Hotels with Breakfast in Dortmund

We came from Ireland to Germany and stayed at NH Hotel Dortmund. During our stay, Caroline stood out as the most professional member of staff. Having visited many countries and stayed in numerous hotels, we can confidently say that her level of professionalism is exceptional. She speaks both English and German fluently and consistently delivers a high standard of service with great attention to detail. We strongly believe that Caroline truly deserves to be in a managerial or assistant managerial position, and we highly recommend dealing with her for any service.

The room was generally clean, the breakfast was very good, the location was excellent, and I would definitely come back next time. The price was also quite reasonable. Overall, it was a good experience.

The room is nice, there is parking, conference center, restaurant. It is close to Dortmund University, with subway and bus, and it is safe, but there is nothing to visit around.

Hi, the hotel is great! Very comfortable beds and the service is excellent. We arrived at 12:30 and our room was already ready :) The man at reception is super nice and helpful. 5 minutes from the main train station and 10 minutes to the city center – a great location! We'll definitely stay here again :)

Everything was great except the fact that you are supposed to tell 2 days ahead of your arrival that you will check-in. That's unusual when you booked your hotel in advance. Eventually I could reach them a day before my arrival and it was no problem to check-in ahead of time for an ”early-check in” fee.

The hotel is close to the BVB Dortmund Stadium, which was our main target the 2 nights of our stay in Dortmund. Good service and warm welcome. Simple but great breakfast.

While checking out this morning the manager at the hotel said the credit card Trip.com provided kept getting declined, so we were forced to pay twice. While I understand there was an issue with the trip.com payment, this should be handled by the hotel and the booking service. Or they should have alerted me earlier during my stay and not while I was about to check out with a travel connection that was close to being missed. Instead of public transport I had to spend 25 euro on a taxi to get to the train station.

The hotel is very run-down; it's practically in a ”war zone,” with almost all the houses in the area empty or looking like they've been bombed. The hotel itself is located above a dollar store, which will probably go bankrupt by the time anyone reads this. There's a funeral home right next door, and a couple of kebab shops across the street. A Rewe supermarket isn't far away. The location is quite remote, but if you have a car, it's no problem. Parking costs an extra €5 but is unguarded. The hotel entrance is in the tunnel leading to the parking lot. The lobby looks quite nice, and the service is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is meager but good, with everything you need: rolls, scrambled eggs, cold cuts, etc. However, the coffee is extremely watered down, the hot chocolate is practically undrinkable, and three espressos are just one regular cup of coffee! The rooms are clean but very old-fashioned; the windows aren't airtight and have been patched up with tape (which did work, though); the shower has a rather high step, so if you have trouble climbing (especially getting out carefully!), showering is out of the question. However, the room was very quiet and I felt comfortable; I slept well.
