Cheap Hotels in Yan'an

"The hotel's location next to Wanda Plaza is really convenient. It's about a twenty-minute walk to Baota Mountain and not far from Qingliang Mountain. You can take a taxi to the top of Qingliang Mountain for panoramic city views. Plus, the nearby bus stops make it easy to get to Zaoyuan, the museum, and the Yangjialing Revolutionary Site. The hotel service is good, and the front desk staff are very friendly and responsive to any issues. For late check-out, they charge a fee based on the room type: 20 for a double room and 30 for a triple. It's a nice option to extend your stay and rest a bit, especially if you have a later departure."

"The hotel is huge, and its facilities are excellent; it's probably one of the best in the area in terms of hardware. The cave room is very unique, but the lighting is so dim it really feels like a cave. If the hardware is five-star, then the service is three-star. The service was absolutely terrible, and the hotel's management level was a disaster. We stayed for two days and encountered so many problems that we decisively checked out and moved to another hotel, even though we had originally planned to extend our stay. 1. Because we were watching the 'Return to Yan'an' performance at 7 PM, the front desk, based on the time, booked an 'Embittered Memories' dinner for 5 PM the day before. Later, I called the front desk again to change it to 5:30 PM. When we arrived at the restaurant punctually, the restaurant's front desk couldn't even find our reservation, and the restaurant was completely unprepared. The restaurant staff quickly informed the hotel front desk that due to lack of preparation, all internal hotel guests with reservations were pushed back until after 8 PM. 2. There was a lack of communication or timely information exchange between the restaurant, front desk, and concierge. Given such a major blunder with the dining reservation, I immediately went to the front desk to inquire about the performance reservation I had made the day before for today. From what I overheard from the staff's phone conversation, it seemed they still hadn't made the reservation and were urgently trying to sort it out. 3. The restaurant manager said that because they weren't prepared, they would arrange for the food to be delivered to our room after 8:30 PM. After we returned from the performance, it still hadn't arrived. When I called to inquire, I was told that the reservation hadn't been made again. They then rushed to make it, and it was delivered to our room after 9 PM. 4. Breakfast was an even bigger disaster. The restaurant was quite small, with no usher, and no designated queuing area. The front desk just let people in without any guidance. Everyone had to wait behind guests who hadn't finished eating yet to grab a seat. In the end, we (a family of three) had no choice but to split up and find separate spots to share tables. 5. Not to mention the insufficient supply of coffee, milk, and beverages, the plates were also cleared very slowly. Everyone was doing half a task and then moving on to another. Despite a decent number of staff and not too many tables, it was still chaotic, which again proved the extremely poor training and management. 6. While eating, we saw more and more guests coming down. The front desk informed them there were no seats and to come back in half an hour. A large group of guests left unhappily. However, later guests were seated right away when seats became available. I can only imagine the anger of the large group of guests who waited half an hour only to have to continue waiting. 7. When checking in, we registered our child's information, but the front desk didn't even think to prepare children's toiletries and slippers. When I called the front desk from the room, the robot answered and recorded the request for children's supplies and an extra duvet. Half an hour later, there was still no movement. It was only when I switched to a human operator to complain that they urgently delivered them."

"The hotel's location is excellent; you can walk to Qingliang Mountain and Baota Mountain. However, because of its prime location, traffic congestion in front of the hotel is severe. If you're taking a taxi, I recommend walking a bit further down the road to catch one. For those driving, like us, you'll need some patience. They have their own parking lot, but the parking spaces are marked a bit strangely, so if you come back late, it'll test your driving skills. The room isn't huge, but it's very comfortable, with a great wet/dry separation in the bathroom and excellent water pressure for showers. Staying here in Yan'an is truly convenient."

"I picked this hotel as a jump-off point to visit Guanquan Canyon and Jingbian Wave Valley. It's located in Baota district of Yan'an. The location is great as it's only five minutes walk from the Yan'an High Speed Railway Station. Even if you have big luggage like mine, it's still manageable walk to the hotel. The hotel reception was wonderful. One of the girls, unfortunately I didn't take her name, was extremely helpful and tried hard to retrieve the packages I ordered to the hotel from several storage locations for me. It shows that she was dedicated to her job to assist guests without complaints. Breakfast is available and included in my reservation. It's standard Chinese breakfast. They even provided warm orange juice which I surprisingly like. The hotel has a self-service laundry room with free detergent. This is a great plus for me. The only complain I may have is, although this is not a unique situation in China, the stinkiness of cigarette smoking in the room and corridor. Thankfully it's March when I visited as I had to close window as cigarette smell came through the window. This is very unfortunate indeed."

"I extended my stay for another night, making it three nights in total, just for the food! It was excellent value for money. The food in Yan'an is so delicious, especially the beef pancakes – they're incredibly fragrant. And I have to give a special shout-out to the grilled squid from the shop next to the hotel's underground parking exit – it's the best squid I've ever tasted. Highly recommend!"

"When I came, I compared several good hotels on the platform, and finally booked Qiyun Tingyue Hotel. After coming, the first thing is that the location is quite good. The front desk staff are very enthusiastic. Especially the hotel Yanjing heard that we said that we had a bad sleep. We specially coordinated to upgrade to a very quiet and spacious comfortable room. When we were laundry, we also specially asked the service staff to send laundry detergent. All aspects of service were very thoughtful. Four days and three nights are very comfortable. The hotel is a few minutes walk from Pagoda Mountain, night market, Qingliang Mountain. The location is excellent. The surrounding area is very lively, the scenery is beautiful, eating food, and it is very convenient to go out to various attractions. Come to Yan'an, let us feel the meaning of revolutionary red, the hotel has added a warmth to our trip and the simplicity and friendliness of the people of Yan'an. "Yunqi Heguang Hotel to visit Yan'an This stay was very good, 1: Hygiene first, cleaned very carefully, clean everywhere. 2: The location is really amazing, next to Yangjialing, opposite the Yanda campus. "Because it had been raining a lot in the area and we weren't very familiar with the roads, we contacted the hotel in advance. The staff were incredibly helpful, arranging parking for us and showing us to the car. After checking us in, we went to our room, which was very clean. We could see the Pagoda Hill at night from the room, which was beautiful. If I have the chance to come to Yan'an again, I will definitely choose this hotel again!"

"I stayed in the first room on the left after exiting the elevator on the fourth floor. The window was by the stairs. There was a slipper under the bed, which suggests they never clean under there. Upstairs, there must be a KTV because I could hear singing until 1 or 2 AM, which disturbed my sleep. Plus, there was a low-frequency noise, probably from some large equipment room near the unit. Parking was also quite tight, though that might have been due to the May Day holiday; I'm not sure what it's usually like. Now for the good points: The bathroom had a three-way split design (separate toilet, shower, and sink areas), and they provided face towels. The bedding was comfortable, and breakfast was plentiful. I'd recommend booking a higher floor to avoid the noise."
