Cheap Hotels in Phi Phi Islands

"Here’s a polished review you can post: Really enjoyed our stay at ChaoKoh Phi Phi Hotel & Resort. The highlight was definitely the swimming pool — absolutely stunning, beautifully maintained and a great place to relax during the day. The hotel has a fantastic location, close to everything while still feeling like a relaxing place to come back to. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay, and the overall atmosphere was excellent. Would happily stay here again when visiting Phi Phi!"

"Unfortunately, I have two extremely negative points to share about this hotel: The room advertised on Trip.com and all other online travel sites states it's 36SQM, but the truth is that the actual measured area is only 18SQM. All rooms in the hotel are this size. This extremely small room doesn't even allow for proper luggage storage, except on the bed or piled up on the floor near the entrance door. The space between the two single beds is only 30 centimeters, so imagine trying to move around at night to get to your bed. If I had known the actual size, I would never have booked this room. It's ridiculous and misleading for the hotel to provide such incorrect information to travel sites. The reception told me that the 36SQM includes the balcony and the terrace around the villa. Since when do outdoor spaces count as part of the room size??? And the balcony is only 5 SQM, so even including that, it only comes to 23 SQM in total, still far from the advertised 36SQM. The hotel is clearly lying to falsely attract customers. There's no possible solution on the hotel's website because all rooms are similar. Furthermore, the soundproofing is non-existent. So, you can hear your neighbor's conversations at any time of day or night. You can almost talk from one room to another without raising your voice. It's ridiculous. I could hear the neighbors (children and adults) talking at 11 PM or midnight in their language. I absolutely do not recommend this hotel unless you enjoy 18SQM rooms with no interior mobility and no soundproofing."

"Overall, a pretty good hotel. The staff are very friendly, and they offer a car service for transportation. The newly renovated rooms are quite modern. It's inevitable to find bugs on the island, and there were quite a few ant-like insects in the bathroom. Also, dining options are a bit limited, so I recommend trying the local eateries in the nearby village. Getting to the island isn't the most convenient, but it's not as bad as some online reviews suggest. Walking from the hotel's boat to the beach and watching the staff transport luggage with small carts was actually quite an interesting experience."

"I arrived at Phi Phi by ferry from Phuket, and at the pier, someone was waiting with a sign bearing the hotel's name (he probably meets every ferry, as I didn't specify my arrival time). After a five-minute wait for all the tourists, we took a boat taxi to the hotel. They helped with the suitcases (loading them onto the boat), and the ride was about 5 minutes at most. Transfers to the hotel from the pier and back to the pier upon checkout are free. I received a room upgrade because my original room was occupied, but it was for the best. They gave me a spacious room, though it was at the very top. Getting there required some effort, walking uphill, but it's good to not just relax all the time! This was all compensated for by the amazing view of the pristine Long Beach. There's a steep path down to this beach right behind the building, but everyone uses it. The room was spotless, with 2 bottles of water daily, clean white linens, and a comfortable bed. The bathroom had a window overlooking the beach, and there was a hammock on the balcony. In the morning, a family of three monkeys visited me, so it's important to keep the doors closed and not leave things on the balcony. The baby monkey played with my swimsuit but must not have liked it, as he left it for me! It was beautiful; thinking back, I want to return. Breakfasts included scrambled eggs, pancakes, cheese, sausages, vegetables, bread, salad, pastries, fruits, and juices – pretty standard for Thailand, and everything was delicious. On the beach, there's sand, but to the left, there are rocks and corals. I snorkeled there (they provide masks, but I had my own). There were many fish of all sizes; the snorkeling was excellent. You can get to the pier by boat taxi, which costs 150 baht during the day and 250-300 baht after dark (you can haggle for the return trip at the pier). There's a 7/11 at the pier if you need to buy anything. In the evening, there's live music at the hotel restaurant, and on some days, they have fire shows. It's very quiet at the hotel in the evenings."

