On sunny days, the lake sparkled, and when it rained, it was beautifully misty. The guesthouse has its own lovely courtyard, perfect for an afternoon tea by the fire, or a leisurely stroll along the lake in the evening – absolutely idyllic. The public areas are designed with understated elegance, featuring a book bar and a home theater, ideal for gathering with friends or enjoying some quiet time alone. It lacks the formality of a hotel and instead offers the warmth of a home and the relaxation of a vacation. This is definitely a hidden gem and a must-stay guesthouse when visiting Dongjiang Lake."

"The itinerary was basic, but the hotel was anything but. We stayed at a truly elegant hotel on the other side of the Xiaodong River. I pondered for a long time what words to describe it. It had a wabi-sabi feel, yet the details were human and warm. It had a traditional style, yet the rooms reflected a technological and modern aesthetic. Finally, I realized this might be the ”quality” we were looking for. It's said that the owner had previously worked as a teacher, then achieved financial independence by starting a tech company. In his 50s, he built a hotel, freed from worldly scrutiny and able to design and operate it to his own taste. In the evening, I sat in the lounge, enjoying a rich cocktail, listening to the graceful guzheng music, and observing the beautiful young women. All my emotional wrinkles were smoothed out, leaving behind a stable core. Not only the food and accommodation, but also the hotel's cultural experience programs were thoughtfully curated. The hotel also has its own dock with direct access to the Xiaodong River Visitor Center on the other side. Riding on a bamboo raft, the river breeze caressed my face, making me feel that life is beautiful and life is precious."

The simple yet elegant decor, combined with a spacious layout, perfectly blends the natural wood textures with the lake views. Every detail shows great care and thought. "The guest room was spacious, with two twin beds pushed together and an extra mattress, making the bed exceptionally wide and large, very comfortable to sleep in. The hotel wasn't old; in my opinion, it was the best hotel in town. The lake view from the room was fantastic. I think the best time to view it is 40 minutes before sunrise and two to three hours before sunset. The morning sunlight reflecting off the lake is so bright it's blinding, while artificial light sources at night spoil the ambiance. The hotel breakfast had a wide variety of options, but the taste was just average."

Every morning, a bowl of steaming pig powder is fragrant to the soul, and it is full of vitality after eating. It has been included in my ”must brush” list, and I will stay here next time I come to Zhangzhou!"

There is a charging station behind the hotel, which is very convenient. The hotel only takes about 10 minutes to Xiaodongjiang Scenic Area and about 20 minutes to Gaoyiling. "The hotel is in a great location, only 4-5 minutes' drive from Xiaodongjiang. We set out for Xiaodongjiang at 7am and were able to catch up with breakfast when we returned to the hotel after the tour. The room was very clean and tidy. The most admirable thing was the 180-degree terrace, which overlooked the beautiful river. In the evening, we could have a drink and a bite to eat on the terrace and chat. I loved it!"

"Breakfast is simple, with two types of buns, corn, sweet potatoes, milk, or coffee. Bananas, grapes, and cherry tomatoes are also delivered to your room and can be enjoyed on the small terrace while enjoying the view. It's super chilled! 1️⃣ Facilities: 10 minutes' drive from the Bailang Scenic Area and 100 meters from the nearest farm where we had dinner. Private parking is available, and the B&B entrance is right there. 2️⃣ Stay Experience: You'll have your own butler, who will call you the morning of your arrival date to ask what time you'll arrive. They'll also add you on WeChat in advance to send you maps, directions, and travel guides. If it's cold, they'll prepare a charcoal fire in the living room for warmth, thoughtfully turn on the air conditioning in advance, and even help with luggage! The service was excellent! 3️⃣ Food: Very close to the Bailang service point, where there are plenty of options. 4️⃣ Attractions: Located within the Dongjiang Lake Scenic Area, you can drive or rent an electric scooter to explore the entire Bailang area. You'll see red metasequoia trees, yellow cosmos flowers, and the vast, picturesque lake, making it a perfect weekend getaway. The high-speed rail station is a 1.5-hour drive, Gaoyiling Scenic Area is a 1-hour drive, and Xiaodongjiang is a 0.5-hour drive. 5️⃣ Pros: The window view is unbeatable! You can enjoy the beauty of Dongjiang Lake without even leaving the house! And the value for money is excellent. Highly recommended!"

"Dongjiang Lake Xinbo Haraju is clean and tidy, opposite Dongjiang Lake, you can enjoy the lake view while lying in the room, and you can live very comfortably. Xiao Xu at the front desk was attentive and patient. He showed me a few room choices. Finally, he upgraded us to a room with a terrace to see the river view. In the evening, we drank tea and chatted on the terrace. It was very pleasant to blow the river breeze."
