"We only had one night in Honfleur at the beginning of December and this small hotel was the highlight, a welcome drink, great rooms with good beds and lovely linen. Its about a 15 min walk into the centre of Honfleur, parking is on-site, secure and easy to use. Thanks to Eric and his family we had a brilliant stay and the best breakfast of our trip - amazing, thank you. (Chris and Laura)"

"This place was just magical. Gorgeous accommodations, friendly staff, charming private garden, in the heart of one of France's most beautiful places - Honfleur. Just a 5 minute walk to the stunning harbor, I can't recommend this place enough to anyone traveling in Normandy. There is also free parking nearby if you're doing day trips."

"Very clean and despite being close to the harbour it was very quiet and peaceful. A great restaurant caked “Sauvage” 2 doors down with exquisite food. The old carpets in the rooms could do with being removed and updated with vinyl flooring. That was the only issue, we enjoyed our stay here."

"The reception is warm and the service is attentive. The hotel has a beautiful environment. There is a parking lot for the hotel not far in front, which is more convenient. The only drawback is that there is no elevator. Because it is an antique building, it is not allowed to be installed. It is a bit difficult to carry large luggage upstairs."

A l'Ecole Buissonnière

"My wife and I booked to stay one night in a Suite to complete our Brittany/Normandy adventure in June. A L'Ecole Buissonniere is a family run high quality bed and breakfast. We wanted a room with air conditioning and were advised at the time of booking that this would be on the 3rd floor - given the age of the building which dates back to the 17th century, there is no lift, which was clearly stated in the room details. We were also advised that the shower facility is within the large modern bathtub which is part of the "open plan" room with the bed at the other end of the room The venue is full of character, likewise our suite which was spacious (c600 sq feet), comfortable and well equipped including a fridge. There is a good sized garden and terrace with tables and chairs and adequate car parking (gated at night) to serve the small number of rooms. On arrival, we were met by Antoine who offered to help us negotiate the sometimes steep stairs up to our room. Throughout our visit, he was very helpful and provided us with a map of the town and 3 recommendations for restaurants for dinner near the Bassin. We opted for L'Absinthe where we enjoyed an excellent seafood/fish dinner - the restaurant was fairly large and clearly popular so we were glad we did an online booking for our Wednesday night. The continental breakfast provided by Antoine and his family was outstanding and beautifully presented - fresh fruit, wonderful croissants, baguettes, and hard boiled eggs. You can find cheaper accommodation in Honfleur but probably not with the quality/character of A L'Ecole Buissonniere or with onsite parking, which was a factor for us. We can definitely recommend a stay here"

"Good location in centre of town made walking around very simple. Parking for 24 hours 12 Euro. There was space in January but after visiting the town other times of the year I would not be confident in finding a space near hotel. Good friendly staff and excellent breakfast. Only reason can’t give 5* is size of room, not the largest but fine for a short visit, and the shower pressure not the greatest. I would recommend a stay."

"Yes. It’s a lovely old medieval building with an in-town location. It has lots of charm although it would have been nice if the plastic flowers in the yard and office were real. Our room had little practical lighting - what was the purpose of the huge modern chandelier hanging over the bed? The room had a strong sweet perfume smell. There were 8 lively decorative pillows on the bed but not one of them could be used for comfortable sleeping. Have the owners tried sleeping here? The bathroom was its best attribute. It was beautiful - large and modern. The shower had plenty of hot water and great water pressure. There was no one permanently at the front desk AND there was no bell to call anyone that we could see. Definitely reserve parking as there are very few spaces on the steep and narrow street."
