"The Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences is about 50 kilometers from Jinghong city. Its East and West sections are quite large, and a full day isn't enough to explore everything. I'd read stories about botanists from the Academy before, so I made the botanical garden a priority and decided to stay at a hotel within it. The room rate I booked online included entrance tickets, which made it a pretty good deal for two people. After our rental car arrived at the East Gate, I called the hotel front desk, and they allowed us to enter. On the afternoon of our arrival, we explored the larger East Section's rainforest, which offered a stunning view of various rainforest vegetation. The hotel's restaurant was quite good; the local dishes at dinner were authentic, and I even saw family gatherings of XTBG staff – quite a change from how their predecessors lived! The next morning, we hired a guide and toured the different areas of the West Section. All in all, choosing to stay at the botanical garden hotel made this trip incredibly rewarding.
Facilities: The in-room facilities met our needs, and the small balcony offered views of the flora and fauna.
Hygiene: Clean and tidy.
Environment: The botanical garden environment is unique and relaxing.
Service: The front desk and restaurant service were excellent, and the breakfast offered a good variety, including local specialty snacks."

"The hotel was very clean, and the blackout curtains were a big plus. Coming in the off-season, the price was excellent. The front desk staff, Xiao Yan, was not only beautiful but also provided wonderful service with a constant smile – another big plus! The only downside was that the hotel is right on the main street, so there was some traffic noise, but I was so tired I fell asleep quickly."

"The shop owner was great. When I got off at Mengla Railway Station, the shop owner picked us up. They were very welcoming. There were three of us who booked two beds, but they upgraded me to three beds. They were very nice. The receptionist was also very helpful. The environment was nice, the bedding was clean, and it's convenient to go anywhere near the railway station. I highly recommend this place; it's great value for money."

"This hotel in Mengla is a real hidden gem! The location is fantastic, and I love the minimalist yet stylish decor. It's fully equipped with smart facilities, and everything is super clean. Even the toiletries are from premium brands – they really pay attention to the details. As soon as I walked into the lobby, I was drawn to the beautiful tea room. Before I even checked in, the owner warmly invited us to have some tea. The owner is incredibly kind; while we were drinking tea, they gave us recommendations for local food, where to go, and how to get around. They were so enthusiastic and thoughtful throughout. Staying at this hotel in Mengla is absolutely worth it, and I've already been raving about it to all my friends!"

Anantara Xishuangbanna Resort, overlooking the Luosuo River, is an inviting heaven for those seeking a breath-taking natural sanctuary or a discovery of the ancient culture that shaped this region of Asia. Anantara Xishuangbanna’s refined luxury provide an indulgent backdrop for explorations through China’s oldest and largest botanical garden, diverse ethnic tribal villages, and hillside tea plantations that produce the world-renowned Pu’er tea.
"During the off-season, the hotel was incredibly quiet, I barely saw anyone all day. The hotel is small but beautiful, with lovely greenery and aesthetically pleasing decor. While it's clear the hotel has been around for a while and some areas are showing their age, for the off-season price, it's still unbeatable value for money.
Overall it was great, but there are a few areas that could be improved:
1. The public restrooms. It's excellent that they provide hand towels after washing your hands, but the lighting is dim, and the labels on the hand soap and lotion bottles next to the sink are very hard to read; you have to get very close to see them.
2. The pool. They could definitely provide towels by the pool.
3. The food. This was quite disappointing. Breakfast wasn't particularly outstanding (especially the dessert section), and the complimentary afternoon tea was truly awful. You could tell immediately it was frozen instant food that had just been taken out and not fully thawed – everything was soft and mushy on the outside but hard on the inside. Also, I don't think the hotel's fruit selection was good; it was all bland and tasteless, which I think is unacceptable.
Despite these points, let me highlight the biggest positive: the service. The hotel's service rivals that of some luxury hotels. Staff always smiled and greeted guests, responded very quickly to requests, and the shuttle service was available on demand. There was also turn-down service, with rooms cleaned twice daily, morning and evening, and even guests' clothes neatly arranged.
Another plus is that the hotel's back entrance is close to the botanical garden, which is perfect for those who want to visit at night or early in the morning to avoid crowds. It's also ideal for spending one day near the Wangtianshu Scenic Area and then just relaxing at the hotel for the rest of the time. I had a wonderful weekend here."

I was pleasantly surprised with a room upgrade upon check-in. The room was spotlessly clean, which made me feel very comfortable and at ease during my stay. The hotel staff were friendly and always ready to help, which really enhanced the service experience. The hotel isn't far from Manlongle, and the Saturday market there is definitely worth a visit – it offers an authentic Dai ethnic experience with great food and shopping. I had a wonderful time and rested well. The hotel offers great value for money, and I'll definitely stay here again on my next visit!"

"It is undoubtedly the best hotel in Mengla. It is worth mentioning that among so many hotels in the world, this is also the hotel with the best service and the most popular service. Manager Zhang of the hotel contacted me a week in advance and added WeChat, saying that he could provide a series of services and help. Of course, other hotels also have this kind of advance communication service. One day in advance, Manager Zhang arranged a room for me and kindly reminded me if I had any needs. It felt that service was really supreme. He was still replying to my WeChat in the middle of the night to explain the situation of the nearby scenic spots. After arriving at the hotel, Manager Zhang came out to greet us in person, politely, and sent us to the room. He left after making arrangements. After checking in, Manager Zhang booked a package for the Wangtian Tree, which was cheaper than the scenic spot. During the stay, you can say WeChat at any time and solve it immediately. It is much better than those large five-star mechanized services and has more warmth. The hotel is very new in all aspects, the bedding is comfortable, it is a five-star standard, the room size is suitable, and it is not crowded for two large and two small people. The bath water is large and comfortable, and the ginger shampoo is also good, and the hair is refreshed after washing.