"A nice hotel that’s really close to the beach at the back of the place. Unfortunately we didn’t have good experiences with the food or the service. For example at breakfast they served shrimp fried rice with the poop sack still attached and a lot of flies were around the fruit in the mornings. Also the day before we were due to leave I had one of the house keeping staff drop an iron off at my room. Without hearing an answer came into my room and opened the bathroom door where I was showering. I had music on at the time so I’ve no idea happened and I asked her to leave immediately. I went to the door a minute later to get the iron and she also left a set of keys with me- no idea why or why yay they were for but she appeared 2 hours later asking for them so I hope they weren’t for the surrounding rooms! The view from the pool at the back and the fruit shakes were really good but I wouldn’t stay here again"

"This was a wonderful place to stay. Amazing views and friendly staff. Great breakfast buffet (if you get the choice, it's worth signing up for it). Cats roaming the property and island; great if you're a cat lover like me- if not, no worries, they pretty much leave you alone unless you seek their attention. The only drawback I have is that no matter how many people stay in the room, you get only one key. This is because the key is inserted into a ”socket: that powers the air and lights. Conservation is important for resources on the island. They will, however, let your other roomies in any time, day or night, by stopping by the front desk. If you're not used to it, be aware that Thai beds in general are very firm. Not much padding."

"For a little over 100 [currency, e.g., RMB], what more could you ask for? This is hands down the best value-for-money hotel I've ever stayed at. The Glass Beach is literally 5 meters from the door, and it's a standalone cabin, part of a row of bungalows. The lady at the front desk was super nice, and the butler was incredibly attentive! In my country, this would easily cost over 1000! Absolutely fantastic! 👍"

"I genuinely highly recommend this hotel! It's super convenient, just a two-minute walk to the right after getting off the boat at Phi Phi Don Pier, so no need for any transfer. The balcony door offers excellent soundproofing, completely blocking out the noise from the boat engines at the pier. It's also very smoker-friendly, as you can smoke on the balcony with the door closed. Downstairs, there are many local guides offering banana boat day trips, and their prices are generally consistent and fair. Plus, there are two 7-Eleven stores just a two-minute walk away, making it easy to grab food, water, or a massage. The experience here is far better than a day trip from Phuket. Phi Phi Island isn't big, so you don't have to worry about transportation no matter where you stay. I brought my own filtered shower head, and after four days, the filter remained white, which is a good sign. The room was clean, and housekeeping was prompt and efficient. On Phi Phi Island, you can't walk three steps without seeing a cat; they're everywhere and aren't afraid of people or aggressive. In the evenings, there's a lady who feeds the cats downstairs. Sitting below the hotel with a bunch of kittens, enjoying the sea breeze and a beer in the evening, was incredibly enjoyable. This is my second time on Phi Phi, and I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time. I genuinely highly recommend it; it's fantastic!"

"I scoured through all the hotels on Koh Phi Phi before finally settling on this one. It was quite a journey – during the Chinese New Year, it showed no availability, and I even emailed the hotel to confirm they were fully booked. But then, one day, luck smiled upon me and a room suddenly appeared, which I immediately booked! The hotel isn't right by the pier, which is great as it avoids the noisy bars that go on till late, yet it's still close enough to the pier. It's a mere 10-minute walk for transport, going out for snorkeling, or diving. The hotel also offers its own half-day boat tours, with direct boarding from the beach right in front, which is super convenient and very reasonably priced. The environment is simply stunning – a tranquil and cozy tropical rainforest villa. The pool, breakfast restaurant, and beach are all beautiful. The staff are warm and friendly, and their attention to detail is evident everywhere. Looking at other reviews, besides one overly dramatic negative comment, all others are overwhelmingly positive. The only drawback was that the shower water was a bit cold. It's a shame I only stayed for two nights. You can get a more visual sense from the pictures."

"This is a newly opened hotel, very clean with excellent facilities. The front desk staff were really friendly. Perhaps it was because I visited during the off-season, but it was pouring rain that day, and I arrived quite flustered. However, I was pleasantly surprised to be able to check in around 10 AM! It was such a relief to finally drop off my luggage, freshen up, and rest, which perfectly salvaged my day's plans. The front desk also offers a ferry ticket booking service. Although there's no breakfast provided, there are plenty of great food options nearby, so breakfast was never an issue. I had a wonderful stay and would definitely choose this hotel again for my next trip."
