La Petite Folie

This was our first visit to Honfleur, which is an amazing place, but our stay at this beautiful B and B was the icing on the cake. We stayed for 2 nights at the start of a little road trip around France and absolutely loved it. The location (up a little street just away from the harbour) is perfect and although you can’t park on site, there is a free car park 5 minutes walk away. The house itself is beautiful - so much care and attention has been taken with all the furnishings and decor. It’s all immaculately clean, welcoming and very luxurious. Our apartment was absolutely lovely and had windows opening onto the street (once closed, you can’t hear any street noise and I’m a light sleeper!). We loved watching the world go by from this vantage point! The bed was super comfortable with beautiful linen, the little kitchen area perfect (although we did eat out most of the time as there are sooo many amazing restaurants) and the bathroom beautiful with a lovely free standing bath to relax in. Valerie (the lovely housekeeper), met us on arrival and was so welcoming and friendly. Valerie is a wonderful character and along with making sure her house is perfect at all times for her guests, also makes the most delicious cakes, which are served in the beautiful lounge every afternoon (best lemon cake ever!). We loved our stay so much, we came back a week later to stay one more night on our way back to the UK as we were lucky enough that they’d had a cancellation the day before! The owner, whom we met in the mornings, is also a delight and so friendly and professional. A true gem in a beautiful place that we can’t wait to return to. This B&B was amazing! The location was wonderful, located on a charming cobblestone street next to shops and restaurants, and within easy walking distance to the main part of town. We stayed in a Superior Apartment that was on the 2nd floor. We were 3 adults and there was plenty of space! The apartment was meticulously clean, and the decor was so charming! The bathroom was large, clean, and the shower had excellent water pressure. We had a beautiful view of the garden out of our window. There was a charming tea room located in the garden where you could sit and relax. Free parking was an easy 5 minute walk. We opted not to do the breakfast as we wanted to explore different parts of the town during our stay, but it smelled amazing and the dining room was lovely! The hosts were very helpful. I would recommend La Petite Folie to anyone staying in Honfleur!

Le Petit Folie is located near the center of Honfleur and within easy walking distance of the harbor, restaurants, and shops. The inn uses a large public parking lot located a few blocks away. The inn is nicely decorated and offers a large common area with a beautiful private garden area for guests. Our room was large, clean, and comfortable. We had a small kitchen area with a table. The bathroom and shower were modern and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful.

This is a very pretty hotel that is well located (although noisy), but any positives are overshadowed by the lack of integrity and professionalism on the part of the management. In February 2023, I revised my reservation online within a few days of originally booking it, to come 2 days earlier. On arrival in September, I was told I had 2 reservations, a second one after my departure date. This came as a total surprise since I had not heard from the hotel in 6 months except to ask for my time of arrival. No mention of 2 bookings(and no mention of different days of arrival). The extremely rude and arrogant manager argued that in addition to the 3 days I stayed, I would have to pay for a further 3 days… that’s over $1000 which they billed to my credit card. The argument was that I had changed but not cancelled the reservation which prevented anyone else from reserving the room. That was not true because the hotel was empty and there were a number of rooms available on various hotel booking sites. I wrote to the owners making a case for my position, but they were not interested. So be wary of La Petite Folie. Their customer service and attitude leaves much to be desired. Incidents like these tarnish a hotel’s reputation and ruined our stay. There are other beautiful hotels in Honfleur. I recommend you try those.

Beautiful hotel located in the heart of the old port area close to all points of interest, restaurants, shops and wonderful galleries. We got a lovely well equipped room including small kitchen and dining table. Everything is new and is decorated like a cosy beautiful house. Tea room is open 24/7, nice garden and lobby with table games are also available. With lovely helpful staff there’s nothing more to ask for, except there’s no elevator. Warmly recommended!!

We had a wonderful experience at La Petite Folie. The appartement was very clean and the decor was beautiful. Staff is very friendly and helpful, we were greeted with homemade cake and iced tea when we came in. Breakfast served in the room is simple but generous and very fresh. Well located in the heart of Honfleur. The only negative point is the fact that the appartement doesn’t have air conditioning and the street is quite noisy until late at night and early in the morning, so makes it difficult to sleep with the windows open. Overall, great experience and I would go back !

Gem of a small hotel. Beautifully furnished suite overlooking lovely little garden. Super comfy king sized bed. Nice little galley kitchen with fridge. Sukru the owner was a hospitable and friendly yet unobtrusive host. Great location on a traffic free quiet street close to the centre of the lovely Honfleur harbour. For our 4 day stay we parked our car about 400 metres away at the Naturuspace car park which is free. There is also street parking (payment) to the rear of the property. Highly recommended.

Would recommend to anyone staying in Honfleur. From the minute arrived we were warmly welcomed, shown around the facilities and given local restaurant recommendations. The shared spaces are lovely, including a living room with games, a really well maintained garden and a garden room. The room itself had everything we needed including air con and a coffee machine. The whole place was decorated beautifully, with great attention to detail. And location can’t be faulted - opposite the park on one side and in town near shops and restaurants on the other side. Thank you!

If you are in Honfleur, you want to stay here! My husband and I stayed here for two nights while we were in the Normany region, and we both wished we had longer. It is a beautiful hotel, right around the corner from the Old Basin. It is a lovely and romantic spot. The staff working there were all incredible, making us feel welcome and at home from the moment we got there. Truly wish we had had more time to spend there.
