We arrived very late due to challenging road conditions and bad weather, but despite the late hour, we were welcomed with big smiles and genuine kindness. The staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and ensure that we had everything we needed. The peaceful surroundings, excellent service, and welcoming atmosphere made our experience truly special. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return. Highly recommended for a memorable bush escape!"

"Luvit. On my favourite list of places to stay. Wonderful revamp plan created good vibe while maintaining excellent functionality. Central to all the fun bits around Karkloof. Their breakfast cook makes the best poached eggs, exactly as you order! I like cooking for myself, so the well-appointed kitchen designed around a mighty gas stove went a long way to please. It was rather warm during my stay, so I didn’t get to start up the wood furnace. I can only imagine how cozy that could make the apartment on a chilly evening… Staff: always helpful and friendly. Shops are full of homemade treasures."

"VERY over priced. Coffee - only 2 sachets provided. No option of tea. So either have one before bed or the morning!!! The only form of toileties, was a little round soap in a wrapper and an empty plastic bottle with a label stating "shampoo". Not even hand soap at the basin or a hand towel. Single ply toilet paper looked like rats had been at it. Mats in the bathroom had holes, as did the spare double/queen sized blanket for the single bed. No hairdryer. Electric blanket did not work and temp was around 3°. Thank goodness I had taken my hotwater bottle. Had 3 mis-matched cups, glasses, plates etc. Floor rug could do with a wash. Curtains are really thin and don't block out the lights from outside. Only 1 2-pin plug point in the room. There were various notices stuck with prestick on the walls indicating Rules, Tv guide, don't feed dogs, no smoking etc. Why not put all in a little flip file all in one place?? The single bed was comfortable and there was hot water for a shower. Location is good but needs loads of TLC. Don't think I will be going back any time soon."

Staff so genuinely friendly and accommodating. Excellent breakfasts while viewing the meadows. Dinners acceptable with huge portions but lack some culinary finesse. Overall a pleasant experience to remember."

"We stayed at Hallieell country In for 2 nights preceeding the Comrades marathon. This is a really wonderful establishment. Lynn went out of her way to accommodate us and communication was really good. Our room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. Being winter, we appreciated the fireplace. Having an on-site restaurant is a bonus too. We left at 4am for the marathon and Lynn even packed a breakfast pack for my hubby as he was supporting my son and I. I highly recommend this accommodation and will definitely stay here again."

"We had lunch at the very English pub called Boar's Head. We loved the atmosphere, especially as there was a huge storm raging outside. It was the perfect setting to have a curry and we really enjoyed both the food and the ambiance of the Boar's Head Pub. I personally love old and quaint hotels like this and the gardens are beautiful."

"Terrible stay. I would not recommend at all. Beware that pictures on the website do not match the actual hotel. The rooms were so old and we had no electricity over the long weekend. Breakfasts were so bad - the Restaurant was out of sausages, bacon and , avocado. Waited over 45mins to be served. What was supposed to be a nice weekend away turned out to be a nightmare."
