"I think the hotel was renovated from an old hotel. Everything inside the room is fine but just feel old. The blanket and bed cover still feel like there is dirt and my grandpa said there is some smell from the blanket like it was not well dried after the laundry. Everything else is quite good. "I stayed here for three nights because the reviews on this site and Google Maps were almost perfect, and the price was very affordable. Just as everyone mentioned in their reviews, the owner was incredibly kind and friendly, making for a wonderful stay! It seems to be a family-run business, and there was a young lady at the front desk sometimes. Both she and the owner were fluent in English. All the staff were smiling and incredibly friendly; their hospitality was truly outstanding. The room was very clean, and the air conditioning worked perfectly, making it very comfortable. If I had to pick a downside, it would probably be that the shower drain was a bit clogged. I didn't bring a swimsuit, so I didn't use it, but there was also a nice pool. The hotel is right in front of the Siem Reap River. When walking into town, I highly recommend strolling along the shaded path by the river; it's much cooler and more pleasant than walking under the scorching sun. At night, there were food stalls and lights, creating a lively, festive atmosphere every day. The walking distance to town was also perfectly acceptable. This isn't an issue with the hotel itself, but the restaurant next door, 'The River,' plays loud live music late into the night, which could be heard from my room. Personally, I was always so tired that I fell asleep quickly, so it didn't bother me, but sensitive sleepers might want to bring noise-canceling earbuds or earplugs. Overall, this might be the first time I've ever had such a comfortable stay at such a low price. It offered the best value for money of any hotel I've stayed in. At checkout, the owner even gave me a handmade bracelet with my initials on it, which truly touched me with their hospitality."

"Clean hotel with spacious rooms and well-functioning air conditioning. Good location, about a 10-minute walk from the city center, and easy to catch a Tuktuk. The pool area was very nice and generally quiet for relaxing. The breakfast was plentiful and tasty. I recommend it."

"The service at the front desk and restaurant was amazing. The pool was restricted to certain hours of the day. The shower was unfortunately the downside, the drain is slow so the bathroom floods, they didn’t clean or at least offer to clean in the five days tha I was there. They didn’t change my towels. The food and drinks are a little pricey but ok tasting. They place is one dollar tuk tuk away from Pub street which is a plus. In terms of value for money I would say worth it."

"Nice little hotel not far from Pub Street! Quiet hotel with a lovely pool that I almost had all to myself! Good food at the hotel and excellent service - I booked the Angkor Wat tour and a scooter through reception! Perfect and easy to pay for everything together at the hotel. Good value for money, even if slightly more expensive than places in the city. The rooms aren't absolutely perfect but are still a good standard."

"We had a very enjoyable stay at Hotel Somadevi Angkor. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable, and the hotel has a lovely atmosphere. The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The location is also very convenient for exploring Siem Reap and visiting the temples. The pool area was a nice place to relax after a long day. Overall, a very pleasant experience and we would happily stay here again."

"We loved the location!  Location is GREAT if you want to be outside the noise of the tourist spots and easy to access! The rooms were clean and the Acs cooled the rooms nicely.  The shower water was comfortable. The staff greeted and cared for all of our guests with gentle care.  The breakfast buffet was very good for our family.  If guest numbers are low, then guest choose a menu set. The amount of food on the set is GREAT!  We highly recommend this hotel! The chef greeted us every morning and all staff welcome you!"

"I'm Japanese. I stayed for 2 nights from July 15, 2026. I previously reviewed this as a good hostel, but I need to correct that. It's an amazing hostel! It was so good that I extended my stay. There are very few downsides, but if I had to name them, the key cards break easily. I stayed a total of 3 days and they broke twice. They were replaced immediately at the front desk, but some people might find it stressful. Also, there's no water dispenser, so you have to ask the bartender on the 4th floor for water. It's free, but a bit of a hassle. Another thing is that the bicycle parking is unclear. When I tried to park outside, someone told me 'not here,' but then at night, the location changed again, and I was directed to a locked garage next door. There's a guard-like person there 24/7, so it's best to ask them. The cleaning staff is quite..."

"My wife and I had an excellent value-for-money experience at this hotel. The quality of service we received from the staff was extraordinarily good. We especially enjoyed the pool, where the water was clean and clear, as well as the very convenient on-site restaurant, which offered a variety of tasty, reasonably priced Asian and Western dishes. Tuk-tuk drivers were often waiting at the hotel gate, ready to take us anywhere we wanted to go at very reasonable prices. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the shower was pleasant, with no shortage of hot water. The rooftop terrace was particularly enjoyable at night. It provided a place where I could relax, gaze at the night sky — stars above and, at times, lightning in the distance — and observe the fascinating microcosm of life that unfolded in the street below night after night. The only negative was the loud music played by a bar/restaurant across the road between 7 p.m. and midnight. I suggest that the hotel consider double-glazing the windows to help address this form of noise pollution."
