Kochi Castle that was built between 1601 and 1611 is one of the most famous castles of Japan. Harimayabashi is one of the most famous landmarks of the city that has the famous red bridge that is popular because of the legendary love story of a 19th century Monk attached to it. Godaisan Observatory is a must-visit because of the beautiful view of the city that it offers from the top. Chikurin-Ji temple is a charming Buddhist temple founded in the 8th century and has famous statues in its treasure hall. Make sure that you visit the Makino Botanical Garden that is next to the temple that has a massive collection of tropical plants, a separate medicinal plant garden, flower garden and many more. If you love water sport, then do visit Kasturahama Beach, which is a beautiful beach on the outskirts of the city.

Kōchi is a small city with excellent restaurants serving local delicacies. Nijudaimachi & Obyamachi have some of the best restaurants and cafes in the city.
