"I stayed at the State Guesthouse for two nights. The lobby was grand, and the room was clean, tidy, and well-equipped. However, I absolutely, absolutely do not recommend swimming in the pool! The water in the pool was murky, and there were so many children soaking in it that they completely packed the lanes. There was no coach or lifeguard to supervise, so it was impossible to swim. Perhaps this pool is purely for kids to play in, which is a shame. Also, at night, you can hear the highway and train sounds, so if you're a light sleeper or have trouble falling asleep, remember to bring earplugs."

"The service here is like in a 5 star hotel. Ming at the desk in particular is very helping and will go an extra mile for you. The room was cozy, clean, perfect for short stay if you're here for Fanjingshan or Tongren grand canyon. However, the name on this site and on the street is different so I posted a photo of the real name displayed on the street. Totally recommend this place, Tongren is cute little city as opposed to big ones 1st tier cities. One more shout out to Ming who was really taking good care of us and also through WeChat answering promptly on all our questions."

We had originally booked another place, but when we were exploring the ancient city, the host of our original booking said there wasn't enough space for our group. After canceling that, we spontaneously booked Fanjia in the ancient city, and it was a pleasant surprise. The kids absolutely loved it. It's just a few minutes' walk to the foot of Dongshan Mountain, and if you go up, you can see the 500-year-old Dongshan Temple."

"This guesthouse is absolutely wonderful! It's a charming, antique-style courtyard right inside Tongren Ancient City, with the pedestrian street literally at its doorstep. I even got to try a cup of Tongren's famous matcha – no wonder it's known as the 'Matcha Capital'! The guesthouse's location is just perfect. The ancient city's night view is stunning, and there are so many local snacks and specialties like indigo dyeing and, of course, matcha products. I bought so much; it felt like a shopping spree! 😂 Haha, I'll definitely bring my friends next time."

"Pretty good. It's very close to the train station, which was convenient since I arrived late that evening and needed to head to Fanjing Mountain early the next morning. The hotel is also very close to the bus station, and the shuttle bus to the scenic area picks up right outside. My only complaint is that after checking out in the morning, I waited for the bus and suddenly felt unwell (my own issue, really). I went back to the front desk to ask if I could use a restroom, and the staff member just told me there wasn't one available and to find one outside. Where was I supposed to go? It felt like once I checked out, I was no longer a guest. A bit frustrating. 😮💨"

However, for a suite, the bedroom's bed and sofa being in the same area made it feel less like a true suite and more like an upscale apartment. "This hotel was a truly delightful surprise! It's right across from the high-speed train station. The front desk staff was so thoughtful; since I had luggage, the young lady at the front desk kindly advised me to cross the zebra crossing on the left side of the station exit. The overall environment is clean and elegant, and the room was tidy and spacious with a very thoughtful layout, making my stay incredibly comfortable. They even provided disposable face towels, which is a perfect touch! Check-in was quick, and the service was excellent. The location is also very convenient for getting around and dining, offering fantastic value for money! The photos are real and unfiltered, and my experience was absolutely perfect. I'm extremely satisfied and highly recommend it. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit. Five stars, for sure! ✨"

The hotel is very close to the train station, and it only takes ten minutes to walk from the room to the train station. The lady boss is very considerate and will get up early to cook eggs for the guests. When checking out in the morning to catch the train, the boss enthusiastically reminded me not to forget to take the eggs, which was very touching. There are coffee and other drinks and small snacks and desserts available at the front desk. The room also provides a washing machine, a disinfection cabinet and a smart toilet. The price-performance ratio of this hotel is quite high. The only drawback is that the window sound insulation is a bit poor. You can hear the sound of the train, and wearing earplugs does not affect your sleep. The hotel has free parking, and it is very convenient to park and return the car when renting a car for a self-driving tour.

