming up 6) my aircon wasnt working, i asked several times for help but to no avail 7) the keys were moved from one reception to another without informing guests. 8) pushy staff members are always asking for us to write reviews ( not all the staff members were like this. They were kind, helpful and present) 9) the hotel offers airport transfer but it's really expensive. Uber is much cheaper. * I wouldn't have written, I would've let it just go but but since the hotel refuses to give a refund, I think it's only fair that other know what my REAL experience was like ."

"I chose this hotel because it's right next to the Egyptian Museum, which was very convenient for my first day in Cairo when I was unfamiliar with the city. It's really close to the museum, and getting to Giza train station by metro to buy tickets was also easy. There were a lot of police cars around, so it felt very safe. The room itself was very new. The only minor issue was that I had booked a pre-payment model, meaning I would pay upon checkout. This usually isn't a problem in my home country, but here, they unexpectedly required a $150 deposit. The platform was responsive and said they would follow up if the deposit wasn't returned later, and the hotel also informed us immediately after receiving the payment. It was just a small hiccup, nothing major. Overall, it was a very good stay! 👍"

"This hotel is right in the heart of the bustling city center. There are tons of places to eat downstairs, and you can easily walk to a Chinese restaurant. The room was really clean, and the duvets were incredibly comfortable – they seemed like high-quality down comforters, definitely a splurge! They were even better than those I've had in hotels costing over a thousand yuan. Breakfast was super generous, and you could even order coffee to be delivered directly to your room. However, there's one issue: it's facing the street. It feels like people in Cairo never sleep; there were motorcycle noises even in the middle of the night. If you're a light sleeper, you might want to avoid this room, or bring earplugs, or ask the hotel to put you on the other side of the building."

"Awesome welcome and service by Mr. Ishmail. The hotel decor was set for Christmas and everyone was ready to help if we had questions. Great, quality amenities, rich breakfast. Clean and bright. Close to airport, so good for early flights. Drop-off available too."

"The room standards are what you'd expect from a five-star hotel. The bed's firmness was just right, the AC worked great, and there was plenty of hot water for a comfortable shower. The only thing is, I had to ask for the disposable toiletries. My luggage was delivered to the room; since it's a tipping country, a small tip was all it took. Oddly, the trash can in the room had a hole in it – impressive! And the bathroom sink was clogged, which was a real pain. Everything else was fine, though. It felt like two different worlds inside and outside the hotel."

"Excellent location near Tahrir Square / Egyptian Museum and Sadat Metro Station. Staff were excellent in particular the manager Mr Ahmed receptionist Alaa and house keeping Azze. Breakfast was good. 7 floors reception and communal lounge on top floor. Whilst we were there I was admitted to hospital they checked up on me daily via my wife and friend who was also staying at the hotel. Warm welcome back when I recovered. About 20 to 30 minute car journey to GEM and the Giza Plateau / Pyramids and Sphinx. About 45 minutes to an hour drive to both Sphinx and Cairo Airports"

"Excellent place and great people I was visiting Cairo for several days to refresh old memories because I have lived in Zamalek 50 years ago. I looked for the hotel just somewhere in the heart of Northern part of Zamalek, and location at Taha Hussein street was the best possible option, so I have chosen The President hotel. I had just general expectations as from regular three star hotel, but staff and hotel amenities have exceeded my humble expectations far beyond! The room was very clean and spacious, slippers, toothbrush, shower supplies, teapot, tea, coffee bags, minibar - everything was very nice and provided. Starting from security at entrance and reception (I was put to the level where restaurant is for my convenience), everyone was very nice and polite to me. Housekeeping by Mohammed Eldeep was perfect. Service at breakfast was outstanding (and at dinner too), and chef Mitu had cooked the most delicious food with personal attention and kindness. And tour service provided by manager Dahy was beyond perfection - utmost and ultimately outstanding and fabulous. I was taking complex trips around the city and transfer to the airport. With the greatest scrutinous attention to details from Dahy I got excellent service and very professional drivers so my trips were exceptionally planned and fulfilled in time. To wrap up, I strongly recommend the President hotel due to mostly positive and splendid emotions I have received there during my 3-nights stay. Area has great infrastructure once you need 24/7 groceries, pharmacy or ATM. Don't recommend to drive in Zamalek, better take cab or walk."

"Lovely smart hotel. Several restaurants. Massage and gym. Staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel nice sbd roomy. Rooms spacious. Would stay there again but if you want to be in the town centre with many shops you need to stay closer to city centre as this, was, about 30 minutes from airport. It didn't matter because everything is a short cheap taxi fare away. Also it's next to a military camp where you can see and hear the soldiers marching from your balcony. If the bugle noise bothers, you at 6am then maybe not for you. Also, but not related to the hotel you'll be woken up at 4am by the, wailing from the mosques but you can't really get away from that can you. The hotel I understand is, owned by the military and so you'll often see soldiers stay there. They weren't any trouble. In fact it made you feel safe. "
