"I had a hard time getting a reservation during the Yosakoi festival, so I made a reservation through another site and then canceled it. I was shocked when they told me on the day that there was no reservation on my account! It turned out the hotel's management had changed and they were in the process of migrating their system, and it was just an oversight on their end, so I was able to stay there without any problems. They also granted my request for a room with a view of the fireworks, giving me a prime spot to watch the spectacular fireworks from a cool room! It truly became a once-in-a-lifetime memory."

The room is rather small. The bed is OK but the pillow is too small and not comfortable. The onsen is of course the attraction. The room itself less. Kochi is an excellent place for local delicacies.

I stayed here last year as well.
It was such a great experience that I wanted to stay here again this year,
so I chose this hotel. The quality of the food seemed to have improved compared to last year. The bonito tataki was delicious.
Also, the breakfast area was conveniently located,
and they made efforts to avoid overcrowding, which was great.
I'll definitely choose this hotel when I visit Kochi Prefecture again.

Chong Ee JayWithin 5 minutes walk from Kochi Train Station to the hotel. Not much eateries in the immediate 5 minutes radius but if you take a 10 minutes walk down or 5 minutes tram ride, you can find an entire street of local shopping and eateries. Do visit the Hirome Market and Kochi Castle which is nearby too!
Hotel receptionist do not speak much English but they are super hospitable and easy to communicate via English with them using an amazing translation device they have! Had to do luggage delivery service and they were super helpful!
Would definitely stay in this hotel the next time we visit Kochi!

Good location because it is near Kochi Station. There is Lawson across the pedestrian crossing, so it was convenient because you can go shopping at night.
The receptionist and the correspondence were able to spend well and comfortably.
Near the reception, there was also a makeup emulsion cleaning amenities (types to take each).
The room and bed were also large for two people, but they were able to use it with wide 々.

the room size is very small for 2 persons. the luggage has to be closed all time to make way and can only open 1 at a time. breakfast was a fixed set with combination of Japanese and western. the location is walking distance to hirome market and shopping street..

LIKA_LifeThe location is super convenient, easily accessible by streetcar or bus. They even offer free curry rice in the evenings and a simple breakfast in the mornings. It's truly excellent!

I stayed for one night and was really impressed. All the staff were incredibly helpful and kind, even giving me tips on the local area. 😊 Thanks to them, I had a very comfortable stay.
My only minor suggestion would be regarding the loungewear – there's only one free size. As a 178cm, 75kg guy, it felt a bit small. I imagine many international travelers stay here too, so perhaps offering two sizes would be a good idea.
I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Kochi. Thank you! 😊

Not too far from Kochi Station, and you can easily walk to the famous Hirome Market and Kochi Castle. Alternatively, the front desk offers free bicycle rentals. Laundry is free, and drying costs 100 yen for 30 minutes. There's free coffee and a microwave on the first floor. Parking right in front of the hotel is free. The hotel was almost fully booked during our stay. However, the facilities are showing significant age, which makes the cleanliness situation feel like even with their best efforts to clean and maintain, it still comes across as messy and unkempt.

The staff is very welcoming and polite. Breakfast is a handful of rice, a glass of juice, and some other stuff, completely useless. The bathroom is very small. You can get stuck in the toilet. The glass in the room's window is frosted, so you can't see anything. Who came up with this idea??? It feels like you're sleeping in a capsule, not a hotel. There's practically no window. I paid an extra 500 yen and moved to a wonderful hotel on the other side of the river; you can see it on the map.

The hotel is dated but has lots of charm! Yes, the fittings and furniture is old and outdated but everything is working as it should.
The room (twin room) was generous in space by Japan standards. Here are some plus points about the hotel:
1) The windows can be opened fully to allow generous amounts of wind in (not the usual small openings).
2) The hotel staff are so generous and kind, they allowed us to check-in early and check-out late without charge! This is also the reason why we will definitely stay here again if we are in Kochi.
3) Hotel is located in the heart of all the bars (there were hoards of salarymen hanging around the area in the night and it gets very lively)
4) It’s a cosy hotel with no frills (so bring your own shampoo and conditioner if you are fussy about it).
To manage your expectations, note the following:
1) It’s an old establishment, so don’t expect everything to be sparkling new or matching. No usb outlet charging as well.
2) Due to the location, you might hear lots of street noise if you open the windows at night.
All in all, a wonderful little charming hotel, run by people who have the interests of their guests. Highly recommended!