It was such a surprise find at Fanjingshan. The rooms are big with modern facilities including toilet seat sensor. The inn also has a lift for those with big luggages and don’t want to climb the stairs with them, a feature that is not in all the inns around. We have such a comfortable stay, even if it was just for a night. We took a didi to the inn in the evening and in the morning, the owner drove us to the gate of Fanjingshan to purchase the tickets. He also offered to pick us up when we are done for the day at fjs. He also helped us to engage a driver who drove us to fenghuang ancient town for a fair price based on our cab fare from Tongren to fjs. I will definitely recommend this inn which is also new, opened in March 2023. 房间干净偏大，负有摩登设施。 民宿里也有电梯，无需扛大行李上楼。 我们住得舒适也吃得好。 推荐！

We stayed for two nights because the hotel is conveniently located near Fanjingshan. While the location was suitable for our visit, the overall experience was disappointing. The hotel was extremely quiet when we first arrived, and it appeared that we were the only guests during our stay. Unfortunately, the level of service did not meet expectations. On our first night, we requested washing powder so that we could do some laundry. We were told that it had run out and that more would be available the following morning. However, when we checked the next day, there was still no washing powder available. More frustratingly, the staff made no effort to update us on the situation or offer an alternative solution. This lack of communication and initiative was disappointing. The bed was also very hard and uncomfortable. We eventually decided to extend our stay by one more night because my wife was experiencing back pain and preferred not to travel. However, our sleep quality did not improve. At around 6:00 a.m., we were awakened by other guests talking loudly in the corridor and by the constant noise of doors opening and closing. The soundproofing appears to be poor, as noises from the hallway could be clearly heard inside the room. Between the uncomfortable bed, inadequate sound insulation, and the lack of attentiveness from the staff, we did not get the restful stay we had hoped for. .

The hotel is located at the entrance to the road leading to the fanjingshan scenic area. It will take you around a 15mins walk or so to reach the tourist centre where you can purchase your tickets to enter the park. The hotel is mostly aurrounded by fellow hotels and restaurants and a tiny weeny convenience stall just beside the hotel. The plump lady receptionist might sound crude but she is extremely friendly and helpful. The reception area is sparse but the room is defintely okay.not many guests when i was staying there. It is worth a stay though there is nothing much to do around the area and if your aim is just to visit fanjingshan

The room was huge and well laid out, with a living room and two toilets, which made the stay very comfortable. A one-time-use bathtub cover was provided for hygiene, which I appreciated. The smart toilet bowl automatically opens the lid—though it still catches me off guard sometimes. I stayed for two nights. As part of my usual routine, I always check the TV and Wi-Fi functionality upon check-in, and I noticed that the TV in the bedroom was not working. I reported this to the reception, but it was not fixed during my stay. On the second night, there were inconsistent loud banging noises coming from the upper floor between 9–10 pm, which sounded like construction. This was also reported to the reception, and they sent a staff member to my room to check. She also heard the noise when I asked her to come inside the room, to my surprise the noise can only be heard in my room, not even outside the door. As I had just returned to the hotel at that time, I told her I would monitor the situation and inform her if the noise continued closer to my bedtime. She was apologetic and mentioned that she would look into the issue. I appreciated her effort, although the noise was disruptive and did affect my overall experience. The hotel is about a 30-minute drive to Tongren Railway Station and around 10 minutes to Tongren Ancient City. I would recommend this hotel if you’re only staying for a short period since there’s nothing much to do other than visiting the Fan Jing Shan Mountain (personal opinion). Side note: bed quality is indeed good, just nice for people with back pain issue.

The environment is great, and the rooms are clean and hygienic. Staying on the ground floor is even better because you can park your car right outside, which makes it easy to unload luggage. The high humidity in summer was actually good for my skin! The only downside was that clothes don't dry outside, so I had to hang them indoors. The hotel breakfast was a bit simple, but everything else was fine. The hotel is just across the bridge from the scenic area entrance, and you can even play in the water under the bridge.

I was pleasantly surprised on my first trip here. I booked such a wonderful guesthouse right away. The owner was kind and friendly, and even helped me with my luggage. The courtyard layout was exactly what I wanted, and the cleanliness was also excellent. I would definitely come back again. It was a very satisfying experience!

I think they saw me wandering about and figured I was looking for their hotel haha. Gave me guidance on how to get to fanjingshan. It seems to be run by a nice family. bit of a language barrier but you can communicate over translate - hotels ask for more details than hostels so if you don't speak chinese you should prepare your name, nationality, phone number, previous city etc. with chinese labels beforehand to make the process smoother Location Walking distance from train station. You can walk into the central town but there is a nearby bus stop too (although all the buses I went on were crammed). Also walking distance to the tourist centre bus stop to other cities. Has shops below. I think I might have struggled a bit to find it if they hadn't seen me. quite a nice view of the surrounding buildings and their lights A bit grubby around the edges e.g. the toilet hadn't been cleaned and it was very close to the shower, but it is so cheap you can't really complain More hostel vibes than hotel
