Hot Springs Hotels in Shimoda

This hotel rating 4.2 is really deserved! First of all, there is no seaside, just in the vicinity, there is no scenery through the window, all are houses. The equipment in the house is also very poor, old and not retro. . . . Secondly, breakfast only bread boiled white egg milk juice. There is no hot food, no tray service, it is full buffet. Eating on the first floor, there is no scenery outside. Finally, Tangchi is also a pool on the top floor, which is much worse than other soup pools in Japan. Because the price of the May Day has risen sharply, more than 800 in the evening, this price/performance ratio, think about it.

This authentic Japanese inn offers delicious food, a private outdoor hot spring, and thoughtful touches throughout, reflecting meticulous service. The courtyard is lush and green; it must be even more beautiful in autumn. Located next to the station, it's within walking distance. An excellent choice for a trip to southern Izu.

I chose it with the taste of the building and the bath. Qiufenglu の Thousand People Fenglu が しみでお Fenglu Sanambi にする is に Subo まり Subo でした. The 1000-person bath was a men's bath and a mixed bath, so it was quite a hurdle for women. I'm glad to have a female time zone if possible. I'm glad I could go to the bath many times because I can rent a bath towel. The room was very enjoyable every time I went back and forth in the room at the end of the maze-like passage. Amazing place to stay,aesthetic view and a great amazing dinner and breakfast ambience. I choose and booked the private villa with pool and which is good,I enjoyed the dinner foods they served us,so classy and elegant presentation. So I ordered the bottle of botega champagne which is fit for the foods they offered. Lovely it was and amazing wonderful evening. After we had a night pool with my partner and we bring our own foods and drinks champagne for the long night to celebrate our stay. I’m very satisfied for my stay at this place. Staff was really nice and good at their service. Perfect 👌 I love to came back again soon… Thank you so much 🤞🏻❣️

202***.23 Arrived at Haneda around 5 AM, then at Atami at 8:26 AM, luckily catching the Kinme-no-Tsurugi (golden-eye sea bream) ocean-viewing train. After having sushi at Fumito for lunch, arrived at Izu-Shimoda Station around 2 PM. The hotel was about a 12-minute walk from the station. Arrived at the hotel at 2:30 PM. After checking in, since it wasn't 3 PM yet, they gave me a card to exchange for a room key later. This card was useful for carrying when leaving the room key at the front desk after going out for meals. After arriving at 3 PM, I exchanged the card for the room key. During check-in, I mentioned the second floor, but was politely refused when I asked if a higher floor was possible, as they said they couldn't specify a floor and the upper floors were full that day. Upon entering the room, I found that the view was only a small glimpse of the distant sea, mostly just roadside greenery. The full-length sea view from the windows in the pictures of the superior family room is definitely only available from higher floors. However, after contacting Ctrip customer service about the floor view issue, I stopped worrying about it. Besides, the second floor connects to the public bath, which is convenient. The Japanese-style tatami rooms were quite spacious and very clean. What I liked most was that the showerhead was located outside the bathroom, so I didn't have to shower in the bathtub – that was great! The toilet was in a separate small room. My favorite thing about the Itoen chain hotel was the free karaoke. While the private rooms didn't have the same view as those in Atagawa, each session was ten minutes longer, and it was once an hour. I booked an hour for 4 PM when I checked in, and then booked another hour for 10 AM the next day at the front desk. I could sing all by myself and had a blast. The onsen (hot spring) was also quite large. The outdoor one was semi-open-air with a roof and a thatched wall covering the opposite side. It had been raining these past few days, so the semi-open-air feel wasn't a problem. Aside from the minor issue with the view, overall, it was a very good hotel with great value for money.

The overall environment is nice, with a sea view. However, since it's off-season, some bar singers aren't working. Driving here is a good option, but taking the bus is inconvenient, with buses running every hour. I didn't realize when booking that the room was for one person only. When checking out, because we were two people, the hotel asked me to pay an additional 800 RMB. They didn't mention the extra fee at check-in... The service experience wasn't very good. I certainly didn't notice this small detail, so please be aware of it when booking.

The key to the room was wobbly, and I couldn't open it unless I did it well. The moment I opened the room, I was a little worried about the smell, but there was a reset in each room and it was okay. I don't recommend it for cleanliness, but the food was delicious with a wide variety of foods. If you enter the pool in the morning, it is OK, but in the evening it will be a little dirty. The sauna temperature setting was low. I complained a lot, but the meal was really satisfying

I came here just for the luxurious buffet! The hot spring pool has indoor and outdoor areas. The indoor area is a bit simple, while the outdoor area can smell the barbecue smoke coming from the restaurant. The parking lot is a bit small, the staff will park for you so don't worry, but there is no guarantee that there will be no space. Next is the buffet part. As for the barbecue, the meat is just average, neither particularly delicious nor particularly bad. I would mainly recommend sashimi and other seafood. As for desserts, there are quite a lot of small cakes and they are delicious, but they will be picked up by everyone and look unsightly, so they are not so delicious. But you can still give them a chance 🤣. The restaurant environment is the same as other affordable all-you-can-eat restaurants, the floor is a bit sticky so be careful.
