"Going to Alishan -> Where's the Alishan Hotel? -> Why is the hotel so cheap today? Following this stream of consciousness, I planned my trip around that one strangely cheap day for a hotel, which ended up being a trip to Taichung. There were many reviews, but the location is great, and the view is absolutely fantastic. They even posted the sunrise train schedule for Chaoping Station and the sunrise time in the hotel lobby. There's also a round-trip shuttle to the Alishan Information Center. The hotel room was clean, and they informed me that hot water would be available until midnight, but it was still working fine in the morning. The air conditioner is a combined heating and cooling unit. If you switch the mode correctly, you'll see a 'heat' indicator. It was a bit chilly that day, but I slept warmly. The hotel room is quite spacious, and the bedding is excellent. When booking through Trip.com, it states that you need to call to confirm your reservation two days before your stay. I recommend trying to send an email first. It was a difficult time for both the staff member and me... ㅠㅠ Sending an email resolved it very simply. And for some reason, Trip.com also called me separately regarding the reservation. I'm still not sure if they confirmed the reservation on Trip.com's end and notified me, or if they did it because my initial attempt to use Trip.com's internet call failed. The check-in process was assisted by a male staff member who was very friendly. Thank you! The hotel has a restaurant, but it's entirely reservation-based. I ate dinner outside, so I reserved for breakfast. It was served neatly and simply. In the morning, the door to the stairs is blocked, so you have to use the elevator."

"One of only two hotels located within Alishan National Scenic Area, it's a bit pricey, but the rooms are comfortable and the breakfast and dinner buffets are excellent, so you don't have to go down the mountain to find food. You can watch the sunset from the observation deck, and they can also arrange a bus trip for sunrise viewing. It's not too far from the Giant Trees Trail or the station. It's definitely worth staying two nights to leisurely enjoy the Alishan experience."

"The service was exceptional! On the day my girlfriend and I were checking out, we wanted to spend a bit more time exploring Alishan National Scenic Area before catching our train down the mountain. Before we even had a chance to ask, the staff at the front desk proactively offered to deliver our luggage directly to the train station, saving us the trip back to the hotel. This level of service was incredibly thoughtful! The hotel's shuttle arrived at the station at 11:30 AM, just as we were returning from exploring Zhaoping Park. We were able to board our 11:50 AM train down the mountain effortlessly. We're truly grateful for the hotel staff's incredible help!"

"This is one of the few newly renovated, clean, and comfortable accommodations within the Alishan area. The location is unbeatable, the electric blankets are a thoughtful touch, and the service is friendly. They even offer a shuttle to the bus station. The poor soundproofing and the walk to breakfast are definite drawbacks, but for the convenience of watching the sunrise within the park, it's still highly recommended!"

"After reading other reviews, I was prepared for the worst, but it wasn't as bad as I expected. The pros are its excellent location, just a 5-7 minute walk to Alishan Railway Station. There's parking right in front, which is great for those driving. The breakfast restaurant they partner with is also really good! 👍👍👍 The downside is the poor soundproofing; you occasionally hear footsteps or people talking. However, since I was so tired, I fell asleep quickly, so it didn't bother me much. 🤣🤣🤣"

"Highly recommended if you are looking for a chill and comfortable stay. The environment was great, quiet, and relaxing, while the owner was very friendly and helpful. The owner requested an additional TWD200 for my 5-year-old boy and kindly upgraded our room from 3 double beds to 4 double beds. The breakfast was comforting and tasty. They also provided stationery and coloring materials for kids to draw and paint, which was perfect for keeping my little one entertained. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay. The owner also kindly explained the route to Alishan and even brought us to watch the sunrise, which made the experience even more memorable."

"The place is on top of a small slope. Its environment is calm and peaceful. Room is clean, water pressure is strong. One can sit outside the room looking out to the far mountains. Breakfast is nice especially the sofa bean drink. It is near to a bus stop and also near a convenient store. It is also convenient to watch the sunrise a short distance away from the place. Would go back to stay if there is opportunity. Thanks for hosting us."

There are so many intricate room details to experience firsthand, such as the accessible bathroom, dust-free, bug-free, and odor-free environment, key cards, drinking water, and complimentary snacks. 2. Ideal for travelers who dislike rushing between places. It's a great spot for a few days of solo travel to relax and rejuvenate. You can quietly work with a cup of coffee, or swim, exercise, and sing to unwind. With a bit of creativity, you could even host a banquet in the front yard. 3. A guesthouse that offers comfort, freedom, and an uncompromised quality experience."

"It’s a 10 mins walk to the nearest convenience store and eateries near to Xiding bus stop. The path gets quite dim and quiet at night. What’s nearby is mainly the “Tea and Mist Trail” - entrance to the trail is 2 mins walk from Dafang. The nearest bus stop to Dafang is Lincuo (3-5 mins walk away), which is not a major stop i.e. you can get off the tourist shuttle bus but you can’t board at Lincuo bus stop. The nearest stop to board the bus is Xiding. The room was fairly comfortable, but we were far from impressed with the aesthetics. Functional wise, It would have been useful to have a clothing rack in the room. While the room is spacious, the bathroom is rather cramped. Breakfast was simple and individually served, at the rooftop lounge which offers a great view of the mountain range."

"From the moment we checked in, we felt such warm and friendly hospitality ☺️. The room view was absolutely beautiful~ We especially loved the room's balcony, where we could listen to the birds, gaze at the lush tea plantations, and enjoy some wine with friends while waiting for dusk to arrive – it was incredibly relaxing ❤️❤️❤️. The room was very clean, and the bed was extra large and super comfortable~ Especially the breakfast included with the stay; it was a very traditional ********* congee that made us exclaim how much we missed it! It tasted just like Grandma's cooking from childhood~ Everything was so satisfying. Thank you to everyone at 'Palms Clap' and the staff ❤️❤️❤️ We will definitely be back!"
